Pretty much the greatest freaking Joann’s there is. I’m a newbie sewer, but with all the amazing fabric here, I walked out thinking I could make a wedding dress. Don’t worry – I wasn’t stupid enough to actually buy the fabric, but this place will put you in a crafting haze that will give you plenty of inspiration. I like that this one had a ton of clearance items, but the prices weren’t spectacular. When you think about using a coupon, you’d be better off that way. They did, however, have rolls of lace for $ 3 for 3 yards. I bought all the ones they had to sew on top of all my boot socks. The one in Wheaton is closer to me, but I’d definitely come out of my way for this store instead.

Tiniest JoAnn’s ever! This place seriously shouldn’t even exist. It has a very minimal selection and isn’t worth battling the traffic on Roosevelt to get to.

Great Joann fabrics. The staff here is very nice and helpful. I’ve had a few craft projects I was working on and they’ve helped me get exactly what I needed each time. The only complaint is that it seems they’re checkout process seems a bit outdated so at times it may take a little while to checkout. But no biggie, still love this Joanne fabrics

So, it turns out you can buy as little as 1⁄8 of a yard of fabric! I got the piece I needed for my Halloween costume here. $ 0.52 for the red fabric for the headband of my Rosie the Riveter costume. The fabric cutter was helpful. Though, there was only one cashier so I stood in line for about 10 – 12 minutes.

So this was an upgrade from a location a little bit east on Roosevelt Road. The old store was tiny and cramped and it was hard to get help in there. The new location is a lot bigger and it seems like they have increased the staff. Except at the register — the line was pretty lengthy and while it was still 5 — 7people deep, there was one lady running two registers and keeping things moving. She should get five stars just for keeping it together and doing a nice job of moving us along when it could have been a nightmare. She had to call for help and it took a bit for someone to come to help check people out — and she still ran two registers by herself. In terms of selection, it’s pretty basic as there’s definitely not as much non-fabric stuff as other craft stores and since I don’t sew, I can’t comment on the fabric selection. It’s worth going to in a pinch since I’d prefer not to give my money to some of the other places near-by that are also not open on Sunday and the other options are a lot farther away. Solid three stars.

I want to elaborate further on my review, I dint feel like I gave enough info. The place was so packed that they literally ran out of carts. One of the employees went and found some for us. That was really nice. They do have a lot more fabrics, cute ones by the way, but they also got rid of some items that I hope they get back. Fabrics in particular. I’m sure they’re working out the kinks, but while they’re doing that they send out 50% off coupons. SCORE! The fabric cutting section has grown, they had 2 people attending to customer cutting needs, but there was still lines forming. Again, maybe because it was the weekend, but we got thru pretty quickly. This was definitely an upgrade from the old store, more help, more cashiers and cutters. It’s very organized as well. Join their email list, they send out coupons all the time! Perfect time for a bigger craft store now that fall/winter are upon us.
