Gems & Jewels Bixby Knolls

We took two items here to have work done. Re-​sizing a ring and a pearl necklace. Both jobs were done professionally and in a timely fashion. Liz was our point of contact and she was very nice to talk to and work with. I would recommend Gems & Jewels.

I visited this shop for the second time looking for a special piece to honor my best friend for his birthday month and to purchase a gift for myself. Liz was extremely helpful and patient with the «estate» necklace that I decided on purchasing and went above and beyond in helping me find the right chain to go with it. I decided to also buy a moonstone necklace which had some flaws and due to the prong setting and fake diamonds that took away from the simplicity and brilliance of the stone decided to return for credit towards the purchase of the necklace. The next day I was not helped by Liz but Jeffrey who ended up charging me a $ 20 restocking fee and later after asking about this he was rude and condescending when I mentioned the receipt did not state this and he basically pocked the money. While in the store itself this behavior also was the same as I was trying to look at the stones in the necklace purchased. Most all high end establishments will have a magnifier for customers to look at inclusions in emeralds, rubies, or any precious stones and it is not any inconvenience to ask for this service before or after buying a piece. Also any fine jewelry should be certified as a natural stone and not synthetic. I will not be frequenting them again and will continue to support Imperial Jewelers in Seal Beach where my family and I have had custom work done and repair. Also please note that the prices here are quite high for what they do have and please shop around because we all deserve to be treated better.

I love this place. I trust them with family heirlooms and new jewelry purchases. Regardless of the occasion or piece, they are our trusted partner for our family’s jewelry. They have the perfect mix of years of experience coupled with youthful design ideas, concepts and inventory. What’s really nice is that they have a large selection of vintage pieces and vintage designs. They have an entire display of antique pieces. I go nuts every time I walk in this store.

Jeffrey is professional and kind. Though young, he is extremely knowledgeable, but not cocky. Service was great!

I purchased a new Wedding ring for my Husband from another jeweler and they were unable to size up from 10 to 15 and didn’t let me know this until a week before Christmas :(.
So the Saturday before Christmas I took it the Jeffrey at Gems & Jewels and he said it would be no problem to size it up but the chances of getting it done before Christmas were very slim. I left the ring hoping he could complete the job by Christmas eve. Well I received the call on Christmas Eve letting me know the ring was ready. I was and still am very thankful that he was able to make this happen. The ring turned out beautiful, you can even tell it was sized 5 sizes, my Husband loved it.
I recommend this Jeweler to anyone for any reason, they are great to work with.

Jeffrey the owner took great care of my grandmother’s ring. He also restored two necklaces (one gold and one Tiffany silver). I will definitely come back to check out the jewelry or have him work on my jewelry from now on. Definitely referring him to friends and family!

I had a watch over 20 years old that belonged to my grandfather so it had sentimental meaning. A piece of the leather band had broke and needed fixed. I didn’t want to replace the band since the point of wearing the watch was for it to be exactly how my grandfather wore it everyday. I went online and found Gems and Jewels. I called and spoke to Jeffrey the owner and he advised me to bring the watch in and he would take a look. So I took it in the next day, Jeffrey was very polite and helpful. He was able to fix my watch and added a new battery. The watch works and looks great and the best part is I get to have a piece of my grandfather with me everyday. Thank you Jeffrey.

I recently received a silver dollar from 18 72 which has been my little good luck charm it has a hole in it and has been sitting in my wallet for months and I felt I wasn’t doing this beautiful coin justice and I wanted to make it into a necklace. This was my first time getting a custom jewelry piece made and I must say I will be getting more done in the future I am very happy with the piece that was made, the price, and how comfortable I felt with Jeffrey and Lourdes. They walked me through the design process which for me could have been very stressful since I have a tendency to be indecisive. they could see the end result much clearer than I could and made me feel at ease they helped me decide on a chain length which is the perfect as well as the finish of the silver. I can’t say enough good things about this wonderful establishment. They are the personification of integrity, class, and old world craftsmanship. Jeffrey and Lourdes at Gems & Jewels are without a doubt the crown jewel of Bixby Knolls. Initially I went in for the first time to find a special ring for my 20^th anniversary. Not only did Jeffrey provide me with a beautiful ring, it was a one of a kind custom piece that is as unique as it is beautiful. When my wife saw the ring her eyes just lit up. To know that my wife is walking around with a ring on that no other person on the planet has is wonderful. I have since been back for everything from watch repairs to more jewelry purchases. Since I am very critical about my pieces, it is reassuring to know that they have all the work done in-​house by a professional craftsman. I am a certified watch fanatic so it is awesome to have a licensed Invicta dealer around the corner from my house. (yay me!) Referred by some friends, I went to Gems & Jewels. An heirloom watch had stopped working, and I needed it fixed at any cost. Jeffrey had substantially beaten another estimate I had gotten from another jeweler, but that wasn’t the point. I needed nice work on a rare piece.
The watch came back working perfectly and looking as beautiful as new.
Now I had a man I could trust.
The next project was even more sensitive.
I needed a ring resized while keeping the inscription inside.
The other jeweler told me it couldn’t be done, but Jeffrey told me he had the technician who could do it right.
Once again, the finished product exceeded my expectations.
I feel that because of Jeffrey’s personal concern for my heirlooms, I now have a family jewelry that I can trust.
