Not for me. Just a high priced Albertsons. Only been there a few times and I just shake my head at the prices. Stopped in for a loaf of bread and some bleach. On a Saturday morning they had no bread. The bread aisle was missing 80% of the items. OK, no bread, which was a good thing as I noticed the cheapest bread was about $ 4. On to the bleach, damn, more sticker shock, only got the smallest bottle they offer due to cost. I looked at other items while browsing through but the prices were just ridiculous. I cant see them being around much longer.

The rudest thing was the very first day they switched over they took the prices of everything that was already in the store and raised it by $ 1. I know you didn’t pay more for the product that was already there. If I want to pay inflated prices I have options like Whole Foods closeby. Sorry Haggen but you can’t charge North West prices in this area contrary to popular belief LA really isn’t a high cost of living town at least not for groceries EDIT: I just heard they let Mark the blind bag boy go. His corny jokes are the only reason this store still has a hometown feel. For shame.

Have been disappointed since day one. Now only go when I have to, but go kicking and screaming. Had been a long time customer of Albertson’s, pretty much same staff now with Haggen’s but they don’t seem as happy anymore. Now when you walk in, there is hardly anyone in there, not like it used to be. They could have done more improvements on the inside if they expect us to pay more $$$$. I have found other grocery solutions now, and feel better about spending hard earned money again.

Shame on Haggens, they have let go one of the best«box boys» in the South Bay. Mark is handicapped and has been told by Haggens’ management that there is no longer a need for his services. Seriously! He may not be the fastest at bagging our groceries, but he greets every customer with a smile, asks how your day is, tells you a corny joke and thanks you for your business. Not only do you raise your prices to ridiculously high, you now let probably one of the stores biggest assets go, heartless! Is this discrimination??? Unfortunately I had to choose a star rating, but there are no negative stars, it should be –100.

I live in Lomita and must agree with all the other one star ratings. I too was looking forward to Haggens opening, not because I did not like Albertsons but because I had never heard of Haggen. Today, I wish I still hadn’t heard of Haggen. On average, every item rose an average of $.50 in cost. My favorite food items have been replaced with the Haggen brand, none of which have any flavor. I have actually walked in the store on more than one occasion and walked out empty handed. The parking lot, once full, now has numerous open spots. The cashiers, once all open, now have one or two open at best. Why? Because their customers are dwindling away. I now shop anywhere but there. As one viewer mentioned, they don’t care about our community and our needs; they only care about making money by providing horrible product. I’d give anything to have Albertsons back. I see that many of the employees remained but I wonder for how long. I would be embarrassed to work there. October 29, 2015 I see the Lomita store is closing. It doesn’t surprise me. A store must rely on its community to be successful. Haggens didn’t take that into consideration. They just blasted in, changed the product, raised the prices and then expected Albertsons customers to continue to shop. I am hoping another grocery store will take its place because we need one in Lomita. A Ralphs, Vons, or Pavillions would probably succeed.

When Haggen took over the prices all got higher(Seriously, $ 6.50 for a dozen eggs!!!) And the customer service got worse. There is rarely anyone around to help you and don’t even bother with the self checkout, if you need help you’re gonna be waiting a while. You know, the only good thing I ever had to day about them was«at least they don’t mind sharing that huge parking lot with their neighbors…» but I can’t even say that anymore as they started posting signs on cars INTHEALMOSTNEVERUSEDBYCUSTOMERSBACKROWFARTHESTAWAYFROMTHESTORE saying they will be towed. On their busiest day Haggen couldn’t even fill half of that parking lot. Now they’ve basically flipped the bird to all locals who used to take solice in the back of the old albertsons parking lot when there was no(and rarely is there ever) street parking available. Haggen, I will no longer shop at your stores. The high prices made me skeptical but your selfishness over sharing the parking spots that your customers never use with the few people that actually would shop at your store if just for convenience alone has been the last straw. R.I.P. ALBERTSONS. Update 7÷1÷15, Now Haggen no longer allows you to get money orders(which my and pretty much all the other apartment buildings on Narbonne that don’t accept personal checks require in order to pay rent) with your debit card as Albertsons did. Cash only. Thank for screwing the local residents once again! We all hate you and hope you go out of businesses soon! Update 7÷21÷15, Surprise, surprise! It appears Haggen is run by crooked theives, who’d have guessed? They decided they don’t really need to pay for all that inventory they acquired when they bought the stores. More profit for them!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My very FIRST visit to the newly opened store(name change from Albertsons to Haggen) was not a good experience. I won’t be back. The what appeared to be the store mgr insisted without hesitation to break my $ 20 bill so that I could pay for a $ 0.10 bag! I was surprised and asked him a second time because my order was complete, paid for except for the bag. He said $ 0.10. No please no fanfare. Poor customer service in my opinion. And a big thank YOU for causing me to visit Smart & Final… their store is so nice now, new and fresh produce, affordable!

