We are a small non-​corporate single owner business offering a semi-​secluded hospitality experience away from in-​town activity. Our units range from funky vintage beach cottages to modern ocean view townhouses all of which have kitchens and fireplaces. Both types of accommodations have a loyal following with the townhouses having the closest proximity to the beach of any hotel on the Long Beach Peninsula. We are environmentally conscious using green cleaning products do our own recycling and have a heated indoor pool with a state of the art saline sanitation system. We also can boast the Washington Coasts only indoor Tennis courts! With State-​of-​the-​Art lighting system provides superb sight on the ball. With indirect and direct lighting there are no shadows or dark spots, letting you play at your peak performance. Enjoy year round tennis on our US Open court atmosphere. The medium speed of the court also creates perfect game play for the beginners and the professionals.

History

Established in 1953.

The original Lighthouse Motel was built by a local fisherman who would construct a number of cottages annually depending upon how successful his catch was that season. At the time the tide would roll up not far from the back porches. He sold the property about 25 years ago to the current owner who enjoyed a doubling of his property due to sand deposition. As the tideline grew farther away opportunities for new development occurred and the Oceanfront Townhouses were built offering outstanding views (some of 180 degrees) and sounds of the rolling sea. Alas the Cottage views are now blocked by coastal forest lands and the backyard sand is replaced by grass.

Richard and his wife Jan bought the resort in the 80’s and have followed their dreams. Now with 41 units, the Peninsula’s only indoor saltwater pool, and two indoor tennis courts, The Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort is the #1 place to be on the Long Beach Peninsula!

Just returned from a most satisfying visit to the Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort. It was recommended by a friend, and completely lived up to her beautiful description. The desk staff are cordial, and were willing to go beyond the norm to make sure that we had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, and it was really relaxing to have everything we needed in the cupboards. A short walk to the beach, where there were only a few people at a time. Our dogs could run free, and the beach was clean and uncluttered.
I would highly recommend this resort. Looking forward to returning every year.

For the price, compared to what other places cost, I was expecting a little more. It was nice to have a full kitchen available. There’s no daily room service. You can only use the pool area until 9pm. Which sucked because we wanted to see the sunsets… which happened around 8:30. Definitely inconvenient.
And our room smelled. A little funk doesn’t typically bother me… but it smelled like someone cooked some extremely potent fish in our room and then left all of the windows and doors closed for a week. It was pretty bad. We called the front, and they did run us up some air freshener spray — which masked the smell momentarily. Nowhere else smelled like that, so it was definitely the room, and not the area.
It was nice to have access to the beach. The staff was friendly. Easy parking.

Eastside, WA
We were in room 606, a one bedroom king. It was very nice. It had a great view. Very apartment like, quite comfortable and easy to get used to. Fully stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans and anything you need really. They do not provide daily housekeeping and it was not a problem for the two of us at all. My hunny and I stayed three nights and four days and had to go to the front desk once for more coffee, towels and soap. They have a covered pool and hot tub which is a green house that the ceiling opens up in the summer and sliding glass doors all around as walls too. We went to the pool and hot tub and it was nice and the water was clean but I would say the cement could probably use a paint job. They also have lockers and shower rooms to clean in and out before swimming or working out and they also have a tennis court. This was our first trip to Long Beach but we drove around and explored all over and I would say this looked like the best place to say and based on our experience we will be back. We had a wonderful time.

Very nice place to stay in Long Beach. We stayed for 3 days from July 19 to July 22, 2015. Friendly staff. Nice, clean accommodations. We will definitely come back. I do agree with some of the other reviews that a ceiling fan would be a nice addition but most days there was a nice breeze that blew through the room when the windows were slightly opened.

We came here as our first stop of our honeymoon, well three days later and we are still here. We got room 602. Very nice full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room, short walk to the beach or drive, as we learned it’s legal to drive on the beaches during certain times (watch for signs). We spent all day exploring the coast and would drive back up to the hotel, because it felt like home.
The dogs were comfy and slept so much that we could crate them and go for a walk or eat by ourselves and as long as they don’t make noise your okay.
The only downside is FANS. It’s hot and no fans.
Also no housekeeping unless you ask for them to come, it’s nice I swept and did all that but with sand for 3 days you really need a vacuum and maybe some disinfectant for the kitchen!

We came back March 2015! The same ‘cottage’ was the only one available, so we got 104 again.
I wanted to update my review to state there was no wet dog smell this time, so the last visit we must have just followed a pet visitor! Room was very clean!
We did try out the pool this trip, and it was great! Loved the ping pong and air hockey tables that are also available for use!
Service in office was again very friendly and accommodating!

