Went here on Super Bowl Sunday to get some of their famous rib tips. Unfortunately this location is closed.

Closed, but will re-open. The restaurant in the mall has closed. However, they are building a stand-alone restaurant at the edge of the parking lot of Yorktown Mall. So, it will reopen at some point. The food here is absolutely great. And we get the to-go pounds of pulled chicken and pork when we have a group of people over. I highly recommend.

FANTASTIC! BBQ! Have eaten here on many an occasion… and it never gets old. Their ribs are delicious! Pulled pork Yummy! And their Burger, out of this world! Fries, beans and cornbread all round things off nicely! ~ Undecided? Or eating in a group and on a budget? Try one of their feasts! Portions so large, you can add a +1 to that amount it feeds on the menu… and served in a garbage can lid… it’s a very fun novelty. The only complaint I have is that service sometimes runs a little slow, but that’s not even enough to make a big deal out of. Just a heads up if you’re in a time crunch. More laid back, then shuffling people in and out as quickly as they can manage. Most certainly recommend Dave’s! I’m certain we’ll be back!

I love, love, love it when my job caters from Famous Daves! I think we order so much from here, we may even get a corporate discount. Alot of times, they even send over staff to not only deliver but also serve us food. Their jalapeño mac-n-cheese changed the game, because it is not your run of the mill, commercial mac-n-cheese. It’s always ooey-gooey goodness! The bread pudding is also the best I’ve ever had and I can never get enough of it. Famous Dave’s definitely has been a fave of mine for years now and will remain one of the best in the area for work events.

Have you ever been seeing someone special, and you know they’re awesome, but they live kind of out of the way? And so occasionally you get your, um, needs met a bit closer to home? It’s not quite as special, but it gets the job done when you have that craving… Stick with me here. I have an everlasting love for a certain barbecue joint with only two locations, guy by the name of Ray. He’s sweet. His barbecue is awesome. But we moved last year, and it’s just not that convenient anymore, so seeing him is a special occasion. Enter Dave. Dave. Kinda famous. Lives extremely close to home. We’ve heard he’s a good guy too. Figure it’s worth a shot. Oh yes, Dave is quite competent too. The nachos«for two» are just the right size to start. It’s a big olé mess of a dish, but the tongs they provide are very handy! And it’s a delicious mess. I got the brisket platter and my husband got a half-rack of ribs. The meat in both cases was tender and delicious. My garlic mashed potatoes and mac & cheese were both hot and tasty. The variety of sauces at the table is nice, the Georgia Mustard was my favorite. Our waitress was very nice, called us «sweetheart» and«honey» a lot and was generally great. Ray will always be my beloved, a high standard I hold all other pitmasters to. But Dave? He’s a good guy who will treat you right and scratch that barbecue itch when you just have to have it.

Loooooove Famous Dave’s all over so far! Their beer can chicken is to die for. My boyfriend and I couldn’t make up our mind on what we wanted to eat because we love everything in the menu. Well let me tell ya, we started with their chicken nachos and moved on to the beer can chicke that I ordered while my boyfriend entertained himself wth a Famous Dave’s Feast(for two), we shared and took a lot home but it was just amazing!

I love this place. I’ve had bad experiences at local BBQ places, and this one is by far the BEST… food and service. They’re always super nice and helpful. When they made a mistake, the server brought something different for free… good service :)

We always love going here. Never a wait, plenty and I mean plenty of seating. Food and staff are always great. They also have a great pick up ordering area that I use alot. Food is still very warm when I get home about 15 minutes away. I can not rate higher then five stars, if I could I would.

There are not that many times I’ve been called a PIG and agreed. But at Famous Daves that translates into Pretty Important Guest and because of it I got my hands on a $ 10 coupon. La dee dah me! I’ve been here plenty of times in the past so it was really easy to narrow in on what to order. There were 3 of us(yes my sister was with me again) and we opted for the The Feast. There’s two Feast options and we got the one that serves 2 – 3. That alone could have served 4 people. Heads up that it comes with only 2 cornbread and corns. Share people SHARE! Here’s the shake down: 1.) Spare Ribs– because of these, I made the pronouncement several years ago that I could care less if I ever ate babyback ribs again. I stand by my statement. 2.) Coleslaw and beans– Slaw was a good contrast to the savory elements. Beans are chock full of meat– I just wish there were more beans and less sauce. 3.) WAY over cooked but still buttery delicious? Go figs. 4.) Chopped pork– I lurve you. 5.) Chicken– I send you a love letter too. 6.) Corn bread– there was a skirmish for the muffin tops… that says enough. 7.) Potato wedges– why oh why do I eat so many of you!!! Always a nice crunchy outside. I have issues with soggy potatoes… 8.) Pecan pie– this wedge is gigantic. as in 3 people can share and have enough. It’s ala mode. It’s also really worth saving room for. Service was fine, it’s mostly a bunch of kids working at a BBQ joint in the mall…

