This place was amazing! The place is beautiful and well kept, and service is great. Amy cut my hair she was amazing! I showed her a photo reference to how I want my hair and it was spot on.

Jill (owner of Goldhill Salon) has been cutting/​coloring my hair for many years, and I never go to anyone else. I drive all the way from Glendale to Long Beach because she is so fantastic!
And everyone is so nice too! Love Goldhill!!!

I had Wes and the one positive thing I can say is he was really nice! Unfortunately I spent $ 33 on a haircut and sadly I will have to get another cut in less than a week. My hair grows incredibly fast and it’s already been 5 weeks since my last cut since I moved out of San Diego. Besides my better judgement I was not able to get back to San Diego for my stylist and saw all the great reviews for this place. I asked for scissors since that is what my old stylist would use and would take it pretty close and keep my hair short on both the sides and on the top. In the 5 weeks without a haircut, Wes only took off «maybe» ¹⁄₈ of an inch and now I have to pay another place that can get my hair shorter and allow me to go the 3 – 4 weeks normally I wait. I asked to make it shorter but he didn’t seem to understand. I was frustrated and just ended up leaving after he texturized the top. I was excited to finally get my haircut and not require a long drive to San Diego but it’s going to cost me the same now anyway to go back there and have her cut it the way I want (shorter), considering what I would have spent in gas =$ 30 + her price $ 25=$ 55 (what it would have been). Now I spent $ 38 + $ 33 (to fix this)=$ 71 so I am truly out on this deal. I will never be going back to this place.
And now that I am home and actually doing my hair I noticed the left hand side by my ear is not textured and can see the difference in lengths… Fantastic! Just something else that needs to be fixed. I was thinking a haircut will help me enjoy my weekend a bit and feel refreshed but now I am stressed out and upset that I have to spend more time to fix something that I paid good money to have right.
On a positive note… At least I don’t have to shave my head…

Wes was great. I liked the online appointment option. I like the haircut Wes gave me. Everyone was pleasant. I’m going back.

Thanks Jill, you really took a lot of time to get a great cut, even with your «Trigger Thumb», see you in 6 weeks or so! Seriously great cutting and styling by a professional who takes time to get to know you as a person, how much or little time you’re willing to out in to keep the style going and she gets to know your hair and its’ quirks (in my case many quirks…). Thanks!

I had a great first time experience with Wes. He saved my hair. I thought it didn’t have any hope but he brought it back to life! I also took my 2 year old toddler for a trim & he was so great with her. My daughter loved her 1^st haircut experience. The staff was friendly & welcoming. I even went home with some free samples that I can’t wait to use. I purchased a leave in hair smoother that Wes used to style my hair. I saw how it instantaneously & effortlessly tamed my frizzy, curly hair. Their price was slightly higher than what I normally spend but I must say the service & good quality work is very worth it.

Wes was great! Will be coming back. And the salon is not far from me at all. It works out perfect! Thank you!

My apologies for the delayed review. I visited Goldhill Salon two weeks ago and have been meaning to write this review ever since. I actually started it the same night but life has been nonstop ever since. However, my experience was worthy of a positive review both for the salon and the stylist, albeit late.
First of all, Jill (the owner) was able to accommodate me at the very last minute. My regular stylist (at another salon) canceled on me due to a family emergency. It was the first day of school for me (I teach) and I had class in less than three hours. I had met Jill a couple of times at community events and thought of her that morning when I found myself in a «bad hair on the first day of school» situation. I managed to contact her via email and we coordinated a last minute appointment with one of her stylists because she was already booked. I was very appreciative of her making the schedule work.
Jill referred me to Wes and he is great. He was friendly and professional and did a great job with my hair from color and trim to styling. He was thorough and took his time. I felt great when I left; ready to take on my class and the new semester.
The salon was clean and had a good vibe. I like the vintage vanities. The receptionist, Jared, is a very courteous and polite young man. We had pleasant small-​talk and I hope he did well on his (then) upcoming interview.
The only negative would probably be the price but it’s minor compared to the many positives. I am accustomed to paying much less with my regular stylist at a different salon just up the street and was a bit shocked by the total. I probably should have asked first, so that’s my bad. My everyday budget will not allow regular visits (I’m a teacher and I have four kids) but this is definitely a special occasion salon which I hope to visit again when I have somewhere special to be.

I wanted to color my hair not just from a box but at a salon for the longest time. Well, I finally got to do so, when I went for a visit to L.A. for a week just last week. I had an appointment with another stylist, which my friend made me late for. When it was rescheduled, the stylist was told by her doctor to rest her already sprained finger. So, it must be a little bit of fate, when I found Wes at Goldhill Salon.
I was in need of a change in my life, so why not start with my hair? My hair was in need of a revamp — it was dead and old, just like me! I didn’t want to lose the length, I didn’t want my hair thinned out and wanted it full again, layers, etc. I had a list of criteria yet I was uncertain of what I really wanted. I basically left it up to Wes.
It was a long process of consultation, haircut, color, and styling… plus a good amount of chitchat. A total of close to 3hrs, but totally worth it. I think this appointment was a little long not because of Wes, but most likely because of me. He was patient with me, and very meticulous.
Regardless I highly recommend Wes, and I’m figuring out how long I can wait before going back to Cali (I’m from Hawaii) to get my hair done again by him! :) If you move elsewhere Wes, you have to let me know! Think of it as a compliment from someone who bounced around from stylist to stylist looking for the perfect one.

