I STILL love love love Sals! It is my favorite neighborhood bar. The food is on pint– always fresh, good flavor, perfect. I highly recommend the pizza or the wings, but if you are feeling healthy, the salads are awesome too! My favorite thing about Sals is the friendly and welcoming staff. Every single one is genuine and outgoing. They are all very attentive, and will literally serve you with a smile. Drinks and food are cheap, and every night they have something cool going on. Whether it’s Karaōke or Trivia, this place will always keep you entertained. I highly recommend Sal’s. They have set my standard for neighborhood bar!

Stopped on way home to watch the draft. It’s in a strip mall but the atmosphere is nice they had several tvs which is plus. When driving by you might think it’s only a pub for locals, but the man serving us was very nice and courteous. We felt very welcomed! Glad my husband and I stopped in and will be back… small thing to change. People should smoke a little farther away from the door or put a pretty flower outside so it smells nice.

Great food and drinks. I love the golfer’s rib eye and the buffalo chicken salad, it’s spicy but it adds to the flavor. I always go for the onion rings

Received a gift certificate to this place in a raffle and tried it. Hooked on their pizza. Have dined in at the bar and done take out pizza many times. Great lunch place to grab pizza and bar food. Had friends staying locally at a nearby hotel and recommended they get this pizza for a night they stayed in. A year later, they are still talking about this great pizza. They mentioned they ordered a sausage pizza and a separate pepperoni pizza. Not one piece left as they could not decide which was better. Now a go to for ordering pizza when in that area.

Worse bar ever. Their food is terrible especially their pizza and if the silver spooned boys don’t like how you look, they’ll kick you out for no reason. Very clicky. Don’t waste your time or money.

Attention Unilocal and brother/sister Unilocalers: THISPLACEDOESNOTDELIVERFORDINNER – ONLYFORLUNCH. Salm maybe you should re-think your No-Dinner delivery policy as I would have ordered every night if you had night delivery – after all, this isn’t a bad ‘hood! That being said, the LUNCH pizza they delivered was without a doubt one of the BEST pizzas I have ever had INMYLIFE. It arrived hot and fresh with some excellent and PERFECTLYCOOKED crispy wings. The sweet and spicy sauce was excellent as well and they put in on the side along with a cup of buffalo sauce. The pizza was exactly as I ordered with delicious and generous amounts of toppings under a thick blanket of cheese cooked just right with the tiny brown spots of a well-done pie with a very crispy crust. I would have ordered this every day and every night if they had night delivery! OMG was it delicious! The very pleasant girl that took my order apparently pays attention to customer requests and she nailed it all the way around. It was a great delivery experience and I have a dine-in experience planned the next time I’m in Chicago. Kudos guys – I grew up on Chicago thin crust although I didn’t know it and if you would like to get extremely rich from LSU college kids, please open a branch in Baton Rouge where I live! I grew up on Chicago pizza in South Florida because a Chicago pizza guy moved to my little Florida hometown and opened a pizzeria in a old gas station and turned out a pizza equivalent to Sal’s and he put 5 kids through college and retired a multi-millionaire. There’s NO good Chicago thin crust in Baton Rouge, anyone want to get rich in the wonderful WARM climate of Louisiana?

Loved this place when I lived in Lombard, sad when we moved away. Back in the area again and definitely wanna stop in again. Sales is awesome and drink specials are great. Free buffet during halftime at bears games. Great group of people.

Hidden little neighborhood pub, great drink specials and awesome thin crust pizza! The boyfriend and I literally live a minute walk away and try to stick to a healthy diet, but we like to treat ourselves to some Sal’s now and then.(Or else we would be here more often!!!) Food is always fresh and tasty, service is great(and usually there’s only 1 server!) and it’s cozy and fun. Crowd is older, like 30+, locals just unwinding after work, watching the game. They even have karaōke and trivia nights!

First and foremost, the service was great. Our waitress told us the specials and most popular items since it was our first time. We got a pitcher of beer for 7 bucks which came with chilled glasses(always nice). The mozz sticks with marinara were good and were timed nicely. The sals pizza was awesome, but you definitely need to like spicy hot. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt. There were a ton of tvs in the bar which was a plus for watching sports!

I live down the street, and on my way home I searched pizza on Unilocal. This place came up, and I called in a carry out. The woman behind the counter was so friendly. I ordered a Large Pepperoni. Thin crust, it was yummy. My boyfriend and I both liked it. We shall be ordering from there again.

