Food and service were great, but they’re closed now. Hopefully the new sushi place they opened makes up for not having Thai Orchids anymore.

2 stars for the food but with happy quick service, a 3 overall. I came here for a quick lunch this week pretty close to when they open. I was promptly and politely created by the only person running the front that morning. I ordered«Royal Chicken“which was described as the thai version of cashew chicken. The menu said it came with fried rice and a spring roll for the regular entrée as a lunch special. However at the beginning I was also brought out a tiny salad with too much peanut dressing. A few minutes later my entrée came. It looked pretty yummy but once I dug into it I realized that it did not have the flavors I was hoping for whatsoever. It was really salty and a little bit too sweet. I’ve had Thai cashew chicken at a lot of different restaurants and it usually has a pretty delicate and very flavorful brown sauce. This sauce reminded me of Kung pow chicken without the heat plus a little extra sweetness? Additionally, some of the chicken bites were really really soft and almost gummy while others looked normal but were super hard, tough and almost seemed like gristle. It was bizarre and unpleasant. Less than about 1⁄3 of the chicken seemed completely normal and as someone who cooks a lot at home I was hard pressed to think of any weird cooking method that could have resulted in such weird inconsistent chicken. The fried rice was pretty uninspired. Kind of plain and bland for Thai fried rice. Reminded me of food court rice. It had quite a bit of egg in it but I couldn’t even taste it. The spring roll was pretty typical but it did not have any thin little rice needles in it like they usually do, so as a result it was a little bit heavy on the stringy cabbage. I stopped eating a bit before I was done because the sauce was not very pleasant and with the chicken texture being so awful I ran out of bites that looked like they would be edible. However, there was quite a bit of food left on my plate and if it was good I would’ve taken it home and made a second meal of it. Instead I left the food on the plate, paid my check and went on my way. The waitress who helped me was very friendly and pleasant and quick with everything. I really can’t remember if she asked how things were but I think she did however it was at beginning of the meal before I’d had many bad bites, so I didn’t really use that opportunity to let her know I wasn’t happy with the entrée. While I was sitting there someone who ordered crab Rangoon had their appetizer delivered to the table and it looks really yummy. I can’t say for sure how the interior was but they seem to be enjoying it immensely. If I returned I would absolutely choose different things on the menu but I can’t imagine why I’d try it again. I think Udom has faaaar better Thai and I’d probably go to Egg Roll King for better Americanized Chinese.

food is good — 3.5 star service was aweful. why — they are understaffed and the waitresses think«fast» instead of complete. they don’t pay attention and work what’s in their face rather that the people that are there first. it’s a restaraunt, not a fast food joint. overall — disappointing.

I went looking for Malaysian dishes only to be told they were taken off the menu since their Malaysian cook no longer works there :(So disappointing! Also they don’t serve alcohol. Other than that the food & service were good.

I have been getting food from here for a very long time! This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant hands down. The food is yummy and good quality, the service is fast and friendly and they have good prices! The only thing I don’t like about it are their business hours. They don’t make sense for a Chinese restaurant!

We called them and they no longer offer the«Other menu,» featuring malaysian cuisine. I’m so dissapointed and tired of mainstream american Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese or «popular» asian cuisine.

I’m not sure I understand all the four and five star reviews. If they think this is really that good, I think I may feel a little bad for them that they haven’t had truly good food before. I got an order of Penang Curry to go. It was ready for me when I got there, and the staff was very polite and nice! The food came with soy sauce and a fortune cookie. I’m not sure if the owners of these«non Chinese» Asian food restaurants either think Americans are dumb, or if they’re trying to please everyone. Either way, they should stop it, and focus on being authentic. The curry was a little bland. Not terrible, but certainly not great. Needed some more spice too, but that’s my own fault. The snow peas were good, but it also had potatoes, which tasted a little strange and out of place.

I’m very surprised to read such glowing reviews of Thai orchids. I was very disappointed with our $ 30 meal, which included Pad Thai and a drunken noodle, both completely void of any flavor or spice. The noodles were dry, the chicken tasted old. I hope they were just having an off night, but I don’t think I’ll be brave enough to try it again.