If this was a review of service only, it would be 6 stars! Our waitress(Rachel, I believe) was the nicest woman, very helpful and attentive. Since it was our first time at a Famous Dave’s the manager even came over and gave us some coupons and information for future visits. Then on our way out, the hostess held the door open for us! I was amazed… And I have to say, I really liked my meal. The brisket was good and tender, and the mac and cheese satisfied my inner fat kid craving. The only bummer were my husband’s rib tips. They were a little too dry and were’t falling off the bone. But the devil’s spit sauce made up for it. Overall, I will be returning to this location… hopefully getting the same waitress!

Horrible service: I saw my waitress when she took my order, and when she dropped off my food. I wasn’t even offered a refill on any of the four sodas I ordered. When I spend over $ 100 in a place I should at least be asked how my food is. She spent a lot of time chatting with the people at the table next to me. Rotten Potato: We were served two potatoes with rotten black pieces inside. The manager came over stating that it was not mold but rather a normal ‘black knot’. She did not even apologize. She did comp my two meals and give me a gift card. However, nothing can make up for this horrible experience.

I typically come here for take out, and it’s been fast, convenient and delicious. Delicious food, with just the right amount of BBQ sauce, plus extra if you’d like more. The bread for the sandwiches isn’t too limp nor too toasted. Just perfect for me. Today, I wanted a protein splurge and had the lunch sandwich with beef brisket with a side of baked potato and sour cream. As a dessert I picked the key lime pie – it was all delicious. Count me in for a visit to satisfy my next BBQ hunger pang.

Great lunch specials, even better Bbq. Sweet & Sassy BBQ sauce is my shiiiit! I love the little presentation in the beginning with fries & sauces for tasting. I always lie and say I’ve never been there so they’ll do it… mwahahahahaaaa!!! Service is always great. Love the cornbread & slaw. Those ribs though, I end up biting the bone. Sad but true. I’ve tried my friends chicken, that was good. Beans are yummyyyyy too! Our first time going actually, we were given free bottles of our fave BBQ sauce. That got us to go back :)

Yummmmy! In my opinion, the best place for bbq ribs. This time we ordered the rib combo, chicken, chopped pork, and catfish. All were good. Never had the chopped pork before and that was good. The ribs, as usual, were great. What made this visit extra good was the service. Several times we have gone and the service has been average. This time it was great. Ask for Lydia, she was great.

Let me preface this by saying that I LOOOOOVE Famous Dave’s food and have a loyalty to it, being a native of Minnesota, where it all started. This review definitely has NOTHING to do with the quality of food, but everything to do with this particular location’s poor facilities and service. They seem to be perpetually understaffed. It is a large dining room, and despite usually having several open tables during peak times, there is a long wait because the wait staff cannot keep pace. They frequently forget to bring refills, and come back to ask you how your meal is before you’ve even had a chance to start on it. On one occasion a server came out with a tray full of food and had NO idea what table to bring it to. I kid you not, this person stood in the dining room calling out, «Who ordered the«insert name of entrée?» REALLY?! The middle dining room is EXTREMELY hot and you can expect to be dripping with sweat by the end of the meal. When we asked our server if they could turn the heat down we were told that they can’t control it, as the mall controls the heat. We will NEVER visit this location again! If we are in the Lombard area and want BBQ we will go to the new Patio across the street. If we are set on eating Famous Dave’s, we will go to the Bolingbrook location which is MUCh better!

Famous Dave’s is offering beef ribs for a special short period, til mid November. We came by and picked up a beef rib combo(2 sides and cornbread) for $ 18.99. Wow, that was one big boned rib — meaty and juicy, delicious, and a bit fatty I might add, but that was just fine by me. Basically prime rib on the bone, but with Famous Dave’s taste. At $ 18.99, it’s not particularly cheap, but it sure was good. There’s not a lot of places you can go to have beef ribs. Hurry and try, before the special is over!

