Talked with Tom about a trip to Hawaii. Got some good ideas. Shopped around and found a great deal with the travel agent connected to my favorite airlines program(massive amount of points to be added) and went ahead and booked with them. Upon my return from my trip I received a consulting invoice. What? Really? With a 10 day notice to pay. I really don’t recall signing anything agreeing to this. And before the 10 days was even up I received an email threat of legal/collection action if I didn’t pay or pay on-time. «Please be advised that this bill needs to be paid by 4-23-2015. If not paid by that date it will either be turned over to a Collection Agency or Cook County Small Claims Court. Thanking you in advance. Tom C» A pre-emptive threat even before the due date? Is this the way to run a ship? Isn’t this what travel agents do? Talk to clients and quote trips? Notice I didn’t say listen to clients, no matter how many times I told Tom that I had United status and only flew United, he continued to quote air travel on Alaska Airlines. Sigh! Caller beware I guess. After some deeper investigation I have found that Tom was trying to date a friend of mine here in Chicago. When he rebuffed those attempts and he stopped further communication, Tom C took his anger out on me. Tom C, I’d recommend keeping your personal affairs and your business affairs as separate matters. Very unprofessional.
