Heard about this place recently from my mother. Decided to try it so I called to place an order on June 12th at 8:03p.m. I made sure they were O.K. with me placing an order just an hour before closing time. He agreed it was fine. I placed my order over a two minute phone call according to my phone. I left immediately after the call and my tire blew as i was pulling out of my driveway. Not having a spare at the moment; I immediately pulled over and called the restaurant back at 8:07(2 minutes after we got off the phone). I told the person who answered the phone that I needed to cancel my order. I began explaining myself. «i just got a flat tire I won’t be able to make it…» when phone disconnected. I called back to make sure my order was cancelled(still 8:07). I told him my information again and he exclaimed«We just spoke! We cancel your order!». I immediately figured out that he hung up on me. I asked, «Did you just hang up on me?», he replied«YES I DID! YOU’VEDONETHISTOUSBEFOREYOUALWAYSCALLYOURORDERANDCANCELIT» and hung up again. I called back a third time but waited about 5 minutes to let the guy cool off. I asked to speak to a manager, to my surprise, this man said«I AMTHEMANAGER!» i replied; «are you kidding? i’ve never even heard of your restaurant before today! this is no way to treat a new customer!». He replied saying that I had called several times and cancelled my orders and he could see it by looking up my telephone number in their system. He hung up again. I let it go and began trying to get back into my driveway. After about 5 minutes the manager calls back and explains that he was looking at the wrong phone number and apologized. He further explained that he was very busy and just lost it — which I can sympathize with. I do completely accept the apology — but the behavior is still completely inexcusable, ESPECIALLY for a manager. I called to cancel my order less than two minutes after I placed it. Surely that didn’t inconvenience your restaurant enough to treat a customer so poorly. I’ll stick with Suki right down the road.

Decided to stop in here instead of Applebee’s and boy were we happy we did. Food is just as good if not better than Benihana and priced more reasonable as well. Not sure about others reviews of the service, ours was great. The fried rice had bacon in it, as it should! I was also really impressed with the homemade ginger salad dressing. I don’t usually like ginger dressing but theirs was amazing! I know that seems like a strange thing to point out but I was so impressed I had to comment.

***Sensational food, most of the time — you have to get the right chef, they don’t all cook equally. Also, DON’T be offended by the off-putting attitude of the waitstaff — all they are supposed to do is bring drinks and soup. The real personality is the hibachi chef! ***If you want sushi, just go somewhere else. They have sushi here, but this is a hibachi restaurant. Go to Tokyo in Monroe for sushi, their hibachi is absolutely terrible. ***Usually(especially at dinner) you’ll have enough leftovers to take home and have a whole other meal! ***Also, feel free to make odd requests: «Can I get double fried rice, and no vegetables?» «Can you chop up a few extra eggs and scramble them for my child?» «Could you leave the bacon out of my rice?» «Can I have spicy rice instead?» The chefs are surprisingly accommodating if you have a good attitude. Enjoy!

For special occasions, this is a fun place to eat! The chefs could be a little bit more interactive! But all in all a good place ! I had a combination plate of chicken & steak since I’m allergic to seafoods. Dinners come with a cup of clear broth & fresh salad with a delicious tasting Ginger Dressing! The service is warm & friendly.

so good and pretty quick service! all of the meat is great quality and the fried rice is so good! I usually just get a side of fried rice to go with yum yum sauce and it’s great!

I will never eat at this restraunt again. They tried to force an 20 dollar tip on me when I only have a party of 2. And then pitched a temperature tantrum when my fiancé told then we would not be told what we should and shouldn’t tip. The service was also hardly service.

Absolutely terrible service. Rudest staff I’ve ever seen and everything is a bother to them. Will never go back. Honestly surprised the place is still open.

I always come here when I want a quick hibachi fix. Their hibachi is pretty good, and the boyfriend always gets sushi and likes it. The only complaint I have is the service. Like many others have mentioned, the male waiters act like it is a chore to take out orders, speak, or even give a smile. Sometimes they will forget our drinks. I do like coming here but almost feel like I should go somewhere else just based on the attitude of some of the servers.

