While I did not receive a Galatouburiko, I did enjoy their homemade apple lukamades while Edgar took great care of me. As I enjoyed a late afternoon, it was great to see more and more guests arriving to enjoy the ambiance and great delicacies this Greek business offers. Yummm, thanks, Café Ambrosia!

When I first moved to Long Beach I really enjoyed coming here. The pita sandwiches were fantastic and the food tasted really fresh for a very great price. Recently every time I order it gets less and less appealing. The past 3 times I have ordered anything with tzatziki(love tzatziki) it has been extremely bitter and overly garlicky to the point of a burning feeling on the tongue. I know that garlic is a main ingredient but this was gross and disappointing. I did some research and apparently the longer garlic sits in the sauce the more«bite» it has. So are they using bad garlic or do they keep using the same old tzatziki sauce… Don’t know. It’s pretty unappetizing and such a disappointment that the quality changed. Second, pork was super dry, not sure if this is consistent because it was the first time I ordered pork from here. Lastly, I order food for pick up a lot. If they tell you it will take ten minutes… Wait 15 to twenty, and you may STILL have to wait when you get there. I order food to-go so that I am not waiting so this sort of defeats the purpose. I’m taking a break from ordering from here. Just too disappointing getting home with this quality of food. Maybe I can find a place that can serve FRESH simple ingredient such as tzatziki sauce. Fingers crossed. Side note: the house dressing for the salad is AMAZING and is always AMAZING.

Nice ambiance, worse vegan food I, ve ever had. I ordered the vegan burger and it was sloppy and not good, i also ordered the vegan lasagna and it was worst than the burger. Their hummus has big chunks of garlic and the taste is overwhelming.

Fun local spot with a lots of menu options. I had the Gyro with pilaf. I did enjoy the gyro. I can not recommend the pilaf. it had no flavor. My friend had the lamb sandwich and he said it was good. I also had a house white wine and we shared some pita with dips. I enjoyed the dips a lot. I also really liked the people that worked there.

Went here for the first time on Sunday… It’s a really cute place and the ambience is great… The food is OK… Nothing to write home about but I am not coming back here again… And for one simple reason… The service… it took the service for ever to do anything… It took them forever to get our drink orders, bring us menus, take our order, bring our food, refills, everything… You name it it took them forever… it was absolutely ridiculous how long it took to do anything… they also don’t have kids menus so I had to pay $ 10 for a chicken sandwich and fries that my grandson barely ate half of AND all of us for our food before he even got his and his should have been the quickest to prepare. Prices are way too high IMO for this place… On a good note the fried zucchini was awesome and so was the baklava … However, even this will not justify me coming back

All day mimosas! What is not to love?! With my Unilocal check in I even got a FREE Baklava! I would and will be coming back here to see what else I can did my face into because the menu itself seemed like such a variety of flavor that I don’t want to miss out on any of it. I had the pancakes and they were fluffy and buttery and everything a simple pancake should be. The rest of my group of people didn’t leave a scrap of food on their plates because it was just that good. Service was friendly and on point with making sure our drinks were never less than halfway. So great!

Giving give stars to support local biz. I will miss being able to walk to Café Ambrosia to drink the $ 1.99 mimosas and eat the lovely beef dolma with the amazing sauce. Seriously, try it. Splurging on the lamb chops tonight and hoping they turn out nicely since the waiter didn’t ask how I wanted them cooked. Luckily rare doesn’t scare me, and I hope they’re not too done.

This place is hands down the most amazing Greek food in town! Everything is homemade(not frozen) I can tell because it’s nothing like I’ve had before! Cathy was our server and she’s just the most attentive, fast, sweetest girl ever! If you’re craving says Greek don’t bother going anywhere else! The atmosphere is also so relaxing you almost forget about the world around you.

Reasonably priced and decent food. However, they brought us two glasses with chips out of the rims. I told them that I hoped I hadn’t swallowed any broken glass. Otherwise, not bad overall. Oh, the park across the street is full of bums, so careful where you park.

