This place looks very much like places I’ve seen in Mexico. Just a little hole in the wall, with some coolly bizarre artwork on the walls. The menu is posted on a chalkboard above the salsa bar. My dh ordered the asada fries at the recommendation of the guy working the counter. He said it is their most popular dish, and for obvious reasons. It was full of flavor – spicy, smoky, yummy! My husband let me have a bite or two; it’s large enough to be shared if your appetites aren’t too large. I had fish tacos. They were tasty; I only wish they had been topped with cabbage instead of lettuce the way they are in Mexico. The fish was grilled, not fried, which is a huge plus. Be aware that they do not refill sodas, so order your size accordingly. Or, just get a bottle of Coke or a can of Pepsi – they offer both.

Excellent food always consistent, great service & very affordable. It’s a family owned & operated business that has very good customer service. This is the spot to come & grab a bite when your out late at the bars.

I just finished a takeout order of carne asada fries. I can’t believe how good they were. The meat was ridiculously flavorful, everything about it was great. Just awesome. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Happens to be the best non-taco truck Mexican food in Lodi. The restaurant is small and intimate. The artwork on the wall is a really good conversation piece. It looks like a traditional Mexican location. I ordered a burrito and my girlfriend ordered three tacos. We made sure to pick up the caramelized onions that were right there on the counter. It’s like crack. It’s so addicting. The burrito was delicious and savory. The burrito was huge and not too expensive. I was definitely satisfied with my food. I’ll definitely come back. It’s open late so I am excited to go out on School St and get my food while drunk.

Place is decent for a taco spot but in Stockton the same chain of restaurants is cheaper than in Lodi which I didn’t like. It’s the same food it should be the same price. Almost 9 dollars for the asada fries is pretty high plus its a small order. The restaurant could use some more frequent cleaning as well since the tables are always pretty dirty when I dine in. Service is not bad but it shouldn’t be since all they do is take your order then call you up when its ready.

I eat here almost every day because they are DELICIOUS, FAST, CONSISTENT, and they have BEER. I can come in, spend $ 10 and get a great meal and a beer and be in and out in 15minutes. Perfect for a 30min lunch break.

I eat here 3 – 6 times a week, and their food is always amazing! The staff is very polite and the service is quick. I usually get a veggie burrito, and they are delicious! It’s hard to find a restaurant that is consistently good, but this place is great!

Best asada fries and asada burritos in town. I don’t go anywhere else. Better than taco trucks!

This place has incredible food. They are consistent. And I’ve never had anything bad. Unfortunately there is almost always someone panhandling or begging out front and it makes it a little awkward. Really wish they would do more to discourage this.

Came here in the middle of a wine-tasting tour of Lodi. Tasty, filling burrito(I got a vegetarian, boy friend got a carnitas super); several delicious salsa options — the green salsa is outstanding(the heat sneaks up on you, though); friendly and prompt service. Lunch for two for under $ 16. Great deal!

I eat here everyday except the day it closes on Tuesdays. My personal favorite is All meat cadne asada Burrito with extra cilantros and onions. On mondays they have taco mondays 1.00 each taco. What I love is the condiments station where you can help yourself with hot sauces, limes, jalapeños grilled or pickled, and my favorite, grilled onions!!! I stack a lot of that!!! El grullense makes their burrito and tacos like how your favorite burrito trucks would make them. I give 5 stars because I personally eat there a whole lot and they are very consistent with making their food. Unlike some places and trucks that somedays would taste good and somedays bad, they are on point daily. One day I saw how they maranate and cook their meat, and let me tell you, you are going to get quality meat, not that cheap stuff. 5stars

Ridiculously cheap! And fast. It’s a classic hole in the wall taqueria, with no surprises. I got the vege burrito(vegan without extras), which cost about $ 3. I don’t think there was beer on offer. I’d go back, except Lodi holds no appeal at all for me. Still, for vegan options, pretty hard to beat if you’re in town.

On my first ever trip to downtown Lodi, I checked out the town, hit up some bars, even tried a cigar. After all that fun, I was desperate for something to fill my belly and I probably would have eaten anything by that point. A nice young man walked my friend and me over to this taqueria which closes their indoor restaurant at night but keeps operating out of a walk-up window. There was a substantial line but it moved fairly quickly. We each ordered a couple of street tacos and my friend and I split a spicy vegetarian burrito. Not only did it surpass any late-night mexican food I’ve had in Sacramento, I’ve actually been craving it every day since. No super goopy, lardy, refried beans. No old grease soaking into the tortillas. The food was delicious, made well, and packaged perfectly for eating on the go.