I hate this store and all their stores! Im sorry but Albertsons was wayyy better. The Fried Chicken is soggy and bland… the prices are ridiculously high… i should go to Vons if thats the case! They need to do a survey of what the people want… big business only care about getting our money. Even the employees look depressed!!! Get it together Haggen!

Tried them this week for the first time. Got some decent to good deals on fresh produce and frozen organic foods. However, overall the prices seemed higher than Ralph’s or Von’s for most grocery items. My takeaway: An upgrade from tired albertsons. Yet for a little bit of $ they could upgrade the store décor/vibe a bit more for an even more positive shopping experience.

I wish to thank Haggens the privilege to park in their parking lot that we can go to the adjacent laundromat. US99% ers can’t afford their horrid dry and wilted cucumbers those are for the elite, but we can toss a few quarters at the dryers. I might also add that every bit of produce here is wilted and old.

Staff very«up» and nice, as taught to be. Prices really high. I mentioned that to the checker — she said Haggens is «testing» the water regarding pricing. I’ll only be there for an «emergency» run for an item.

They are too expensive! I didn’t like Albertson because I thought their workers were too racist and they were expensive, and although Haggens cashiers are friendly, their prices are way to high, I will try to stay out of this place unless I really don’t have a choice!

Loved Albertsons but not at all happy with Haggen. If I wanted to pay Whole Foods prices I would have gone down the road a bit to shop at Whole Foods. Was told by an employee that the day the store opened their prices went up 35%! I used to go to Albertsons at least once a day, now I go maybe once a week. I go to Costco now for my meat and Food 4 less and Smart and Final for the rest.

Sad sad day for us local Lomitians who frequented Albertsons. When Haagens took over I had never heard of them. Since I shopped at this Albertsons once a week, I figured why not give Haggens a try. Yes, the produce and organic selection appears better now, but not without a price. Overall my average grocery bill went up between $ 10 – 20 per visit. I don’t notice a real change in the quality of food(not enough to warrant the higher prices) and I miss the buy 1 get 1 meat sales. I will say this… the rotisserie chicken offered by Haggens is VERYVERY good in comparison to the 3 different flavored chickens offered by Albertsons. I may only come here for their pre-cooked Chicken as it’s THAT good. I have since been using the Ralphs in Torrance on my way home from work as an Albertsons replacement. Oh well. RIP Albertsons. *Update* Haagens is no longer in business at this location. First the boot out Albertsons and now we don’t have ANYWHERE local to shop for food. Who do we thank for this?

Wow, what a difference a day makes! Even the staff seems to have better morale now. When it was albertsons everyone seemed so unhappy most of the cashiers so negative I always used self checkout. Stopped in here on opening day and the store even smelled better. Purchased some king crab legs and they were terrific! Tried the ahi poke made in store and it was also really good. The butcher did warn it has a shelf life of Mac two days so keep in mind freshness! The produce section looked terrific too. Wasn’t all that impressed in the deli meat counter but the service deli cheese case was nice . It’s nice to have a little more upscale market closes to home without having to fight the nightmare parking lot at Trader Joes & Whole Foods. I hope this store keeps up the momentum !

Opening day! Very disappointed! With all the hype I expected more. Nothing but an overpriced Albertsons. Organic is very limited, and no speciality items. I’ll continue to shop at Trader Joe’s & Sprouts.
