The Parlor Shop

Based on my first time here… It was amazing.
I wanted a new look for prom so I told my stylist to surprise me with something short but sleek. So I met a stylist who gave great advice and it seemed she knew what she was doing. At the end it turned out great. I got compliments the next day at my prom. Anyways, the interior is really nice and attractive and there are stylists who are professional and easy to talk to.

I recently moved into the area and been trying new Barber shops. The Parlor Shop, came up on a Unilocal search, so I figured I’d give it a try. Very nice atmosphere, well laid out, greeted by staff and get this a beverage is included with the hair cut, beer and wine, are also offered in that choose. So I had a beer, go figure! Kat (Katrina) was my barber and she and I had a great conversation, and before I knew it my hair cut was over. And I looked much better then when I entered the shop, meaning I got a very good hair cut from Kat. I will be back for a glass of wine or beer, I mean a hair cut soon.

Had the worst experience tonight at our usual place when KAT the «stylist» butchered my sons hair cut! She cut it way to short and uneven on sides! KAT was very unprofessional! She decided to make a phone call while cutting my sons hair and when I told her we would wait she rudely replied ‘I’ve been cutting hair a long time!!”. Rudeness didn’t end there… when I shared my concerns about the massacre cut she rolled her eyes, snickered comments and was unapologetic! She didnt listen to what we wanted on the cut and KAT is in desperate need of customer service skills!!! Never going to KAT again… she’s in the wrong line of work!!!

So after my misfortune, I gave this place another chance and the outcome was great Suzy hope I spelled that correct did an excellent job and yes I will be returning very soon… and to the manager thank you so much on being professional about this and letting me get my make-​up cut …

This wasn’t my usual spot, but after coming here a couple of times, now it is! Need I say more?

If you’re looking for a barber/​stylist shop with a cool atmosphere and talented artists this is the place! The prices are reasonable and the entire staff from the front desk to the barbers and stylists are fantastic. I’ve had my hair cut by a few different stylists and they have all done a great job each time.
Trina is my go-​to stylist! She pays very close attention to the details and she’s a great conversation.
This is one of the best shops I’ve ever been to. Atmosphere is similar to a Floyds but it’s not so over-​played. The stylists take their time and do a good job instead of rushing you out to get to the next customer leaving you with a busted haircut.
I’ll keep coming back as long as the doors are open. Keep up the good work!

Hey. So, I am completely stoked about my t8ke at Parlor. I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut and beard cleaned up by Megan. She gave so much attention to detail when taking care of me. It is no wonder that she is at the helm of this shop. She took my very vague thoughts about what I wanted and worked her skill and magic. I will definitely return and ask for her to cut my hair every time. Thanks Megan!

A huge shoutout to Amanda for fixing my beautiful disaster.
On Saturday, I returned to my usual place for my usual short cut with lots and lots of choppy layers; only, I found out that would be my last. Layers weren’t cut right, I got bangs when I didn’t ask for nor want them, and the entire time, the chick just kept apologizing while simultaneously continuing to murder these precious locks.
With some googling around I stumbled upon this place the next day, and was able to be accommodated with an afternoon appointment and that’s where it all began.
In all seriousness, I didn’t think my hair was fixable without having to cut it shorter, which I did by Amanda’s recommendation anyways, but I trusted her and am not regretting that decision.
She knows how to razor cut like you wouldn’t believe; she listens and asks for your opinion as she’s cutting. She will be my go-​to, and this place is definitely more in-​tune with the edgier, newer styles.

Love this place! I travel for work and was in the area and desperate for a cut. Cat was awesome! She totally got me and got my hair cut right! If I’m in town and need a cut I’ll definitely be back.

This is my go to shop when someone screws up my hair, just a trim or I need a drastic change I can proudly sport in public. First off they are always accommodating, even if they’re busy, willing to move people around to do anything they can to get you in and looking fabulous! The staff are so funny, inviting and warm. They’re always smiling, happy and cracking jokes — that’s the kind of environment I definitely want to be in when sitting in a chair stationary for a while. And lastly their work is always on point — I never walk out disappointed and if they see you’re not so happy they will gladly fix. That’s great service if you ask me! I would recommend this place to any of my girlfriends looking for a color change — drastic or normal, any guy friend who wants a good classic or unique cut, and even my grandma who gets her usual blowout. I’m glad I’ve found my forever salon.

