Big fan of their steaks, excellent service, great location with plenty of parking. I like that there’s a quieter section in the back vs tv’s in the front by the bar area.

I have not been to this location in several years. So I was pleasantly surprised. Dining experience was very nice, went Saturday night and was not too busy. Had the Toasted Ravioli appetizer which was very good. The Classic Boneless Chicken Vesuvio which was also wonderful. To top if off had Triamasu for dessert which was light and delicious. The meal was yummy so glad I went and definitely would be returning!

Food was okay, service a little slow considering it was lunch and empty. I should’ve taken a seat at the bar because the bartender seemed very attentive to his guests.

Reviews are certainly all over the place. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. We hosted a special event this past weekend and it was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. During our initial consultation with Alyssa, we toured the rooms available on this particular evening. We made our decision and from that moment on, Alyssa was there to help us in every way. The room looked great when we arrived and we had a wonderful bartender named George who served our guests well. Our servers passing Hors D’oeuvres were Carrie and Tim. Even our guests were complementary to their attentiveness. Throughout the evening they alternated the items passed and the sliders(too delicious) had a permanent home on a table with the Holy Cow potato chips. George, the bartender, happily served up those adult beverages and anything else anyone wanted to drink. Everyone had a wonderful time, had plenty of delicious treats to snack on, oh, did I forget to mention the sweet table? Silly me. Guests also enjoyed viewing all the photos on the walls and the rest of the memorabilia on display. A total success and I would not hesitate to host, or attend, any special event held here in the future.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks and some snacks since the website referenced a pretty good happy hour. After talking with the bartenders they were not aware of any happy hour. So we showed them their website that referenced their location under the happy hour banner. It turns out there is not! Bartenders graciously asked if we would like to see the manager which we accepted. Audrey the General Manager stopped by to see their website. After reviewing it she said well it was just wrong then proceeded to get aggressive about it, basically inferring that we were incapable of reading. Audrey needs to find a new industry to work in as hospitality is not the thing for her. Be warned they are not a customer friendly here. Better places to spend your money. Across the highway TGIF has Happy Every Hour, All Day, Everyday and service was much better.

I have always loved this restaurant! I have been to the Lombard and the Downtown Locations and have always had a good meal and enjoyed the ambiance, and lively but smoother crowd. Most recently I was there the Saturday Night before Valentines Day with a group of friends. We all had a marvelous time, perfect table, great waitress, and wait staff, all very attentive. However my steak was not how it should have been. After the wonderful presentation of the different varieties of steaks, I decided on the NY York strip Dry Aged, which the waitress said was smooth and velvety with the still great flavor of the NY Strip. It was none of those things. I believe it was not a dry aged steak, as ordered in which you pay a much higher price over the Regular NY Strip. It was kind of rough and chewy. it was flavorful, but not what I ordered. I did not say anything to the waitress, as I was with a big group of friends, and did not want to interrupt the great time we were having. It was disappointing, for high price I paid.

The prime rib had no flavor. The mac n cheese was horrible. The key lime pie is delicious. This was my 1st time there and last time.

Very disappointed with this steakhouse. Management was a big disappointment. We ordered our dinners and sides. When everything came, one order was completely wrong, a couple of the others were barely warm. My NY Strip was Pre-Cut into several pieces! I have never been to a premier steakhouse where steaks are Pre-Cut! Why would anyone ever do this to a steak?! Did I ask for my steak to be Pre-Cut? You just let all the juices out of my steak, and now my steak is cooling off at a rapid pace, so I’m rushed to eat it. We called the manager over and explained our issues, she had a bad attitude and showed little interest in making sure we were happy. At the end of dinner they ended up crediting us for 1 steak, which they originally screwed up on, but that’s not going to bring us back. Honestly a steak at Chili’s would have been very comparable if not better to what we got here. On the other hand, someone ordered Lamb Chops, and they were pretty tasty and warm! the sides were also pretty good. Honestly, I think there are much better steak houses out there, one of them being The Capital Grill. You want a great steak experience?, this is not the place!

Ive been to this Harry Caray’s twice for lunch & it’s located in the Westin Hotel. I don’t have a ton to say other than it’s a nice restaurant in a hotel. Why do I go here instead of the other places nearby? Because it’s in a hotel and most likely less busy :) Went here on Dec 19th when everyone was out Christmas shopping at Yorktown(Total Traffic Chaos). Walked in and had a seat at the bar, ahhh… So nice, no insane mall rats here ;) This last time I had a Ruben. I have to say it is one of the best Rubens I’ve ever had! Really at Harry Caray’s??? The bartender said he liked it a lot and they make their own corned beef there. Great flavor, texture, not salty, and HUGE! I will return for another soon!