It’s been years since I had a chance to eat at this lovely restaurant because I had moved back out East. The other day I came back to eat at one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. Here’s what I liked a) The Prices. This restaurant is reasonably priced. I specifically went here because the food is both of good quality and an inexpensive price. b) The Beef Kebab — it was quite delicious. I only wish I had a larger portion of the meat. The Orzo that i ordered with it could have been flavored better. c) The Stuffed Grape Leaves I ordered were absolutely delicious. I liked the lemon sauce that they came in. Yum! d) One of my friends recommends the Lemon soup. It is very good. e) My husband ordered Chicken BLT. He was surprised by the portion size and the flavor of his item. Aside from the food, the location is enough to warrant a visit. I liked the inside/outside feel of the place. The outside section is that of a garden setting. The owner makes sure that you are treated well. Everyone is friendly at this place.

I use to come here all the time when my fiancé lived around here. I always sat next to the coi fish. This place is a cute little gem. Very intimate. & they have so many vegetarian dishes that are all wonderful.

The first time I checked this place out I decided not to go because I read the menu that was posted outside and they only had 1 vegan thing on there(even though they advertise as a vegan friendly place). I eventually went because of a coupon I got in the mail, and this place was completely different from what I expected! They have many vegan options(a whole page of them) and the inside is much larger than expected and had a great ambiance. The food presentation was fantastic and they have large portion sizes for the prices. The menu is overwhelming, though. It needs to be simplified quite a bit. After I got inside I was very happy and will definitely come back.

I ate here with my boyfriend and family as a late birthday dinner for me. My sister lives in Long Beach so she’s the only one that had eaten there before, but my boyfriend and I are vegan so the large portion of the vegan menu was very appealing! When we came in, most tables were empty, but the QUICKLY filled up and the place was poppin’ for a Thursday night. My boyfriend and I actually arrived first and started with some bar shots and couple drinks in preparation for the social meal about to be had, but the drinks came out just as my family was sitting down(priceless, to say the least). Service was great throughout the entire night and we were really taken care of. We sat ‘outside’ and it wasn’t too cold that night. We were by the fire, so even better. We started with falafel and hummus and my parents got an appetizer but I don’t remember what it was as it was animal-something. I’ll be honest, I’ve had much better falafel, but it definitely was still a-okay! I enjoyed the hummus as well. I had a hard time deciding on my order but went with the tofu wrap. I was not expecting that monster wrap to be placed in front of me when our food was served. Generous portion sizes all around! Everything in the wrap was good, and I had fries which were also satisfying(ain’t nothing sadder than sad fries, am I right?) and everyone at the table enjoyed their meals as well. We’re actually moving to Long Beach in a couple months and I have a feeling we’ll be eating here wayyy more often, especially since this place has a parking lot that I’m not sure a whole lot of people know about. The restaurant is always packed, according to my sister, but the parking area was not as full as I expected. Or maybe everyone in Long Beach just walks everywhere because they don’t want to lose their parking spaces. ;) Either way, we look forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu!

Not the most amazing Mediterranean food, but it definitely serves its purpose. We lived close by so this would be a go to when we were too lazy too cook. I should mention we were also too lazy to go there(and risk losing our parking spot) so this was a go to for delivery. They are slow for delivery, we lived 2 minutes away but always took an hour. We knew this so it wasn’t a problem. The four stars and the review is based on convenience and expectation. When we order from here we know what we are getting. The food isn’t the best we ever had but it works for us and the way we order is a great deal. We order the chicken plate(2 full pieces of chicken breast) which comes with salad and rice. We also order the skordalia(perfect to use when we create our own wraps and it comes with extra pita). For two of this just ordering these two things creates 2 meals, so for us that is essentially 4 meals for around $ 20. On another note, we have gone and eaten at the actual restaurant once, the patio is nice, but we much prefer getting the food brought to us in our pjs.