This place is awesome! We got a cute little 2 bedroom cottage for the weekend for a steal! Full kitchen, stocked with everything you’ll need to fix up any food. Beds are soft, couch is comfortable, rooms are decent sized. Cute little fireplace. Spacious backyard out from the deck. I would definitely be returning if I come back down this way.

So glad I found this place with my partner, I will definitely be a returning customer. I’m a pet owner and a pet care business owner so I understand traveling with pets can difficult and expensive. The front desk was wonderful and helpful! It really makes a difference when the staff looks and acts like they enjoy their job, these guys nailed it. The beach is so convenient, just steps away and the best part is that it’s not overcrowded because Lighthouse is away from the busy town but not too far to drive to it. Added bonus, it has a little haunted history, look it up!

I really wanted to like this place but it just didn’t work out for us. There are blinds not curtains on the windows and the bedroom was so bright at night with the outside lights it was hard to sleep, even though the bed was quite comfortable. We brought our dogs but at check in got the 3rd degree about them and were told we could be asked to leave at anytime if our dogs barked in the room or did not behave. The desk staff lacked customer service skills and seemed silently fuming when we talked to them, which made me not want to talk to them at all. Our dogs are good but it set us on edge. The bedroom didn’t have an alarm clock. Even with all the windows open it was stuffy. The gas fireplace was a nice and I liked the art in the rooms. Every time the toilet was flushed it ended with a long loud high pitched screech. If we were with a large group of people I could see staying here but for just the two of us and the dogs I wouldn’t return.

We stayed there with friends in 703 or 704, it’s a very nice two-​story condo. The main rooms with King beds are in the bottom floor as well as the unit’s only full bathroom. We slept in the little room up in the living area. It had a double bed which was barely big enough for my husband and I but it was a comfortable room nonetheless. There’s also a sofa bed in the living room which has its own deck and nice views of the dunes and ocean. The only awkward thing was going out on the deck and being right next to the other people’s dining area window.
The place is fully equipped with any kitchen utensil you might need, the bedrooms have extra pillows and blankets, the décor is nice and beachy, everything is clean and comfortable. They allow dogs but you wouldn’t know it because there are no stains or smells.
The one thing these places need is ceiling fans! It was hot on our second day and my friends had to go to the hardware store to buy window fans. *Something for management to consider*.
Our stay was great, the resort is only minutes away from the downtown area and has a couple of stores nearby in case people need things like milk… or beer.

We stayed at the Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort for 3 nights over this past Labor Day weekend in Room 110 «The Crow’s Nest» which is a large 1 bedroom with full kitchen and living room over the garage at the cottage section of the property. Don’t let the «over the garage» fool you. This was a wonderful, very private room and for $ 110.00 a night over a holiday weekend is a fantastic deal. This was large for a couple and would also be perfect for a family with 1 – 2 small children as the couch pulled out. Kitchen boast an oven that you can cook a take and bake pizza in (which we did) with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, plenty of counter space and a table to seat 4 for dinner. The kitchen/​living room is an open space so it makes the space feel much bigger. The bed room was large but watch your head as this is a slanted ceiling due to it is over the garage. The only down side to this space was that since it is located in the front just off the street the road noise is a bit significant when the windows are open. A bit better when they are closed and not too bad a night. Certainly didn’t keep us awake after spending a day out and about. The main lobby is very inviting and you can even get your favorite espresso drink at their coffee shop. I really liked the indoor pool as the walls and ceiling are all glass, so you feel like you are outside. Sliding glass doors and part of the ceiling can be opened giving you the outdoor feel as well. The beach front is a bit away from one of the drive on sections, so you don’t get too much «traffic» from the trucks and SUVs. The only drawback to its location is that we normally like to walk to town for dinner and strolling, and it’s just a bit too far for most people. But we would stay again and recommend it to all our friends for future stays in the Long beach area.

Me and my partner had a great time at Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort. We were not sure how things were going to go, as when we got there at 2:00pm to see if our room was ready, the guy at the front desk was very unfriendly. He did not even really look up, did not welcome us or anything, just said… «Check in is at 4:00pm, come back then.» Wow, we were really taken back by that, and hope that was not how the rest of the weekend was going to go. When we came back at 4:00, the staff that checked us in was very nice. They warned us that it was going to be a very busy weekend as there was a family reunion taking up most of the property. I had ordered the romance package, and when we got up to the room they had done a really nice job! Very romantic with the rose petals, and candles, and teddy bear. Thanks for making that special. The room was very nice, and had a decent view of the grasslands, dunes and the ocean. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Internet worked great to upload pics and stuff. When we checked out, the staff was very friendly and invited us back again. So except for the terrible first impression, it was a great weekend. I would definitely stay there again if we come to Long Beach again.