My wife and I have a yearly tradition of going to Harry Caray’s for Thanksgiving dinner. They bring you a heaping plate of turkey(or prime rib) and there’s a buffet of gourmet side dishes for you to choose from as well. This is much easier than cooking for a couple of people, and cheaper too. I was disappointed this year when the meal felt like an assembly line rather than the relaxed atmosphere it usually is. And the food seemed to suffer a bit too. Things were drier, and not prepared as well as they have been in previous years. Even the mashed potatoes seemed watery. But this is a single occurrence and as a regular patron of Harry’s, I’ve nary a complaint. The food and service are generally top notch, and the bar has a nice cocktail selection too.

Had a wonderful dinner on New Year’s Eve. We had a reservation at 830, and didn’t leave until almost 11. No one batted an eye that we were there late. Our server Tim was awesome, very knowledgeable, and didn’t care when I started to laugh at the steak tray.(I’m sorry, I was laughing at the meat, not him). Appetizers and dinner we’re served in a timely manner. My husband and I went to the one downtown for NYE last year, this one this year. Perhaps a tradition is in the works? Thanks again for a great night!

Very disappointing Christmas Day dinner — BEWARE!!! An all together VERY disappointing dining experience. No one mentioned when I confirmed the reservations that the Holy Mackerel menu would not be available as it usually is — so we only found after being seated that there were no oysters or other seafood choices we have had here in the past. In hindsight, that should have been my warning to get up and leave right then. $ 35 prime rib should(1) be served medium rare as requested, not a nearly dead well done and after attempts to bring replacements(2) should be of far better quality than what was served — both servings of prime rib were immensely fatty(read half a plate of globulous fat left over) and very tough and stringy — absolutely no excuse for such poor quality meat — $ 70 down the drain on those. The chef has stupid ideas about even the simplest recipes — be sure to ask exactly how everything your items will be prepared because you cannot trust the menu description: e.g., hash browns were not really hash browns, they were actually 1″ cubes of roasted potatoes with large chunks of onions and an apocalypse of thyme — creamed spinach was not actually creamed spinach, it was some weird concoction of barely sautéed spinach in a flavorless cream sauce — horseradish cream(essential to drown the stingy tasteless prime rib) was itself flavorless with barely a hint of horseradish. The calamari was a plate of 75% inedible spiders instead of rings and the aranchini were dry and flavorless throughout. The maple crusted salmon was however excellent and the roasted artichokes and roasted brussel sprouts and wedding soup were good. However, the asparagus was old and tough with barely the top 25% of each stalk edible. The place was no where near full but service was quite poor — my glass(iced tea) was completely empty most of the time and the waiter was nowhere to be found. We waited over 15 minutes trying to find the waiter in order to send back the first round of ridiculously overcooked prime rib — when they finally managed close enough doneness it was mostly fatty and stringy poor quality meat and the waiter was once again gone for half an hour. We finally gave up in disgust after having wasted over $ 200 on a poor meal. In the face of completely uneaten plates of side dishes and plates piled with excised fat, not a single question or comment from the waiter or management. In fact, proper management supervision appears to be nonexistent — God knows where the chef is pulling his recipes or they’re buying their meats. Completely unacceptable for a high end/price restaurant. Too many better quality, more consistent, and reliable choices available for the money to accept this. Gave management a chance to respond here and on open table — nothing — face it, they don’t give a flip about their customers — Harry is no doubt spinning in his grave at what they’ve done to his namesake

Ordered the grass fed steak medium well and got it on the well side of well done. Still, a decent steak. Brussel sprouts with pancetta were delicious! Complimentary pasta included. A good meal. It was a slow night but I loved how they had plenty of tv’s for football…

Hooooooooooooly cow… I expected more from this place but, alas, I was kind of disappointed. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Harry Caray’s has some decent things going for it. Especially if you are a Cubs fan. BUT, overall, and especially for the amount of money you are going to drop here, I DID expect more. First off, Harry Caray’s is much fancier than I thought it would be. I’m not one for fancy schmancy joints in general, and I especially dislike ones that make their poor servers go over an entire tray of meat selections unless one were to ask for all that information, so this was a turn off for me. Speaking of turn offs… if you ARE going to make someone explain all your meat products for the love of God don’t encase them in vacuum sealed bags that they have to manhandle. It seriously was ridiculous watching this girl caress these bags of meat that essentially look like they are sealed off in condoms whilst she is wearing a lab coat. No thanks. Maybe I’m a child, but all I wanted to do was giggle at her the entire speech. So there’s that. Anyway, on to the food. Surprisingly(?) none of us went for the steak and instead went with Italian choices instead. The menu was pretty solid and had enough choices to make everyone at the table happy(though in retrospect I would’ve gotten a tried and true cheeseburger if I would’ve known the Italian food was just meh) and I opted for eggplant parmesan. If you’ve ever made eggplant parmesan you know what a pain in the a it is to make so I get it often in Italian restaurants so someone else has to make it for me. Everyone else at the table tried Italian dishes as well. Everyone was satisfied enough, but it didn’t seem like anyone was really impressed. The calamari appetizer was delicious and I heard no complaints there, but when dinner came it was a lot of «yeah, this is alright“s and«I wish I would’ve tried… instead“s. Needless to say, my eggplant parmesan was good but it wasn’t fantastic. To be honest it was kind of mushy and bland. And so was the random pasta sent by the chef that showed up. Oh well. You live and you learn. Overall, for the money that you are going to drop here, I’d rather hightail it over to Ruth’s Chris for steaks and skip the pretentious speeches or head to Francesca’s or some other great Italian place for some Italian food mangiaing. Sorry, Harry. I miss you, buddy but not THAT much.

