Carne Asada taco was very average, Margarita was good. Hope that helps, I heard that they are going to have 2 dollar draft beers soon… We shall see

This is now a MEXICANRESTAURANT. Former owners ran a meat market /deli. Ceviche Tostada is very tasty & refreshing. For«car food» or for low carb fare, ask for it in a to go cup! Avocado Salsa is a mild & delicious accompaniment. Pork Tamale, served with a small salad, is also a good choice. Tender & well seasoned, with a good amount of meat filling. Service was friendly and prompt. They really want to please. I will have to come back to try 7 Seas Soup, Seafood Cocktails & Tortas. Recession Fighting Tips: At $ 3.99, this is the best place to get your Ceviche Tostada Salad. Good prices are to be found on most menu items and generous combo meals.

I’m not sure if it’s still considered Vista Verde or not but the sign is still there on both the window and the façade and it’s been at least a year since I noticed that they are affiliated with The Taco Company, which is based out of San Pedro. I will probably open a new entry for Taco Company regardless. I walked in at around 3pm on a Tuesday and I could hear a pin drop. It was deserted. Not a good sign but it was a weekday afternoon. I think they make their money on weekends from looking at all the posters and advertisements on the wall for specials only available Friday — Sunday. I had to ask if they were open because the lady behind the counter looked at me as if I was walking in on something. She kindly said yes of course, so I looked at the menu and ordered a Lengua Torta. They had the usual tacos, burritos, tortas, tostadas with your usual cuts of meats(lengua, cabeza, asada, carnitas, pollo, etc) Prices were fair but the menu is pretty confusing and unorganized. I think there were other combo plates with chile verde and relleno and such but I didn’t see it until after I ordered. Food was up quick since I was the only one around. I drove it home and opened up the bag. It was a big torta for sure but that’s not always a great thing. I like my tortas a little messy but this thing just fell apart after my first bite. Not too much meat but what was there was pretty tasty. The torta came with chips and a roasted jalapeño as sides. The chips were okay and the chile was good. The salsa was not bad but could have used a little more thickness and heat. The good: It’s authentic and it’s moderately priced. Also, the weekend menu looks good(pollo asado, menudu) so we have to try it out. The bad: Menu is rather scattered so you have to take a while to see what you want. Torta was okay but it wasn’t bad at all. For the price, I would try something else soon. They should change their sign to attract more customers because the Taco Company sign is overwhelmed by the Vista Verde Deli signs so unless you really look, it’s going to be overlooked. It’s on a part of PV drive that people really don’t slow down to sight see. If you’re in the area, give them some business and check it out. It’s next to a Jack n the Box so skip the paste tacos and give Vista Verde a try.
