Charming Charlie – Lombard

Had time to kill before an appointment and thought I would browse. Was greeted by two friendly associates at the front and allowed me space to roam around. As I walked around and found things, two more sales people checked on me. Found some great necklaces I was thinking of getting. As I was being rung up, the cashier noticed I had a clearance item and their was a special– buy one clearance, get another equal or lesser free. Grabbed another item I was looking at. The price point is affordable but the quality is about that as well. Since I didn’t spend as much on the item as I would at Chico’s, I am thinking it might not last as long. I shall see but great value and nice staff.

I find myself at this Charming Charlie far too frequently. I actually should complain that it’s way too convenient for me in that it’s so close to my work that I end up spending more money than I should.
First, I recommend signing up for their rewards club online or in store. I get some crazy coupons that are usually free of exclusions. A few weeks prior to Christmas, I received a $ 10 mailed coupon while they had Buy One Get One free on clearance. There was a necklace I’d been ogling for about $ 20 and I was able to walk out of there with that necklace and another statement piece for less than the price of a full price necklace. If you also sign up for their texts and emails, they’ll let you know about any in-​store specials, such as the BOGOs on clearance.
I’ve never had any customer service issues with any CC’s, but I do think this is one of the better ones I’ve been to. The girls are always really nice and will go out of their way for you. They’re also always really well accessorized so I usually end up wanting to buy whatever they’re wearing.
The clearance is usually in the far corner, so make sure to hit that up. It’s usually packed with great stuff.

Love, love, love this store! They have the greatest jewelry in every color and for every occasion at extremely reasonable prices. I simply cannot walk through their door and come out empty handed — not possible. Kudos to their buyers — LOVE your merchandise.
One comment for management. I was asked to complete their on line survey and was told I’d have a chance for a $ 100 gift cert. For the first time, I decided to log onto the survey with the intent to complete it. Holy cow! I found it extremely personal — inappropriately so and did not finish it. As importantly, it is NOT a survey for Charming Charlie but rather a marketing questionnaire. You are not eligible for a $ 100 cert as a CC customer, as the survey says a $ 500 cert. Deceiving because again it is not a survey for CC — it’s a marketing questionnaire that heaven knows how many thousands of people are receiving via how many various vendors. Not good. If Charming Charlie really wants feedback on a THEIR customer service (and they should), then develop a legitimate survey for that purpose.

I’ve been to several other locations but this one was most convenient while running errands this past weekend. After years of working in retail, I learned that not only is the customer always right, and when it comes to expired coupons, it doesn’t hurt to ask!
I received my $ 5 off birthday coupon in the mail in April, held onto it till my next visit only to find out it expired April 30^th. I figured so many places accept expired coupons so why not ask! I needed a necklace for a wedding I was attending that night so I got help from a store associate in picking out a necklace that would go with my dress based on the picture I took on my phone. Upon checking out they did honor my $ 5 coupon… I was one happy customer!
Aside from my specific experience, I adore this place… I mean, there is something for everyone here!!! Earlier last week I went to the Icing on State Street, which is like the Claire’s for adult women and I was told that black was out of season and they only had crystal necklaces with black in them. Ahem… black is worn all year long.
Anyway…this place is accessories galore in every color in the rainbow separated by color in the store, it’s amazing!!! There are also shirts, scarves, shoes, purses, etc. I can get lost in here forever, and probably spend an entire paycheck in here.
The thing I like most is, you can get a necklace with matching earrings for around $ 13-​$ 16…and under twenty bucks! The jewelry here is classy too. You can spend double or more buying from jewelry parties for the same type of stuff.

Pretty average Charming Charlie, in a great mall! And when I say «average Charming Charlie» I mean it’s pretty great. Charming Charlie is a great place to get purses, shoes, scarves, jewelry, watches, etc. There’s always a great selection and I can always find what I’m looking for. Seriously the store is arranged by color which is amazing. That’s how my closet is organized and that’s how everything should be organized!

I didn’t know I had such a need to accessorize. I love Charming Charlie! I came here to find a gift for a friend’s birthday. I wasn’t sure what to get her, but I thought a nice bracelet or necklace would be cute. This location is accessible through the outside because it is one of the «Shops of Yorktown.» I walked in and fell in love with the layout. It is so easy to find things when everything is divided by color. This was extremely helpful, as my friend absolutely loves the color pink. So off to the pink section I went! It wasn’t long before I found a cute charm-​like bracelet. And the best part was that it was only $ 8! Sweet! I found a cute ring to go along with it and boom. Birthday gift.
I had some time, so I decided to get some stuff for yours truly. I’ve been looking for a cute, casual watch but I didn’t want to get something from online because you never know what you might get. They had watches in every color! I decided to go with something simple, in brown. It was only $ 13, so if it craps out, at least I didn’t spend $ 30+ on it. It’s really cute and I’ve gotten several compliments on it already. I also bought a ring protector for my currently too loose engagement ring.
Next time I get paid, I definitely want to make another stop here. Gone are the days of trying to find cute jewelry at Forever 21 and Target, only to get something cheap or paying too much for something simple and colorful. I can’t wait to accessorize! Jewelry tree, prepare to be full of CC goodness!

I love the décor of this place; it has a vintage classy feel that I love. The sections are divided by color and there is so many of them. I’ve recently developed and obsession for feathers and they carry them in all colors. From earrings to necklaces to bracelets, I can get my feather on in there.
Their prices are very affordable for any girl on a budget, or guy I guess. Tights, purses, earrings, rings, bracelets, any accessory you can name they have. I’m also into scarfs during the winter and they have plenty.
I’m just in love with the store and I’m not a big accessory type girl, but I might just have to start!

This shop is an OCD wet dream. It’s perfect for accessorizing any outfit. Their focus is clearly on jewelry, handbags and shoes, but it still manages to be well-​stocked with color-​coordinating clothing.
CC’s takes up a lot of space and uses the area well. There is barely a bare table or open space; however, you can move around without feeling like you’re going to knock everything over. There is a lot to look at and if you don’t know where to start, start at the beginning. It is clearly organized by colors, patterns and themes — reds, yellows, blues, zebra print, crosses, leopard print, owls. They have a cluster for anything your heart desires.
