With the limited options we have on campus, El Pollo Loco seems to be my go to spot in the USU. Everything here is good but my favorites are the chicken tostada salad and the avocado salad! Don’t forget to get the light creamy cilantro dressing, Soooo Yummy!!!
The ladies working the register and the grill are always nice and try to get everyone what they want in a timely manner.
Prices are the same as any other El Pollo Loco. Seats can be limited during the lunch hour. You always have the option to take your food and sit under a tree.

I ordered the $ 5 chicken bowl, tortilla, and drink combo. It was pretty good, but I wish there was more chicken and less rice/​beans. But for $ 5 I can’t complain :)

verified MOLD found on a chicken leg of all food items. they were pretty confused when i showed them too. they remade my order and apologized, no hard feelings. I’m aware fungi and bacteria are pretty much everywhere and a natural part of life. but i’m a little scared to return…
the chicken leg was yummyy too… crispy skin hmmm (normally i avoid skin cuz its like 70% lipids)

CAUTION — FRADULENT BANK CARD USE AT THIS LOCATION…
I am a CSULB student and have used my bank card at this location in the past (probably last bank card purchase was a few months ago). I just learned that a fradulent purchase was made with my bank card at this location on 2÷29÷12.
According to my bank, they MANUALLY entered my bank card number to complete the purchase.
BE WARNED …

Chicken bowl was so-so.Nothing was fresh and the texture of all the beans and rice and chicken felt tough and not cooked well. El Pollo Loco in general has deteriorated in quality over the years. Maybe i haven’t tried the right food… will update later

I had el pollo loco the night before I had orientation at csulb. I was surprised that they gave me a free voucher for a chicken bowl at el pollo loco; I really liked my experience a the other pollo loco so I decided to use it for lunch so I didn’t had to buy lunch. I was sadly disapp

Con: not enough chicken. But I didn’t miss them, they were too dry and hard.