Great place to eat. Grabbed lunch with my GF and we will come back very soon. I would recommend to anyone. We ordered green curry and panang chicken. The food was fresh and they were very quick bringing the food out.

I have to say this was very good Thai. We ordered Thai Basil Fried Rice with Beef and the flavor was amazing. My son ordered his go to choice of Pad Thai Beef which was a nice size portion. It was a bit on the sweet side which you expect for this dish but at the same time the heat breaks through nicely. I loved the décor with rich purple colors and unique lighting fixtures. The staff was welcoming and efficient with more water and taking our order.

I was at the Thai Orchids Asian Bistro today to pickup a to-go order. Ordered the The Penang curry based on Jim K. s review. less than 9 bucks and very tasty. Served very neat in a divided plastic container. They said 10 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes later and still had to wait a couple of minutes. Not horrible. I did like all the carrots, potatoes, broccoli, and lots of chicken. Spice wise is perfect. I love it.

Good, decent Asian food. The hot and soup soup is on the better scale. The food seems fresh and authentic. We use GrubHub and they always seem to get their food here fast and hot. We are fans of this place for fast and tasty delivery.

The Penang curry and the Thai fried rice are just killer. I pretty much get that every time I go. I have been with other people and they’ve tried other things and it said they are great. It’s very close to home and the food is always been great so we’ve an order for delivery at times also

When we went to the Denver area last week, we were really hungry when we got there, and the first restaurant we saw that my husband felt like eating at was this one. So, regardless of the reviews, we went there. When we first walked in, no one acknowledged that we were there. We walked around looking for a table that was sufficient for our little family, and we even went to go get our own high chair for the little one. The waitress, first day on the job, finally saw that we were there and said sorry. Okay… Then, the little one started to cry. I think the waitress was scared because she was going to bring our table water, then left and gave another table water instead. We waited 20 minutes for the girl to come back and ask us if we wanted water. By then, we had already taken a menu and figured out what we wanted, but she didn’t stay long enough to take our order. 15 minutes later, the girl finally realized that she didn’t take our order and asked us if we knew what we wanted. Well, of course we did by now! Being hungry, I was getting a little irritated, but my husband didn’t want to leave, so we stayed. 40 minutes later, yes, 40 minutes after the girl took our order, we still did not have anything to eat, but the table that came in after us did plus multiple take out orders were ready and the waitress even delivered an order while we were sitting there watching. It was a very interesting yet irritating experience I must say. By then, a couple had walked in and the waitress didn’t even see them. We told here that she should probably take their order and she said okay. We finally got our appetizer 50 minutes after ordering. It was good. By now, I’m so hungry, I’m not sure if it was good because I was hungry or if it was really good. About 5 minutes later, we got our dinners. I got the pad thai with tofu and my husband got the eggplant something or other. The food was really good, but like I said, it may have been skewed because of how hungry I was. I can say, if people love this place, it has to be because of the food and atmosphere. I forgot to mention, the restaurant is very nice. It was freezing when we were there and we all had to wear our jackets. It was weird because in the bathrooms, it was like a sauna! Anyways, the food is really good, but don’t be surprised if you have terrible service.

Have been in with a group of 8 twice now. Had excellent service, relaxing environment, and amazing meals! The green tea is great. The crab Rangoon are the best we’ve ever had. They have perfect pad Thai, sesame chicken, udon soup, and Penang curry to name a few. Also did pickup for lunch. Healthy and affordable lunches. Mongolian beef and garlic ginger chicken were really good. They deliver also. Interior has nice colorful lights, tiles, and fixtures that really stand out. Great for a low key date night.

Went in for lunch with my daughter on a Sunday. Great service and comfortable classy atmosphere. Deor is very pleasing and modern. I had a super healthy fresh steamed chicken and vegetables. Very good. My daughter had the sweet-and-sour chicken not so healthy but still very tasty. The service was very good. The food was hot and fresh and prepared very well which will make me go back soon.