Met up friends for drinks before a movie. Pretty good Moscow Mule but beer is a bit on the expensive side. makes sense that its inside the Westin. Could have just gone to AMC before the movie, but here, they have screens if there is a game on.

Stopped by Harry Caray’s for lunch with my family and not only were we NOT greeted by the GREETER, she didn’t seem too pleased to serve us. We asked her if their food was cooked with peanut oil and her response was simply«I don’t know, you’ll have to ask your server». She then asked if we would be having lunch there and advised that we can sit anywhere. In other words, go find your own seat. There was a family behind us with the same amount of people in their party. She nicely walked them to the dining area, put two tables together for them and seated them. We asked her why were they escorted and not us. She said«oh, because they needed tables put together for them, that’s why.» Again, we had the same amount of people in our party. After realizing that we were probably not wanted there because no one came to our table, although there were only three table’s occupied at the time(I wonder why?), the server nicely walked right past our table, didn’t acknowledge us and went to the other family’s table to serve them. It’s very unfortunate that the color of our skin dictates what type of service we deserve. We work hard every day and our money spends the same. We will not be visiting this establishment ever again and we will be sure to tell everyone we know about our experience. Word of advice to your staff, you should never judge a book by it’s cover. You never know who you might be serving.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We did have reservations but it’s not too entirely busy so you can probably grab some food without one. The bar area looked great but we decided to eat in the dining room. It has dim lighting and overall a very romantic setting. We ordered a dry aged New York strip and a cavatappi dish. The sides are pretty big, so much that they can be shared. The food was very good though quite pricey. If I’m being honest, it was the most expensive meal for two that I’ve ever paid in my life. Our waiter was incredibly nice and friendly. I don’t think I ever had such great service at a restaurant. All in all it’s a great place with fantastic memorabilia in the front. I do recommend this place but only for a special occasion or once in a while for date night due to the prices.

Me & my family from out of town went here to celebrate my birthday & getting my pharmacy white coat. We wanted an upscale place because we had a reason to celebrate. The seating outside was very nice, gorgeous day. The food was good too but honestly I think it was because we were starving. The thing was sort of upset me was that they didn’t bring out the bread until AFTER we got our meals. They then asked if we wanted dessert & politely said no since we thought it was a ploy to get us to buy more. When we asked why they didn’t do anything for birthdays, they said it was because we declined the free dessert. I have never been to a restaurant that didn’t make it clear that a free birthday dessert was included or a place that you had to request it. It’s always been a surprise. It was a big bummer on something I was excited for. The food is good, but I just didn’t have a great experience.

Horrible horrible horrible. My friends & I were in on a Friday night. A conference of 900+ people was in full swing. Tell me this place isn’t used to these conditions! It was busy but nothing crazy. Our server, well, she was a special child of God.(I’m being nice) All the food came except for my bowl if soup. Did we have napkins & utensils? If course not. Utensils got there for everyone but me. My soup finally came. I thought I was going to have to pick up the bowl & slurp. My friends said no tomato on their burgers. Yeah… there they were — pretty red slices in top of the minimal lettuce.(They wanted extra lettuce & raw onion. Did they get onion? Not a snowballs chance in hell!) I said I’d eat the tomatos. Well, here comes their inions with, you guessed it — tomatos. We put the tomatos on a saucer but was there room on the tabke for that saucer? You guessed it! Another friend was holding his salad in one hand & eating with the other. It looked like a true filipino picnic. The server comes by asking if everything was ok. I raised my tomato plate hand up & down. My friend holding his salad looked at her. She turned & left. Special chikd of God. As hash browns & mashed potatos(both which were meh) were finished, I was putting plates ketchup mustard salt & pepper on the ledge next to me where they remained for the duration of the meal. I had the Italian Wedding soup. The broth & veggies were ok but the meatballs — I do believe dog food has more flavor. I had a bite of the chicken avocado salad that my friend was holding onto. Nothing exciting. Bland actually. My burger friends wanted a glass of semi sweet red wine. Special child of God mumbled something in Klingon. I asked what that was & she said it was a blend. I asked what was in the blend only to get a reply once again un Klingon. Upon sipping Klingon wine, we discovered it was one shade away from a Chianti. Special child of God. I vowed never to step foot in this place again & give it a one star however… Lunch the next day. Burger friends are starving & there’s really no where to go in our time frame. They ordered burgers again & with much repetition, they got their lettuce & onions — no tomato. They also ordered a paata dish that was pretty sad so tjat was sent back. I ordered clam chowder & spinach salad. Soup was quite good as was the salad. Our poor server was doing everything he could to make us happy. He was a darling & because that meal & him, I’m giving this place 2 stars. I’d still rather never go back…