OMG the food is so good! Me and my husband came here and got two roasted veggie platters on the vegan menu. He was going to get the vegan burger but I talked him into the platter. He was really happy I did when the food arrived. They make everything fresh when you order it. Not even cutting the vegetables until you order it. Such generations portion sizes. Oh and the hummus and pita bread so good! I can’t speak more highly of what we ordered. For dessert we used the free baklava check coupon. It was devine. I good size for dessert. So sweet and warm.

This is the best Greek I’ve had in long beach. The portions are large, the prices are fair, and the taste is on point. I ordered the gyro platter which also included a soup of the day. I believe the soup was chicken and rice and it was really good. The gyro platter was gyro meat, rice, vegetables, and pita bread. The gyro was of course the standout. It was delicious. I also tried some of the Greek salad with gyro added and again, delicious. And huge! This salad was a monster lol. Lastly, I tried the baklava which I liked. I’m not huge for pastries but it was good. The only thing that was lacking here was the service. Our waitress took a pretty long time and forgot about bringing us a few things. I can overlook it though because everything was so tasty.

I love how cosy this place is, and the food is good… BUT … The customer service can use a little work. I came here for lunch and no one greeted us… I walked by two guys and they didn’t greet us or say anything. So then my friend kept walking to the tables and I said that we needed to wait to be seated. Then all of a sudden, some guy who was wearing all black, texting and eating candy goes«oh sit where ever you want.» So we got seated and then apparently the other guy who passed us, also wearing all black worked there as well. We sat down and waited for about 10 min, then a lady comes out and gives us a menu and she is nice and friendly. There were two other male workers and this woman, but she was the only one who seemed to be actually working. During the meal, a customer comes in, while the lady is making drinks for a group of people, the two male workers were nowhere in site, but there was a man who was mopping the floor. The customer just stood there waiting to be served and greeted. The worker who was mopping the floor saw him and smiled and didn’t even bother to inform the woman that there was a customer around. The customer stood there and finally said«hello? Can I be seated?» The male mopping the floor just looked up and continued mopping. After about 10 – 15 minutes, the customer just turned around and left. SO… Poor customer service, but PROPSTOTHEWOMANWHOWORKEDTHEREWITHBLUISHHAIR! She was nice, friendly, and checked up on us.

If you’re anything like I am, you usually find something you like at a restaurant and that’s the only item off the menu you order when you visit. Sometimes you may try a different variation of the dish, maybe instead of getting the grilled chicken sandwich, you may decide to change it up by ordering the grilled chicken wrap. Either way, you’re sticking to the chicken. Well this place would’ve easily received a solid four star rating from me if i had just stuck to the chicken. But my adventurous side came out and i gave the beef a try. I shouldn’t have. My go to item is the Chicken Kebab Plate. The chicken is always juicy and served with a garlic sauce that compliments the chicken well. It’s served with pita bread and rice and is always very filling. I’ve ordered the Greek Salad and added chicken to is and have been very pleased. The Grilled Salmon Salad is good as well. The one item I wasn’t too pleased with, is the Beef Kebab Plate. It wasn’t terrible but I think I was just disappointed after being so impressed with the chicken. The beef was ok but had a bit of a funny flavor and the portion is significantly smaller than the chicken serving here. Out of the few times I’ve dined here, there service has always been good excpet for one time. Like most of Long Beach, parking is pretty much an Olympic sport, so good luck with that. there is a small lot specifically for the restaurant but it’s very small. Check in on Unilocal and you’ll receive a complementary baklava.

Never a disappointing bite! I think I am going to be a regular here. My friend and I came for lunch this past Saturday. We knew the portions were large so we decided to order one dish together, my favorite the gyro platter. It was delicious! They typically serve the dish with steak fries, salad, pita and huge chunks of meat. The lady was very nice to bring us two additional plates and an extra order of tzatziki sauce. We also ordered two dollar mimosas that just hit the spot. The combination of indoor and outdoor seating with a garden makes the place feel that it is a part of history.