The food is ok. The health score will scare you though. If you get the male server be prepared to get an attitude.

Y U M M Y! The best Japanese we’ve ever had. We have been going for 5 years and it’s never been less than amazing. We don’t do sushi but the Snow Mtn sushi plate is incredible. It’s not one of the raw ones… that’s all I know. It’s never too crowded and if you sit at the bar or a small table, you can be eating soup and salad in 5 minutes. The best part is that they will bring you a giant squeeze bottle of Yum Yum sauce! Delicious!

It is so bad I’m writing this review before we are even getting our meal. We are here for my Wife’s Birthday. We got here at 4:45PM. They seated us at an empty grill and took our order. After taking our order they left us sitting here for 30 minutes waiting on more people to get here. We had to wait on the other people to order before the cook ever came out. Basically, the let us sit here anvisitd be hungry and stare at the walls just so they could fill up the grill. The cook is also a arrogant smart ass. We have been coming here for a long time, but this may be the visit.

The food is okay, but the service is absolutely horrible. Two of the main servers there make you feel like you’re a complete bother to them. While I do enjoy going for the food, I have had my last visit there. The staff would rather sit at a table and talk on their cell phones than come and take your order, and when going in at noon in the middle of the week(when they had 5 customers) I was told that I could only sit at a grill unless I wanted sushi. Being highly allergic to shellfish, it is a must that my food be cooked in the kitchen and kept separately from everyone else. It is almost impossible to keep my food from being contaminated at a hibachi grill. Overall, while the food is decent, I can go to Sake Gura in Snellville and have good food and MUCH better service. Hopefully the staff at Kyoto can get their attitudes in check before they run their establishment into the ground. My family will never go back.

Until tonight, this had been my favorite spot for teppanyaki(or what all the locals will call«hibachi»), but this evening was my third experience of being seated behind the chef because existing patrons were enjoying their comfortable spacing at the table. Like the last two times this has happened to me, I was seated in the connecting section, closer to the adjacent teppan table than my own. Once I realized that two of the previously seated guests were only ordering sushi, that was it– I decided not to eat here this evening. The last two times, the existing some of the guests seated before us weren’t even eating. Additionally, we had a party of 8, and they had no problem seating us at an existing table with 4 people with 4 of us overflowing onto the connector and into the next table. I don’t blame the patrons seated before us– they were first to be seated. But for a restaurant charging about $ 20 an entrée in Loganville, I refuse to be seated behind the chef, only to be forgotten or get the leftovers at the teppanyaki table because the chef forgets you are his customer. The food here has always been good, however, I feel it is priced above average in this market given its location. This was the third strike for me. If I really want to eat Kyoto, I will order carry out or come at lunch where it is more reasonably priced, otherwise I will elect to go somewhere where the seating is more consistent.

Went here for lunch. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Wait staff seemed like it was a bother that anyone was there. So much so my friend asked the waiter if he was having a bad day cause he wasn’t smiling or anything and his reply was, «No, I’m hungry like you»(wow) The ginger salad dressing was very good. The soup however had no taste at all. The California rolls were pretty good. I ordered the filet and must say it was delicious — cooked just right medium rare and excellent flavor. My friend ordered the chicken and it wasn’t nearly as good. The teriyaki sauce was very watered down. We both got spicy fried rice and it was excellent. After eating my filet I started in on my vegetables, very good and rice. Unfortunately after several bites of the rice went to get another bite and there was a hair coming up with my fork out of the rice. Looked at it good hoping maybe it was one of mine. Unfortunately it definitely was not one of mine. Called one of the waitresses over who looked at it and call the manager/owner over. He came over and looked at it and walked off. He came back and asked which order on the ticket was mine and I told him. I told him to charge me for the fillet which I had eaten thinking this only fair. He ended up taking 3.00 off of my bill. I paid my bill and tip and left but kept thinking about the fact that he nor anyone else EVER said I’m sorry or apologized in any way and also how after that happened I couldn’t even eat my vegetables, but that wasn’t taken off. I paid almost 15.00 for a lunch that was not enjoyable. I will not be going back here as I feel like they just look at you as a $$ coming in the door not a personable customer.