What attracted me most about Sal’s Pizza Pub, apart from my wife suggesting it, was the prevalence of four-star reviews. Does anyone give it five or three stars? Such a small variance suggests a place that hides nothing, assumes no false airs, and has so much salt-of-the-earth to it that you’d swear you were at the ocean. On a beautiful Friday, reminiscent of trips to the ocean while we lived on the east coast, my wife and infant joined me for lunch at Sal’s. With our little one, late-night rollicking is a memory. Too bad; I’m a big fan of karaōke. With an option to order at the register or at our table, we went for the restaurant treatment. The number of take-out orders during our stay confirmed Sal’s decision to make the offer. If a place can be trashy without being dumpy, Sal’s might be it. There are many non-matching TVs around the place. The carpet looks as if many a gallon of beer has been absorbed into its fibers, yet the upholstery in the booths are not in need of duct tape. And, for some reason, the place is devoid of women during the day. For most of our meal, my wife was the only XX’er there. Oh yes, the meal. Pretty dang good, I must say. We split a buffalo chicken sandwich and a «sloppy Jose.» I can’t say that the chicken sandwich is that different than other sandwiches of that ilk, but the quality of the ingredients were good, as was the balance. The chicken could’ve been a little thicker, I suppose. The sloppy Jose was my preferred sandwich. With two types of cheese and jalapeño slices, the sandwich had a nice kick that wasn’t too powerful. Even my wife, who cringes at the thought of another Manwich, liked the taco meat in its place. The bun was a bit stale, but not too much to ding the review. Ordinary fries, rings and other sides completed our meal. Nothing special, but it was nice to get two sides with each sandwich. Every town should have a place like this. Many channels on many TVs, but local station WGN got the one audio track. The server wore an untucked T-shirt and jeans, but you wouldn’t expect anything else here. Sal’s is exactly what you think it will be, and that’s a good thing. I think I’ll enjoy coming here one evening, as soon as we trust a babysitter enough.

Located in a little strip mall in a town in which we’d never before set foot, we entered expecting to split a pretty decent pizza and a pitcher of beer. Surprised by multitude of TV screens and sports galore, drink specials($ 4 Long Island Teas on this particular Friday night — one’ll do ya’), and efficient service with a smile. It’s a pizza place, but it provides a fairly diverse selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees, none of which will break the bank. I saw several patrons tearing into big platters of chicken wings, and the pizza selection was decent, but I decided to try the Philly cheesesteak with thick, crisp onion rings(really delicious), while my husband ordered a burger customized with chili, jalapeños and cheese(the cheese was omitted, but unmissed until he was nearly finished devouring it) and fries(a little on the cool side but pretty good). Drinks were never empty, and we left the place wishing we lived near enough to come back regularly. Terrific service, wallet-sparing prices, and an atmosphere that rivals larger-scale sports bars that try a lot harder and cost a lot more. Come grab a table or belly up to the bar — you won’t be sorry!

I could repeat Ron B’s 9÷29÷2013 review word for word here, since his review perfectly described Sal’s Pizza Pub. However, that’s kinda not my style. Even back in my school days, I wasn’t the type to just copy someone else’s work… so, here we go! Cool little neighborhood sports bar. Pizza is terrific Chicago-style thin crust. Sauce is tangy and flavorful without being too sweet, crust is perfect thick yet thin and crisp, and cheese is melted deliciousness. You can throw some darts, catch a game, or order one of a handful of beers they have on tap. All at reasonable neighborhood sports bar prices! I’ll definitely be back when I am back in town again.

Oh, suburban Chicago… you kind of ratchet. That said, Sal’s is a pretty good place to hang out with your townie friends who never moved into Chicago. Before 8 p.m., this place is a ‘family restaurant’(though I’m not entirely sure how that works), so just keep that in mind when you want to watch sports and begin drinking at a bar before 4 p.m. This place has good specials, cheap prices and karaōke every weekend. At first, you think karaōke is lame but wait… it’ll be great after four or five beers. I’m not entirely sure what kind of food this place serves late night, but there’s a chicken joint and a Chinese place in the same strip mall if you’re hungry. I like hanging out here with my friends, especially since some of them only live like 5 blocks from here. It makes for good drinking and non-driving after a nice evening out.