Tonight was my first time and very impressed. I have driven past the Westin Hotel but never been in Harry Carays! I have really been missing out. They have a huge bar area, private dining and the best part is the out door lounge. Not the front few patio seats you can see from the parking lot. On the side of the bar there is another patio. This patio has a fire pit, heaters, 4-top seating and my favorite, the lounge seating. Great for a group of friends who want a lounge and feel classy. Tonight I was there with Sam Adams doing a promotion. We were giving out Sam Boston Lager, Sam Summer Ale, and the new Traveler Beer Co– Illusive grapefruit wheat beer. The food looked great, I had a few bits of the mini corn dogs, calamari, fried ravioli and bruschetta. Can’t wait to come back and try more! The best part of the nice lounge patio… ITSDOGFRIENDLY! Yup! Feel free to bring your pooch to lunch or dinner!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service is. Maybe it’s because we have tortured ourselves with Millers for the last couple years until we looked out the window and saw the Harry Carays sign thru the trees. Edgar

Burger Bar menu option is GREAT, will be back for another salmon burger soon. All of the food we ordered was delicious. The salads were very fresh. e Service was alright, could have been better. Our server looked like he was too through with life at the time — I don’t blame him, serving must get to be a pain after a while — at the time it didn’t bother me too much, but I can see how it would bother others. Bar was cool, we had to sit there while waiting for the rest of our party and had a few drinks. The larger issue I had with the restaurant was with seating. It seemed as if there was a whole section of the restaurant very much free but they refused to seat all of us until our whole party had arrived. We were literally waiting on one more person, but they would not seat us — We had a party of 7 and it was almost 10:00pm.

On a mission to taste local Chicago specialities, I met up with one of my friends at Harry Carray’s in Lombard. We started off with shrimp de jonghe, followed by a Ceaser salad with anchovies(my first try!) and Chicken Vesuvio. The shrimp is a casserole shrimp blanketed in soft, garlicky, sherry-laced bread crumbs. It has the oldest pedigree of Chicagoan cuisine, having originated in the late 19th or early 20th century at DeJonghe’s Hotel and Restaurant, 12 E. Monroe St.(1899 – 1923). This was not on the menu but I asked the waitress and she had the chef make up a couple for us. They aren’t cheap, about $ 12+ each I believe, and small, but I was mostly in it for the experience. Chicken Vesuvio, another specialty of Chicago, is an Italian-American dish made from chicken on the bone and wedges of potato, celery, and carrots; sauteed with garlic, oregano, white wine and olive oil, then baked until the chicken’s skin becomes crisp. The dish is often garnished with a few green peas for color. In Chicago, one also often finds the technique applied to other foods, like«steak Vesuvio,» «pork chops Vesuvio» or even just«Vesuvio potatoes.» This dish was good. Very hearty. The sauce very good. Sadly, I was too full and very tired to really enjoy it! Overall, I had a lovely dinner. The shrimp was very strong, the sauce great for dipping in bread. The anchovies were way to salty. The service, splendid. The meal was pricey but not bad for three courses and a drink. As far as parking, I had no trouble. I did have to park in the lot right by it and walk up a little hill but there were plenty of spaces.

My fiancé had eaten at another location of Harry Caray’s and raved about it so we decided to visit here on our«fancy date night». We went on a Sunday evening and were seated immediately. The menu is pretty large and with Holy Mackerel right next door, there are good choices of steak and seafood. We decided to go with the prix fixe dinner menu for 2. Which included a ton of food. We had salad, appetizers and a main course, as well as dessert. Seriously when I was done eating there was enough for two more meals. The prime rib I ordered was fantastic and was cooked just to my liking. Our server and everyone else that stopped by our table was very friendly and heeded all my requests. This was a pricier than usual date night for us but I hope we can come back for other special occasions.
