Soft crab appetizer is delicious! I enjoy coming here for lunch. Fabiola and her staff are wonderful.

I came to Yume from Roseville just because of the reviews. I went based on fellow Unilocalers’ reviews. The kicker was family owned and owners from Japan. Curiosity finally got the best of me. The special appetizer last Saturday was Tenpura purple yams. I knew when it came out it was going to be delicious. The batter was light and crunchy, not soft and doughy like other Tenpura’s at other«Japanese» restaurants. The taste of the purple yam was very pleasing to the palete. I ordered Salmon Teriyaki, hands down the best I have ever had. The sauce was perfect, not too sweet or salty with a hint of ginger. The salmon was cooked perfectly and melted in your rmouth. Well, come to find out after that they use sashimi grade salmon for the Salmon Teriyaki and you can tell. The salad dressing was classic, very light and tasty, typical Japanese style, no one flavor overwhelmed the other. My waiteress was so friendly and very helpful is describing the dishes on the menu. When I told her I drove from Roseville to try out Yume, she was very appreciative and thanked me repeatedly. I highly recommend Yume, I just wish there was one closer to home. Itadakimasu!!!

Don’t let the hole in the wall strip mall fool you. This place is pretty tasty and reasonably priced. The service is awesome. We came in on Valentine’s Day(no reservation) and thankfully they were open(they’re typically closed on Sunday’s). We ordered a few rolls, Nigiri, sake, edamame, and even paid an $ 8 corkage fee to open one of our bottles of wine we just picked up from a local winery. All in all we walked out under $ 70 for the 2 of us — including tax & tip! I can certainly see us going back here next time we’re in the Lodi area.

We discovered they make Inari sushi so we decided to try them out last night. They were fantastic, so were the California and Dragon rolls and Unagi Nigiri. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be back!

I always enjoy the sushi here! Our usual order includes the Lomi Lomi, mixed tempura, and shrimp tempura roll. We had friends with us today so we also tried some other items including the tuna ceviche and special Yume roll. Everything was fresh and delicious! Glad we went early for lunch since the place filled up shortly after.

Water tastes like dirt. Flies won’t leave you alone. Over priced for the quality. Eel was poor quality. Dragon roll was awful. Chicken Teriyaki was mediocre at best. Have to say I finally found the worse Japanese Cuisine.

This family owned Japanese restaurant is an absolute delight! The owner took care of us and she was wonderful. Her husband, the chef, made the freshest sushi and everything was delicious! Also, their fried oysters were huge, fresh, and probably the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!!! Our new fave Lodi sushi spot :)!!

I lived in Japan for four solid years. Not on an army base, but settled in-between rice fields in rural Shimotsuma. I ate traditional Japanese meals with my Japanese husband and his family. I’ll say Yume with its owner straight from this bustling island himself brings back the tastes I miss while being back in the states. Very traditional, but with subtle American flairs enjoyable to all. Once you know what real Japanese food tastes like you won’t be going back to the run of the mill chains.

We had been here once when first opened. It did not impress. We’re sorry we waited so long to try it again. We started off the spicy Seared Tuna Salad. Very tasty with a generous amount of perfectly done tuna with sliced avocado and just the right amount of sesame oil dressing. The Spicy Red dragon was great. Simply not to fancy or saucy. The Spicy Crunchy Scallop roll is the best we have ever had. Not only did it have asparagus inside but the plate was adorned with spears to make it one of the most eye catching sushi roll we’d ever seen. $ 16.00. We’d eat two if we could. We have never had to wait for a table but we always go during the week. It’s our go to sushi place now.

Oh man. This place is so good. Literally just finished my meal and its amazing. I called in a togo order for my lunch and it was ready to go in no time. The lady at the front was extremely nice and the atmosphere inside was lovely. I will definitely be back again.

I have a love-hate relationship with sushi, so this place getting 5 stars is a big deal. Everything here is very fresh and flavorful.

I stopped in for a quick lunch with my 7 month old baby. Most places have staff that would cringe at the prospect of a single adult diner plus a baby. Not Yume! We had wonderful & friendly service from Fabiola, the hostess. The miso soup is sublime, the Chirashi came with a very generous array of sashimi(Oh, how I Love, LOVE, LOOOOVE the scallop sashimi!!!). They even brought us a tiny plate of cubed tofu for my little one, so he could try something new. Outstanding service, wonderfully fresh & artfully prepared sashimi and sushi rice. Highly recommended.

I’m a simple girl. I love smooth jazz, I love great customer service, I love trying new things and I love sushi! How could I not love Yume?!? I came here for a complimentary sake tasting tonight and left with a couple of bottles. The gentleman offering the tasting was ingratiating and knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable experience. Typically we order a multitude of sushi but decided to try some new things tonight. We were not disappointed. Of course we had a few rolls lol and I love how fresh the salmon on the spicy salmon roll tasted! My boyfriend had a pork katsu that was flavorful and unique. I tried the peanut chicken and long story short, everyone had their chopsticks in my plate! The flavor was perfect! I feel so sorry for anyone with a peanut allergy who will never be able to taste it’s magnificence. The owner and head chef Masa is such a friendly, hardworking person and his wife and all the other staff are nice and attentive. The interior is small and simple and I love how they play light jazz music. There is a reason this place is constantly being awarded and touted as the best in Lodi.

I will miss Masa & his wife, Fabiola… as I am moving away… I loved to dine here especially when I have meetings since it is quiet even when the place is full. Perhaps, a nice Jazz music motivates customers to listen & talk quietly… The food is always fresh & don’t have to look at the menu as Masa will let you know special dishes that he can create for you today… he surprises me every single time… Oishi!!! My older son who is into gormet food likes sushi without sauce & nuts… this place is his first choice to go when he wants Japanese food. I will definitely visit Yume when I come back to visit Lodi… On my second thought, Masa’s family should move with me to Long Beach!!! Arigato & Sayonara!

Yume is definitely my Lodi Area Favorite for Japanese food. Recently, they started offering a «Dinner for Two» for $ 35 which includes: Edamame Gyoza(best tasting around!) Miso Soup 2 entrees(they even let you do minor substitutions, which is awesome!) 2 mochi balls for dessert. My wife loves their SPICYTERIYAKI sauce, last night she had the Salmon. I love the Crunchy Rainbow Roll. I’ve had many different items from their menu as well as specials over the last few years and I have yet to have anything that wasn’t up to par.(I still love the pumpkin tempura and the eggplant appetizers!) Fish is always fresh and never questionable…(Ever had sashimi that you were afraid to put it in your mouth? Well that has never happened here!) The service is almost always excellent: prompt and attentive. The place is always clean. They have a wide array of Sake to try. They always have relaxing dinner music playing softly in the background which adds to the family friendly atmosphere.(As opposed to at least one place in town where I leave with a headache after sitting through 45+ mins of head thumping hip hop — Not to say I don’t like dance music, but save it for the club scene… Needless to say, I don’t go that place any more) The owner is very friendly and always makes sure to step out from behind his sushi bar to make sure all of his guests are having an enjoyable meal.
