Life changing church! Strong word preached every Sunday and great praise and worship music. This has been my family church for over 15 years. There is powerful ministry for children, youth, college-age, men, women and children. The church has teams that minister to the community through outreach, VA nursing home and the prisons.

This place is amazing! Great pastor who doesn’t give in to time crunch like others. The person who said this place is a cult probably wants to put in a hour on Sunday and that’s it. This pastor is old school! He doesn’t care if your out by noon! What a breath of fresh air! HE’S JUSTOLDSCHOOL! Which is what this country needs! PREACHONPASTORBAGWELL!!!

We attended Word of Life for(I am ashamed to say) a year before we saw the light and left. The church is basically a family business. Tim Bagwell is a dynamic speaker but his message is nothing but the prosperity gospel, keep giving and you will get your«blessing». He frequently will prophesy over people but over time you realize those prophecies don’t come true. Some scripture will be interjected into messages from time to time but if you really listen to what he says it’s the same fluff. Basically the church is owned by the Bagwell family. They live lavish lifestyles off of the backs of the members of the church. They drive fancy cars, live in million-dollar homes, and are treated like celebrities(when they drive into their reserved spots people are there to open their doors, hold umbrellas, etc). Their sons(who have no gifting in preaching) are on the payroll too. The congregation is a revolving door of people who come, get sucked into believing their«blessing»(financial) will come, then when it doesn’t they get disillusioned and leave. For the«first lady»(pastor’s wife) birthday they had people with decorated baskets stand by the stage and people were instructed to walk down and deposit their gifts. For weeks before the pastor reminded people to «slip a little something» into their birthday cards for her. Here this is supposed to be a place where people worship God but the focus is on the pastor’s family getting money. Disgusting! The women’s ministry is nothing but a glossy magazine with fluff articles that always has the pastor’s wife on the cover. Does this sound like a church? I am a devout Christian and fortunately after this experience my husband and I found a great church where the true Gospel is preached and not this blasphemy. It is amazing that a family can basically own a church and reap all of the financial benefits from tax-deductible member donations. I often wonder how much cash from the offering plates never gets reported.