Famous Dave’s St. Louis ribs are OUTOFTHISWORLD. If you want to be a snob and say that the best ribs come from out-of-the-way Mom and Pop places, fine, I understand the motivation. But the proof is in the rib, my friend. The proof is in the rib. And what about the Wilbur Beans? Wilbur Beans are the kind of beans Goldilocks herself would choose because Wilbur Beans are juuust right. Not too spicy, categorically not bland. Not too sweet, not too smoky. Go ahead, Goldilocks, eat as many as you like. And what about the skin-on Russet potato wedges? You know what you’re afraid of when you order thick-cut fries at a restaurant. You’re afraid of soggy, lifeless fries. You’re afraid of that paper-y texture in the center because they weren’t cooked all the way through. You’re afraid of coveting thy neighbor’s slaw. Not this time. Order these and you won’t regret it. You can eat them plain, you can eat them salted. Or you can eat them with any of the table-side Famous Dave’s sauces.(I recommend Texas Pit.)(Actually, I recommend all of them.) And what about the cornbread muffin? Light, excellent consistency, and a perfect compliment to the rest of your plate. People will ask if they can«try a bite.» Tell them to go straight to hell. Ok, are there any downsides? Well, I hesitate to say this, but my dining companion and I had some trouble with the bar. I ordered root beer(in keeping with the rootin’ tootin’ theme of the evening) and he ordered a Martini. Unfortunately, only half of it made it to the table. The waitress walked away and he actually looked up at me and asked, «Where’s the rest of it!?» Now, see, this could have been bad. Real bad. You don’t fool with my husband’s drink. Had I not been there, knife and fork in hand, bib tied, speck of drool already forming in the corner of my mouth, we’d have made a scene and walked out. But I became like the Martini Whisperer and shh-shh’d him into staying. But honestly, Famous Dave, don’t cheap-out on my husband’s drink again. I love you, but your ribs aren’t worth a divorce(for the most part.) I would also ask that the server come around more often when we’re ready to pay the bill. Oh and, just an FYI, when I make a mess of wet naps and you see them sitting in a mountainous pile at the end of the table, take them away. I’m not saving them for nostalgia. Finally, the atmosphere. I like it. Picnic tables = good. Pictures of hunting dogs wearing scarves = fine. You could doll the place up with monkey cages and I wouldn’t care. Just keep it simple and keep the ribs comin’. I do wish I wouldn’t always get seated next to a screaming child, but since parents today seem reluctant to do more than jangle their keys at their kids and let them keep hollering, what am I to do? Next time I’ll wear earmuffs. For you, Famous Dave, anything.

I love BBQ and Famous Dave’s, while slightly pricey, was very tasty. I had the ribs and pulled pork, which was very flavorful. The ribs weren’t over-smoked and the pork was tender and not overly stringy. The beans were my favourite. Obviously not out of a can and big flavors with tender beans. I had a taste of Linda’s Hot Wings and they were very well done. I can’t think of too many better Wings I’ve had at a restaurant. The service was my highlight. It was attentive, fast and very nice. It was only about ½ full, and I could see how a place like this could find itself swamped on a Friday or Saturday night.

Yeah, I think I’m a fan of this place. I do love smoked meat and all things dripping with barbecue sauce. My friend and I came in here on a slow Monday afternoon and the place was almost literally empty. We were seated immediately and our server was nice. Since we had said we’ve never been into the place before, we were offered a small order of their steak fries in order to sample all of their lovely barbecue sauces. I loved the sauces and I was psyched that they wanted us to try them. We decided to order some Bloody Mary’s because, seriously, who doesn’t love them? They were delicious and spicy, which is how I like ‘em. Apparently Famous Dave’s makes its own Bloody Mary mix and that makes me happy. There was an even spicier version of this Bloody served in a bigger glass with Peppar Vodka. I don’t know if my poor esophagus could have handled that, but I bet it was good. They had a great menu of lunch specials(‘Que Specials) and they were nice, cheap and came with a side. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with jack cheese on top and it was yummy. My friend ordered the pork sandwich and it turns out it was pulled pork(we weren’t sure since the menu didn’t say ‘pulled’ and I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t get that instead) and she also enjoyed it. We both got the jalepeno mac and cheese side and it was delicious! My entire meal was just the right amount of spicy and I really enjoyed it. The Sweet and Tangy BBQ sauce also complimented my sandwich very well. I highly recommend. All in all, the food was pretty good and our bill was about $ 25 including the two Bloody Mary’s. That’s a good deal for a big, filling, delicious lunch. I’m never really in Yorktown Mall but I’d come back here if I ever find myself in need of some eats while shopping. Screw the food court — walk over to Famous Dave’s.
