I considered buying a new pump for our pool and figured I could do the work myself. The instore person warned me against buying a 2.0 hp pump to replace the 1.0 hp pump we already have. He took my name and number to have a pool tech call me for an appointment to come out. Pool tech never called to set an appointment, he just showed up at our house. The Tech said I need a 3.0 hp pump and wanted to charge me $ 1,700 for an install. I asked him if too much pump could damage the system he told me I should just always keep it on low. WTF? Then why would I want to spend money on the extra power? He had no answer for that. I asked him why I should pay $ 1,700 for a simple pump replacement when the actual pump only cost $ 700 on Amazon? He didn’t have an answer for that either. I asked him to leave.
I go to this store all the time, now I’m reluctant. Have they been ripping me off all these years?

This place was quite a surprise. The place was not big but it sure was very clean and fully stacked. I was looking for a spa pump to use on my shellfish tank. I called and the staff was very helpful And friendly. They did call back as promised when they got what i needed. I will definitely do business again with them.

I went to discount pool supply on Monday to buy a new pool pump. The guys recommended a new variable speed pump. Said it was quiet and would use a lot less power. This new pump is so quiet I had to go look at it to make sure it was on. Installed it myself in a half hour. I’m very happy. This place rocks.

When it came time to replaster /​retile /​revamp my pool — replace the plumbing to it — replace the pump and pool heater — I canvassed my neighborhood and friends and all I heard was satisfaction with Discount Pool… I never saw the need to collect estimates, I just hired them and the work began. I can’t think of a single complaint — Mike and his crew are neat, polite, punctual, hard working. The crew never left a mess behind. Mike worked hand-​in-​hand with the concrete company replacing the pool deck, making my life much easier. It’s been seven months now and I’m still pleased.

Discount Pool is an excellent pool store! I’ve been a regular customer for over three years, and I only have positive things to say. I take a water sample in almost every Friday, and they test my water (it’s free!) and give me a print out that details my water’s chemical levels and lets me know what chemicals to add. The staff that are in the store regularly (Dreama, Allan, Gabriel) are super nice, helpful, and professional. They always carry the heavy chemicals to my car, and Allan once gave me a step-​by-​step demonstration of how to clean my pool’s filter. The staff go above and beyond what you’d expect. I’ve had a technician (Jesse) to my house to replace my pool’s heater, and he was great too. The store carries every chemical and pool supply you could need, and as the store name suggests, the prices are good. This store is highly recommended!

Came here to address an algae problem, the store is located at the base of Palos Verdes. Gabriel helped me the second I walked in the door. We looked at my water sample and then reviewed solutions.
The store also has a ton of pool supplies. Color me happy with everything having to do with Discount Pool & Spa Supply.