Meh is the perfect way to describe the food here. I stopped here for lunch the other day with a fellow Unilocaler and for being in a strip mall, the inside is very serene and almost trendy. Staff was very friendly and they are very generous with water refills(almost a little too friendly, my bladder was about to explode!) They have the typical Thai fare on the menu, I always have to go with my standard Chicken Pad Thai medium spice since it’s a safe bet and I love it. Even though the lunch portion was huge, I was disappointed. It was swimming in sauce and almost seemed like a pad thai soup rather than noodle dish. Then there was the sauce, it was more like a watered down sweet and sour sauce than the traditional peanut sauce it’s supposed to be in. With the name«Thai» in the name of the restaurant I really didnt have any apprehension about coming here. But now reading through the reviews, they have Malay and Indonesian fare so that could be the reason why the sauce isn’t right(I’m a firm believer in sticking with one cuisine, not representing several countries). I was so hungry that I ended up scarfing it down but by the time I finished, realized I didn’t like it and per Jim Gaffigan, that’s how you know you’re a pig lol. Plus they say you get rice and a spring roll with all lunch entrees and there was no sight of that. I would save my money and go elsewhere if you’re looking for authentic Thai.

I enjoyed my visit here. I enjoyed my food here. Yet, I wasn’t overly excited about the whole experience. I’ll even probably be back, but I still can’t say«Yay, I’m a fan!» quite yet… I took Riza H.C.‘s advice and requested the small, «specialty» menu and ordered the Chow Kway Teow. I don’t know anything good from anything bad in terms of authenticity of this type of food but I really enjoyed my meal. I tried something new, and really enjoyed the wide rice noodles with egg and veggies. Service was pretty good, frequent water refills, and being checked on more than once, including by the owner I believe. There were only a handful of tables during weekday lunch so it’s a good option when you don’t feel like a wait. I will likely be back as it’s very close to my work. And I do have the occasional craving for Thai, and other similar cuisines. I’m looking forward to trying some other interesting looking dishes are that secret menu because who doesn’t like being in on the secret?

I was hesitant, to bring Hubs to this establishment coz do not know what to expect. When we arrived, they gave us the NORMAL menu. Then when I look around, in the kitchen and found out the former staff and her hubby were there, then I knew what to get, and hoping Hubs will like it… RULE of the DAY : ORDER from«The Other Menu». Its a small booklet menu in white folder and its laminated. Recent visit was on Tuesday December 24th2013. Early Dinner. Time was about 18:00hrs. From«The Other Menu» we opt to order these following items : * Chicken Satay($ 5.95) * Roti Canai($ 5.95) * Beef Rendang($ 12.95) * Chow Kway Teow with SHRIMP($ 11.95) +($ 0.75) * Steamed Rice($ 1.50) The Chicken Satay and the Roti Canai was A-Okay. The Roti Canai, dipping sauce was somewhat a diluted laksa curry sauce of somekind. Still intrigued with the sauce though. How I wish they made their own Roti Canai, but personally I don’t think they do. *Sigh* Then comes our order of Beef Rendang and Chow Kway Teow. This is LEGIT people. Though I cannot deny the Beef Rendang lacks some key ingredients, but still its doable and tasty. The Chow Kway Teow with«srambled eggs», green onions/scallions and bean sprouts hits the right spot in my tummy. Just how I remember, how Chow Kway Teow should be. The Chow Kway Teow, is flavorful with greasy-goodness. If you want Singaporean or Malaysian food, you HAVE to travel down South to this establishment. Hubs was surprised indeed. The staffs also offered us, the Sambal Belacan and Chilli Oil as extra condiments since we like our food SPICY. The Sambal Belacan is good for my standards, SPICY and have that«punch» that I am used to since I grew up in Singapore. All in all, I am thankful that I find another outlet that can offer, «Singaporean» or «Malaysian» comfort food to Hubs liking. Definitely returning when needed. Take note, while we were there since its the Xmas Eve, this establishment is indeed SWAMPED with patrons alike. Almost of the seats were filled. So give them time and once again ORDER From the WHITEMENU or «THEOTHERMENU»… Thank me later. Thai Orchid Asian Bistro 9231 E. Lincoln Ave, #1100 Lone Tree, CO80124 Tel:(303)-706−9999 @1/2014