Very friendly staff and atmosphere, fried rice is good, chicken is good, the vegetables are ok(a bit too much butter for my taste), the salad and house dressing is good, the soup is not so good. Great experience. Will come back when in town again!

I just recently moved to Loganville and was disappointed I was going to have to find a new hibachi place since we were no longer near our favorite place, Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville. I had been to Kyoto before and remembered having great food and great service… so I figured we could try this place again. We have been going to Kyoto now for a few months and each time the wait staff seem to be in the worst of moods. They are not friendly and almost seem annoyed when you order. Since there are not many other hibachi places in the area we continued to go back. Well, last night we went and had been sitting and waiting for 20−25mins on them to come out and start cooking the food. I understand they have to prep food and that takes time, however, there were just two of us at the table! As we are waiting, a huge family walks in with about 5 – 6 kids along with several adults. The owner/manager decided to seat them at our table! This meant we were now going to have to wait even longer for them to place their drink orders/figure out what each person/kid wanted to eat/bring out their soup-salad/prep ALL of the food/and then come cook it. I could not believe it! We had already finished our soup and salad and had been waiting forever and now were going to have to wait on this family. I understand they try to fit as many people at a table as possible, but when people have already been waiting, there are other open tables and a huge family walks in… you sit them at their own table! If it had been another couple or even three people it would have been different. The entire family did not even fit at our table. A few had to sit in the middle section! We decided that we did not want to wait another hour so we told the owner we were leaving and wanted to pay for the salad/soup we had eaten and our drinks. When we told him why we were leaving, we were informed that this family were regulars. That’s fine… from now on we will be making that 30min drive over to Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville where we were once«regulars»!

We have been visiting Kyoto for years, since they opened. We are about a 45 minute drive away but make the trip. The food is out of this world. They are the only ones I know who makes spicy fried rice which is my favorite, with the shrimp sauce. We love the Hibachi because the chefs are always very entertaining. I usually get the steak and chicken which is cooked to perfection. The soup is a yummy broth that has a little bit of stuff in it but very tasty. This is our favorite place to go on a date!

My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant many times and each time it was fantastic. The only issue we’ve ever experienced is an occasional slight over-cooking of the steak and chicken. I always have the Shrimp and Chicken Hibatchi, my wife always gets the Steak and Shrimp Hibatchi. Our recommendation… load up on the pink sauce, it’s awesome! They call it the«yum-yum» sauce.

The Fiancé and me liked it better than many of the Japanese Hibachi places we have hit through the years. Food was fresh and tastier than most, and the usual chop-chop show was better in that our chef participated with the crowd more than in other hibachi places I’ve been to. Overall, a nice hibachi experience with better-than-the-average show. Food quality and taste was above most to me as well, and we each left with to-go containers of mostly the fried rice(they do give a LOT of rice), but I still cringe at the prices for these places as I really don’t see much value in them; rice is cheap and I would prefer more quality meat for the money. I’ll return with the near-to-be missis again despite what I feel remains a high price to value for hibachi chop-chop.

When this restaurant opened a few years ago, I used to frequent it mainly for the sushi. I had the hibachi once and it was excellent! I then moved away and happened to be in the area again for a personal trip. I wanted sushi so I stopped in with my fiancé. The sushi was as good as I remembered in the past. The guy making the sushi was sloooow! I heard others at the sushi bar say that the other guy is much faster. They were also out of the asparagus that was supposed to be in one of our rolls so we selected a different roll. Overall, still a good place to get some sushi!