I’ve recently moved to the area and have had two AMAZING appointments with Nichole. I got a color touch up and haircut. She is so sweet, thoughtful, and conscientious. I can’t say enough about how thrilled I am to have found her and gold hill salon. It’s a nice area, easy plentiful parking, and everyone is very friendly.
Making the appointment on the website is so easy, too.
I’m so happy with my color and cut — you should definitely go here and get an appt with Nichole if you can!

After several visits to Goldhill Salon I am still thrilled with my hair and the high quality service that I receive from Jill and her entire staff. Couldn’t be happier with my hair! Thank you Jill for listening and your amazing attention to detail. You are the best!

I have bounced around from salon to salon looking for a stylist who would be able to create the perfect color for me and I have finally found him! Wes went above and beyond what I was expecting for a color treatment.
He met with me first for a consultation to examine my hair and explain what we would need to do in order to achieve the color tones I wanted. On the day of service he took his time and went through a three step process to get my hair color PERFECT! He started with a clarifying treatment to get the previous color tones out, followed by a pre-​pigment treatment to give my hair an all over base, and lastly he mixed the perfect brown with a warm red undertone that looked stunning at the end!
This was the most time consuming hair appointment I’ve ever had, but it was hands down the BEST. I highly recommend Wes and his expertise to help you get the color, cut, and style you want for your hair. You will not be disappointed!

I’ve lived in Southern California for about four years now & have struggled to find a hair stylist that catered exactly to my needs. Wes worked the ultimate magic on my mane. After having long hair for awhile I was ready to spice it up and go for a chic bob. I showed Wes pictures for reference & he literally did EXACTLY what I asked for. I am so in love with my new hair! I had my second visit today and saw Nicole who happens to be their color specialist.
After such a good experience with Wes the last time I went in, I knew goldhill a was the place to go for another round of color and blowdry.
I was a bit disappointed when I made my booking that Wes wasn’t available for the day I needed to go in, however one u got there and saw that Nicole was a color specialist, I knew I was in good hands.
We had a common interest in style so she took the color combination that Wes had originally chosen for me, but tweaked the red in a bit brighter for me., the end result was stunning… I finally got someone to achieve the exact color I had a ways pictured in my head.
Great atmosphere, Nicole was laid back and easy to talk to and she knows her shit!
Will definitely come back when I’m in town again.

I am a newbie to California from New Mexico and have been looking for a year for a salon that felt like home and had exceptional service. I FINALLY hit the Gold (hill) ! Oh me oh my I love my new hair/​color done by the fabulous Nicole! Honestly, everyone was super sweet to me from the moment I stepped in the door. I will for sure be a customer again and again! Thank you Goldhill for the best hair cut/​color that I probably have ever had in my life!!!

Finding a new salon is a tricky thing. I wanted something close and convenient. I wanted to connect with the salon and with my stylist. And I wanted new hair before the holiday weekend. A tall order.
The Unilocalers did not disappoint. I saw the ratings and the pictures for Goldhill and liked what I read and what I saw. I made an appointment for the Friday before a 3 day weekend. I saw this as a risk because who wants to be the last appointment while everyone is trying to get out of dodge for the holiday weekend. No risk here. Great salon with some very nice and genuinely cheerful people working here.
Nicole was my stylist. We connected immediately. She’s very down to earth and easy to talk to. She knew exactly what I was talking about in my wild description about what I wanted my hair to look like. I have short hair and it has a mind of its own sometimes. Nicole’s cut and color was the perfect aaaaahhhhhhh when I saw the finished product. Cannot wait to go back!

Just moved back to CA from NY and desperately needed a haircut! Haven’t cut my hair in almost a year so it was pretty bad. Found this salon and Wes on here and wanted to give it a shot, and the whole experience was great! My hair looks and feels amazing thanks to Wes and he was super sweet and informative with everything! Listened to what I had to say and also asked if I had any photos for him to look at for reference. I’d highly recommend him and this salon!

Love is the best word to describe my experience. The minute I walked in I felt like I had found my new home. Everyone was kind, and genuine.
Jill was my stylist and I must say I have never been more impressed by a stylist. She was so knowledgeable and direct. We talked about my hair issues and she knew how to help all of them. While she washed my hair she gave me helpful hints on how better to take care of my hair and scalp.
She knows her products and knows how to use them and she informed me why and what she was using and how each one worked. We talked about me wanting to grow my hair out and styles that worked best for my hair and face. I told her I don’t do much to my hair and she understood and gave me style tips, that I will use!
I got samples!!! Which is great because now if they work (I’m sure they will) then I will feel confident buying them. I have never felt better leaving a salon. It was worth every penny. I feel like a new person and I look amazing!!! Thank you so much ladies!!!

I have been looking for a fabulous stylist ever since I had to leave my favorite stylist when I moved from Las Vegas. I am SO happy I found Wes. He did exactly what I have been wanting everyone else to do and I am so happy! The hallmark of a great haircut is that it lays well without having to style it, and I can honestly say that about my hair. He also did my color and it looks great! I would definitely go see him. You won’t regret it!