This is our new home when we visit Long Beach. The first night we stayed in one of the older rooms on the front of the property. You could not beat the price, $ 85/​night for three adults and a dog. The second night we upgraded to be closer to the beach. The room was a condo with two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath on the first floor. Upstairs there was a bedroom with a single bed, a kitchen and living room that opened to a balcony with a view of the ocean. The room was very clean and the staff was wonderful. There is also an indoor heated pool, game room and an exercise area.

Stayed here for a short getaway. What a nice little find in Long beach. Place is clean, comfy, friendly staff. Manager was way cool … ask her about scuba. They have a tennis pro for two indoor courts. Saltwater pool at 83 degrees. Had everything we need. Real close to beach. Cool stormy, watching the brave clam diggers. Will definitely be back. No need to look further … go book this place :-)
Tip — Visit a cool sports restaurant and lounge called the Lost Roo.

Stayed in one of the rustic cottages (101) with my husband. 2 bedrooms, equipped kitchen with toaster, coffeemaker, stove and fridge, cozy fireplace and the wifi worked great. Was about a mile walk to the beach, but we enjoyed the trek. Close to the highway but the noise never bothered us. It was actually quite serene! The place wasn’t too fancy and was a bit old which is what we loved about it. Felt very cozy. Will be staying again soon!

We stayed for one night in a double-​double «rustic» room (aka old, lol), and our stay was okay but if we came back we’d want to stay in one of the nicer rooms closer to the water.
The room we had smelled funny, possibly from the carpet, walls, couch (that was stinky), or from many wet dogs that stayed there previously. It looks like the bathroom had been remodeled in the last 10 years or so, and the windows/​back sliding door have been replaced. The sliding window in the bathroom is not secure though — just two sliding glass panels that anyone could easily get into. Also, the entry door with the glass window is cute, but not safe. The door also was a bit sticky, and when we first entered the room the door actually wasn’t secure as whoever cleaned the room probably didn’t tug on the door enough.
The beds were okay but not great.
The pool area was great though, as were the showers. It was nice to have a semi-​private deck off our rooms, and it was convenient having our own little kitchen. We were just a short walk to the beach.

What can I say but we just love this place. If you’re looking for a peaceful get away with your entire family (furry friends included), this is the place to go. The beachfront units/​townhouses are fully equipped, nicely appointed and all around nice to where it is like a home-​away-​from-​home.
The staff is great and the grounds are well kept. Taking a walk on the beach doesn’t take much effort since it’s just over the dunes. You really can’t go wrong here.
If you travel a lot you know that many times beds can be a bit uncomfortable, bedding can be second rate and overall setup and cleanliness can be questionable. Not so at Lighthouse. The beds are big and comfortable with quality bedding. And the outlets. .. OMG, they were everywhere. I did a happy dance since it didn’t look like I would run out of options for plugging in my various electronics (I know, when you’re on vacation you’re not supposed to have so many gadgets but. .. this is the 21st century and it is difficult to get around with some sort of an electronic leash! — though our cell signal wasn’t the best)
We just spent our 2nd anniversary at Lighthouse and came away feeling refreshed and renewed. My husband ordered the romance package and we walked into a bedroom with candles, chocolate, a sweet «I Love You» teddy bear and silk rose petals scattered on the bed. What a way to start our time down there. .. Now I can’t wait to go back — for a «just cause» visit.

This is a nice place for a long weekend at the beach. The place is pet-​friendly and there were alot of dogs, but it was so clean you would never know a dog stayed there. The view from the balcony was beautiful. 5 minute walk to the beach.
They do not do daily maid service or change sheets or linens unless you ask. Close to the beach but not close to town. We will stay there again if we weren’t doing an event in town. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear quite a bit of banging next door.

My husband and I spent two nights at the end of June 2012 in unit #108 (rustic beach cottages) and would totally come back. The accommodations were cozy, and the kitchenette was small but well equipped for meal prep. We brought our two dogs with us and the place was great in accommodating them. The staff was all friendly and helpful, and even prior to my arrival I had emailed to ask some questions and they were very prompt at getting back to us. The larger condos looked really nice although we did not walk through them.
Pluses:
–the price was great, $ 200 for the whole weekend for two people and two dogs
–location is definitely beach front!
–pool and club house were very nice and they had a free airhockey table available to guests
–close to the main drag of Longbeach and super easy to find
–rooms were the perfect size, clean and equipped with basic kitchen items
Cons:
–strange smell in the room like mold or mildew, but figured it was normal for a place that was so close to the ocean and pet friendly
–one of our stove burners didn’t work, which made cooking difficult
–they offered a free wine reception to guests that we found out was canceled when we arrived to the clubhouse (to be fair they did try to call and cancel but we missed the call)
The place was great, the price was right and we would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend Lighthouse Beachfront Resort!
