Eduardo Renteria’s Upholstery & Refinishing

These are really good upholster’s. If the only bad thing you can say about them is that they are too busy, then that’s a good thing in my book. About 8 years ago I had two matching sofa’s and a 1930’s chase reupholstered by Eddy they did a fantastic job. I will be contacting them in the next few days to have a desk table top refinished… If there is a long waiting time, it’s worth it to have it done right.

I called Eduardo’s about getting a very large table refinished. They were out the next day to give me a bid and brought the table back sooner than predicted. The table looks brand new and I could not be happier!

This is a family business with skilled craftsmen. They upholstered a chair and a large chaise sofa for me. The sofa was previously upholstered by a company in Los Angeles and was a complete do over! My pieces are absolutely beautiful thanks to Eduardo and his team. I would definitely recommend and use him again if I ever have any other furniture needing his services. He is also professional and displays good customer service.

Then you have come to the right place. Eduardo is the business! I just had a couch restuffed, a 1960s bench reupholstered and restuffed t and what Eduardo did for my Duncan Phyfe dining room chairs? Sorry there are no words to express the joy I feel every time I look at them. I should end with a re-​enactment of what happens to me when I sit on the pieces Eduardo recreated… «OH MY GOD!!!»

I called and called and called. If this review could be a minus 0 it would be on here. They need a better system like a «we care about our future customers» and stick that memo on their foreheads as a constant reminder they need to get back and let the customer know they’re not forgotten. At least let people know how far down the priority list they are so we can adjust our schedules accordingly. I know there’s a lot of five stars on here for quality work, but their help… needs help.

I have been using Eduardo Renterias Upholstery for over 20 years I live in the Belmont Shore area, and his quality of upholstery and refinishing is outstanding, he reupholsterd all my furniture and worked on my kitchen and front doors, its pretty sad people have the time to put negative things on Unilocal with out knowing this family owned business, they conduct there business by scheduling if you cant get a hold of them you should stop by, they work for high end designers and restaurants and hotel, and they come highly recommended.

Are they still in business? I’ve called at least 3 times the last few weeks and they never responded.

He may be good… but he did not show up… TWICE. I even had a Spanish speaker set up the appointment for me the second time thinking the language barrier was the issue.

I had recently found the perfect dresser at an antique store, but it was maple, and the color didn’t match my existing furniture. I found Ed Renteria on Unilocal,and I am so happy I did! I had the dresser refinished and stained an espresso brown — it is perfect and beautiful now! He repaired a glide that was damaged as well.
I’ll admit, at first I thought the price was high, but I realize that this is a labor intensive job, and it was well worth the cost. Ed wasn’t the first refinisher I found, and his price was a little lower than the other guys I looked into. The deal maker was the time frame he offered me, which was several weeks faster than the competitors. I’m glad I went with Ed, because the work is superb, and I am more than happy with my «brand new» dresser. This beauty is going to last forever!
I’m already planning on having another dresser refinished by Ed, as soon as he can have it picked up from my house.

Fantastic service by the owner and staff, excellent craftsmanship at a reasonable price. The owner does much of the work and takes great pride in his work. They’ve been in business for many years and I would definitely come back.

There is no one I’ve dealt with in 65 yrs of homemaking that does furniture repair better than Mr. Renteria. His is a small, family business that truly takes pride in workmanship and finish. I had a Danish rosewood dining side chair that actually had a shattered leg. Mr. Renteria removed the broken one, made a new one — in rosewood — and replaced it. I’d defy you to decide which chair had the replaced leg. What a joy to have someone so qualified, careful I can turn to. He has just finished, ready for delivery, a drop-​leaf table that was completely ready for firewood before I rescued it. Completely restored, it now looks like it did 100 yrs ago.

Eduardo is fantastic! I had 6 wood chairs reupholstered and they look AMAZING! I am a bit OCD and he exceeded my expectations! The patterns match exquisitely on all the chairs, the density of the foam is excellent and he cleaned up and added to the sturdiness of the wood. He is also timely and the chairs were completed as he initially quoted. I will be using him again in the future!

Super friendly, family run business and the work is top notch. I took a ratty old 1940’s chair that I found at the LB flea market. They repaired the cushions and reupholstered the chair and ottoman and transformed that thing into a modern, beautiful piece of furniture. I couldn’t be happier. Eduardo recommends that you buy your fabric somewhere else b/​c he’s not in the business of stocking fabric, so his selection is limited and expensive. Clearly they focus on what they do best which is repair and renew. Highly recommend!

Eduardo is incredibly helpful and friendly. He helped us replicate and install some missing parts for an antique mirror we had recently purchased very quickly. You should give definitely give him a shot.

Thank you fellow Unilocalers for sending me to Eduardo. He reupholstered some chairs I bought on eBay and did an outstanding job for a very fair price. He made new seat cushions, three sets of covers and restrapped the bottoms of the chairs. I picked them up today and they look amazing!

Eduardo refinished a table and four chairs for us. He also reupholstered the four chairs and did the most amazing job on all the pieces. The table has been in my husbands family for several generations and was not in great shape but wonderful memories are attached to it. The chairs are about 100 years old and were purchased at an antique store about twenty years ago. We really thought we would have to replace the chairs because they were in such bad shape but after Ed returned the table we knew he would work magic on the chairs and indeed he did. We could not be happier with the quality of the workmanship. Amazing does not begin to descripe the transformation of these pieces. And then there’s the gentleman himself, kind, honest and a perfectionist. Someone you would be honored to call a friend and certainly someone we would ask to refinish or reupholster for us again.

I never had any thing reupholstered before.
Checked out Nunez upholstery and was quoted a price of over 20 – 25 $ for each cushion and pillow. After even bringing it for him to see.
Eduardo Renteria was gracious, kind, honest and much cheaper and did a FABULOUS job. He took the time to show me all the different foam and fiber. My couch is so comfortable now and I love it. I highly recommend his work. The location is a lot more comfortable as well with parking :)

I have used Eduardo for furniture work about a half dozen times for various reupholster projects. The projects include restoration of an antique couch, exotic wood veneering of custom made speakers, custom design and build of an upholstered coffee table and antique sofa repair work. Each time he has impressed and was committed to satisfaction. He sourced upholstery fabric for me sometimes and other times allowed me to bring in my own. The business is family operated and everyone I have dealt with were professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend their work!