So we came to this place after reading good reviews for my toddler son’ haircut. But I could not get the service as they gave our spot to someone else even when we waited and told us to come next day. Extremely rude people. Did not get a friendly vibe at all from the get go. They are not family friendly place at all. Please don’t bring kids here.

Came in here for a walkin, and the front desk totally botched the experience. They need to learn how to talk to customers. Rude behavior and attitude as if this is club med. Staff here needs a reality check. This business may have good overall reviews, but if they continue this level of customer service, it may not last as long.

I was in there when this lady went off the handle for no reason at all! They couldn’t fit her in because they are packed on weekends. Because they are good. I’ve been coming here for years — before they moved locations. My son has been getting his hair cut there since he was born. He loves the place and asks me all the time when can I come back. They have a super friendly kids atmosphere in fact 4 kids were in there when I was just getting my hair cut. And they weren’t crying. Meghan is the best — but honesty I’ve never had a bad haircut. I hate when people are having a bad day and then they try to sabotage a great place with a bad review. They better be careful– you can get sued for negative reviews on Unilocal if the place can prove you aren’t telling the truth.

Gotta give some more props to Nathan and Noah. My cut was excellent as always, but I threw Nathan a curve ball to see if he could give my 6-​month-​old boy his first hair cut (on the fly). Given that Nathan does not specialize in baby cuts, he did a phenomenal job and since it was my boys 1^st cut, he truly hooked me up! Noah played Thomas the Train on his phone to keep the baby distracted while Nathan did his thing (scissor cut).
Afterwards, Noah printed out the babies first cut certificate which was very useful for the 30 pictures we took with the baby later.
We got home and mommy was happy. Which was the final test.
These guys are always reliable, professional and never disappointing.

I Love My Hair !!!
It had been 9 months since I last colored my hair, I was totally overdue. I’m very picky with who colors or cuts my hair, luckily I got an appointment with Susie.
Upon arrival, I was greeted right away and offered a beverage. The salon is sort of contemporary architecture like with exposed bricks in the wall and high ceilings and glass windows. Very clean and bright — well lit. Other clients seemed to be enjoying themselves chatting with their hairdresser while getting a cut.
Susie and I chatted a bit to go over my hair, what I had done and what I was looking for. Immediately I felt comfortable talking to her, she is very likeable and charming. For this visit, I needed a color to cover the brassy lowlights and even out my overall color. She totally knew what she was talking about suggesting lightening my roots then going over the bottom half of hair. I trusted her experience and glad I did !
The color turned out amazing ! It was very natural and shiny and so healthy looking ! Not only that but my hair smelled crazy good ! Its like, can I buy that shampoo somewhere??? ;)
My mom referred me to The Parlor Shop after she got a cut with Megan and after seeing the reviews I wanted to give them a try.
Did I say how much I loved my hair? :) I will definitely come back to see Susie.

So I’m going to be honest. I haven’t paid for a haircut in about 10 years. Normally I just shave my head and bam! I’m done!
But this time around I decided to not shave my head for a few months. But then it started to look a bit out of control (to my standards. Lol) and my cousins wedding was just a few days away, so I decided to bite the bullet and pay for a haircut.
I was almost having an anxiety attack just trying to figure out which barber shop too go to. So I asked one of my coworkers, since he lives in Torrance, where he goes and he suggested The Parlor. Worked out cause it’s really close to me.
My first visit was a fail. Apparently I went on the day that all the kids wanted to look fresh before going back to school. So I set an appointment for the next day.
So I come in on a Tuesday and was offered a drink after I checked in. I met my barber (sorry! I forgot you name. This is what happens when I wait to do reviews. Lol), I told her I just wanted to clean up the side of my head and not to touch the top. She was very social. I think the whole time we just talked about eating places. Lol!
She cleaned me up very well. Definitely did a good job.
Price: I think it was $ 23. This is the main reason why I shave my own head. Lol.
Service: really good and friendly. I didn’t tell them I haven’t been to the barbers in a long time, but they made me feel comfortable.
But I’m going to go back to shaving my own head. Having hair is too much work. Loll. So it might take me another 10 years before I make another appearance inside a barber shop. But I’ll definitely keep The Parlor in mind if I need a cut.
