Sunshine Hawaiian BBQ

Food here is good. Not exceptional but definitely good.
The place is already incredibly clean which is nice. They are also pretty fast and it’s a reasonable price for the portions.

I wanted to give 2 ½ stars but rounded up. The first thing I noticed about the restaurant was the flashing neon, rope lights in the windows. They are very bright when it’s dark outside and there is nowhere in the place to sit where you cannot notice them. Very annoying! It’s like eating with a cop car sitting right outside the window. I think next time I will just get my food to go so I don’t have to eat trying to avoid the glaring blue flashes.
The room is spacious with some wine-​country murals on the back wall and tiki idols lined across the opposite wall. It could use some more «Hawaiian» themed décor. I like the tables; they’re not straight-​sided, but rather have wavy sides. Painted blue and peach colors, they’re reminiscent of sea and sand. Pretty cool.
The food was pretty good. The dh had the Hawaiian BBQ Mix with bbq beef, bbq chicken, and short ribs. I had the Seafood Mix with deep-​fried shrimp, deep-​fried white fish, and bbq chicken. Both combos come with plain, white rice and cooked cabbage and macaroni salad. My husband liked all his food but said the ribs were really chewy. I really liked the chicken; it had so much flavor! The shrimp tasted un-​seasoned, but the fish was fine. I added a lot of teriyaki sauce to the plain rice and used the katsu sauce for the shrimp which added the missing flavor. The cabbage was cooked just right, and the mac salad was okay. It lacked flavor, but my husband liked it.
They serve Pepsi products to drink.
When you go to order, be sure to look at the paper, to-​go menu on the counter; it has more listings than the above-​the-​counter menu. It also has short descriptions of each dish. They also had a dish on a big poster in the window that I noticed when we pulled up; it wasn’t on either menu, but the cashier described it to me and told me its price when I asked.

Super quick, super clean, super delicious. Staff is really friendly, and the BBQ is really good! So glad we finally got a Hawaiin BBQ spot! It’s a tiny bit sad because we miss Califa’s, which used to be in this location.

I work at a business in this center and have had good food pretty much every time I’ve gone here I love their bbq chicken and their kahula pork… Good size portions even on their mini meals very clean resteraunt and very nice people…

Wow! I mean wow! The customer service is AMAZING and HONEST! They accidentally put in my order wrong and they let us keep the incorrect ate and made a brand new fresh correct plate in minutes! Plus they gave us our $ back for the price difference! The food was fresh and HOT! While it’s not in a very «trendy» spot it is clean inside and the employees are constantly cleaning in their down time! All this place needed was a bit more décor and some pineapple. I highly recommend this place!

Pretty good I’d say! Super convenient since we don’t have to drive to Stockton for the same food! It’s just as good as other Hawaiian bbqs. Um customer service is ok, depending who’s helping you.

Delicious Hawaiian plates! We tried the kalua pork, seafood mix and beef bbq mix. Short ribs were deeply marinated in a sweet soy and were tender. Next time we will order a plate of them! Bbq beef had a good flavor and texture. Chicken came with both plates. Thigh meat perfectly cooked and juicy. I liked the kalua pork but my friends aren’t fans of liquid smoke (it wasn’t too overpowering but you knew it was there) Steamed rice and macaroni salad comes on the plates. Ambience isn’t great but clean. We called in our order and ate there. Our food was ready when we got there…15 minutes. Please give them a try!

Better than Onos and L&L. Fast and friendly service. Would come here more often. I think you’re crazy if you think it’s bland.

Just opened in Lodi and I was surprised at how good it was for a chain. The dining area is large with plenty of seating. The décor is imho just right Br to overbearing but gives a Hawaiian feel. For the amount of food you get I think price was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly. I had the combo platter and enjoyed the beef best. The rice is steamed so nothing to write home about. The macaroni salad was good nothing special. But then again your there for the meat.

Tried it for the first time today for lunch. We just got back from Hawaii and was worried it wouldn’t measure up… but it did. Food is good, prices are reasonable and awesome customer service. We will surely be back

Great to know we have one in Lodi we don’t have to drive out to Stockton anymore, food was great.

This place is pretty good typical H BBQ food is fresh service is great, one thing I was not a fan of was the crispy shrimp to me it wasn’t good a lot of breading for a shrimp and very bland the mac salad tastes like mayo but to me that’s common for places like this, everything else like the chicken, rice, beef are very good I’ve been twice and will return! I enjoy the chicken and bef combo place it’s not on their menu but it’s an option its something like 8.64 (no drink)

We enjoyed this place, everything we got was good I got a mixture plate and soup. The wife got a spicy chicken that was probably the best and Ryan even liked his chicken plate

Good food, tastes like most of the chain Hawaiian BBQ places. Interior was pretty clean, bathroom kinda smelled. Got my food to go. Generous servings, will go back again!

This place was disappointing. It has been open a few weeks and is filthy. The bathroom smelled like a wet cellar. I realised the filth is years of buildup on the floors and tile. The carpet at the entry is gross with huge brown spots. This building was not cleaned between owners/​business’. The chicken was great, the macaroni salad tasted like mayonnaise.

Ate there with a friend today. We both enjoyed our meals-​he the Loco Moco and I the Chicken Combo. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and good sized portions. We both said we would return.

Um… They were very nice and let me modify the menu so, I could order what I wanted. The shrimp were bland, so was the chicken. The beef had a lot of fat and was very chewy. They need to separate the macaroni salad it got warm and gross, it also had no flavor tasted like pure mayonnaise… No poke! The place was clean and nice. I think it was a Mexican restaurant before. We were really disappointed. Neither one of us finished our food. The crab Rangoon was normal, no sweet and sour. Good luck peeps! The spicy chicken was pretty good.

Finally!!! Lodi gets a Hawaiian BBQ location and the food is delicious.
Reasonable and lots of food. (Painting of mural from old restaurant needs to go) but the food is delicious and the place is clean and that is what matters the m (ost to me.
Ordered a variety of items to try and share. We all loved the choices and will definitely come back.
