I was a first timer to Chronic Tacos. The food was pretty good. I ordered a bowl-rito and it reminded me of Chipotle. Overall though, the food was good and the quality was good as well. I feel like the parking was very inconvenient. Barely any spaces and it’s very small.

Just waited in line for over 30 mins to get a taco bowl. The chicken looks like it was cooked 7 hours ago, the rice has hard over cooked pieces in it, they had no Pico de gallo. I live like 3 mins walking distance from this location and I can safely say I will only go back as a last resort effort. This was not my first sub par experience at this particular location.

Good food – however it would be nice if they stayed open till the ACTUAL closing time – and not whenever the employees want to close up shop. I watched 3 other cars(4 including myself and the BF), have to leave empty handed due to the employee locking up 45 minutes early – yet watching us behind the glass looking at the closing time of 9pm. Apparently you have to show up two hours prior to closing time to grab a yummy burrito from this place. Oh well, it’s the franchise owners loss – every car was ready to spend $$$. So we booked it down to rubios – that wanted our money, and is open the hours they post!

Too bad this place doesn’t deserve a good rating since I last went in 2010. This time, I walked in and placed a to-go order; no smile, no greeting by the main guy, another guy from the kitchen rolled by, looking like he rolled out of bed without a shave or shower(their City of LB health dept rating did mark them off for employee practices) and the young woman cashier, had a dead glazed-eye look, and did not know what«baja style» was. Must have been her first day. When a new employee is not friendly on their first day, that’s not a good sign. I called their corp hq office, they were very apologetic, and offered me a gift card. I declined, I will never be back for mediocre, yet over-priced food($ 28 for two people).

MEH. Walked by this little surf shop looking restaurant after hanging out on the beach, craving some fish tacos. To my surprise they had a variety of tacos and burritos. We ordered a couple of tacos and horchatas and got free chips and salsa with our Unilocal check in. Once the tacos were made you could put any toppings on the tacos EVENGUACAMOLE for FREE! They had 3 different types of salsa, all pretty good, but none of them remotely spicy. The only good part was the horchata. Tacos were expensive, nor were they cheap. I think I would be able to find another taco shop with better tacos for the same price Environment: 2⁄5 Food: 2⁄5 Price: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5

I work down the street from this joint. This is the«bowl» i asked for. They had only put one spoonful of meat and i asked for more meat and they said it would be extra. So for«extra meat» all i got was one more spoonful. Really?! After waiting in line 15minutes. Lack of customer service and they really need to stop being stingy with meat especially in a tostada bowl. I get more in 2 tacos than this. Never going there again.

I tried the tortilla soup and it was not good. I only gave it 2 stars because customer service was good otherwise bit would be 0.

You can never go wrong with Chronic Taco! They have a lot of choices whether you’re craving something on the healthier side or you want to indulge in something a little heavier. You can taste how fresh their ingredients are and everything is made to order. The only downfall of this place would be that there is barely any room to sit inside so basically the only option is outside seating, which is cool since it’s really close to the beach but can get hot at times! Check it out. You won’t be disappointed

We stopped in here out of convenience — starving and burning up in this terribly long hot summer… hadn’t looked at Unilocal reviews — had no idea what was recommended or if the place was even any good! I’m happy to report it was… decent. I can’t say I’ll be dying to go back — but they had a good menu and a lot to choose from. I found that my breakfast burrito was a little bit spendy — they do have smaller burritos — but I wasn’t sure exactly the difference. I could have probably been ok with a smaller burrito. I got a regular breakfast burrito and added beans to it. It was enormous. Luckily I had just run 10 miles or else it wouldn’t have been an acceptable meal. My husband got the smaller bfast burrito and I got my toddler a veggie tacos with spanish rice and refried beans — side of guac which she devoured with our free Unilocal check-in chips. I prefer the Hole Mole breakfast burritos — and even more, the Nick’s Deli ones in Seal Beach. But in a crunch, these will do. Would like to try some of the other non-breakfast items to see if it ups their rating! Ambience is a little lacking at this location — but the one person who was working the front was pleasant.

The carne asada fries are aaaaamazing! We ordered it as a side with our tacos, but it can definitely be a meal on its own. The fish tacos are also excellent.

Tried the pastor burritos for the first, tasted very seasoned and well cooked, loved it. The chips weren’t as fresh as they could have been but still vey crunchy and accented the decent sauce with it. I’ll definitely be going again soon.

This place is ok although the one in long beach near the whole foods on pch seems alot cleaner. The chicken seemed over salted. I live close by so it’s convenient but if I had the choice I would drive to the one down the street.

The food is good(they could do with some sauciness), but the real bummer I ran in to the other day was not being able to app-ahead my order. For some reason, this location doesn’t have ordering like the other locations. It’s just down the street from my house, so I’ll keep going here when I need something quick and no-hassle. I wish it were a Qdoba or Freebird though.

Haven’t eaten here since I got food poisoning after eating here last year, but I’m mainly giving one star for the inconsiderate owner and employees. Constant yelling after closing is ridiculous. Be respectful of the people who live here. The owner always has some sort of work being done after midnight whether it’s fumigation, pest control, jack hammering, etc etc. Completely disrespectful. I understand it’s a younger crowd that works here, but it all starts with management. If the managers were good leaders for their team, these employees wouldn’t be outside screaming at each other and laughing and playing tag or whatever else is happening. During the day? No problem! But get your job done quietly(like professionals) and then leave. Don’t hang out in the parking lot with your music playing and hanging out until 1am. If you’re visiting town and you’re looking for a taco spot… Go anywhere besides here. The food is garbage and most of the employees don’t really care about anything.

Sooo good! Made to order hand held soft taco, perfect! Bumping good music inside one more star if it was playing out side! Big outdoor seating area, only counter space inside. The Spanish rice is very flavorful and the chips and salsas fresh… love it!

Went for the first time today because it was 4pm and The Gypsy wasn’t open yet. Gave it a try. It was ok. I had the fish burrito. I didn’t care for the spicy chili sauce they added to the burrito. Overwhelmed eveything else. Didn’t know this sauce was added. Had I known, I would’ve asked not to have it. I may go back. Just don’t want that chili sauce that overwhelms everything. Servers were cool. LB vagrants asking for money as we ate on the patio. Bothersome at times, but what can we do? This is Long Beach.

SMH(Shaking My Head, someone’s dad) at all the 1 – 2 star reviews regarding food and service. The food is bomb for Americanized Mexican and it’s not a rip-off. The steak is never gummy or dry, the salsa choices are great, and only homemade guacamole is better than Chronic Tacos.(In fact, if independent taco guys weren’t cheaper, we were going to have them cater our wedding) How can people complain about service? You stand in line(maybe), tell the kid what you want, and they make it right in front of you, and they ask you for money. If you want a hand job, go get a thai massage, jeez.

I have no clue what happened to this place! The flavor of food has changed, the employees suck, rush you and have no personality at all. They seem to close at 9 now. While we were outside eating, they turn the lights off on us. They acted like they forgot we were there what the heck! They were cleaning while there and rushing people out AT8:30!!! I’ll probably never come back.
