Not sure why all the bad reviews??? I have been here a few times and have had great experiences. I highly recommend this place for adopting a pet. Do not let the bad reviews deter you.

I have found this to be a kind and caring group of people who love animals. We have donated money, food and toys for the animals several times. Shelters need our support and I am thankful for the volunteers who walk and care for the dogs and offer caring and kindness for the endless flow of homeless and abandoned animals.
We recently lost our precious cat we had for 17 years. He was an abandoned cat in the neighborhood. We enjoyed every day with this friendly and sweet little guy and oh he will be missed!
Please get your animals spayed and neutered. It’s the single most important thing we can do to help our overcrowded shelters. Kudos to everyone who reaches out to homeless and needy animals everywhere. You rock!

I wish I could rate this place lower. The rude woman that works there is a detriment to animals finding forever homes. Went in to look for a big, black male cat since our baby passed away a couple of years ago due to kidney failure. Saw a cutie on the website, went in the shelter to see him. Rude lady asked me accusingly why I wanted a BLACK cat. Ummm because that’s what I want? She kept pressing and then finally spat out, «well people like to DO THINGS to them!» Wtf? Then when I asked about the cat on the website, she snarled, «That’s MY cat!» First, you ignorant slag, having pink hair doesn’t make you a «witch» and if a person WAS of such religion, they certainly don’t DO THINGS to animals. For the record, I am Buddhist, was secretary and treasure of my 4-​H club, am working on a PhD, have 3 kids that are straight A students, and am mommy to 4 well cared for shelter pets. I can’t imagine how many animals remain homeless because of the caustic personality of the ignorant hag in the office.

I first would like to say that I’ve always been a big believer of PALS. When our beloved JRT passed away, we donated all of his beds (we just bought one of them & it was over $ 150), bags of toys that had never been used, treats, dog food, etc. They valued everything at $ 450. Since then, I have donated $$$ to PALS so they can take care of the dogs until they are adopted. I went there today since I changed dog food for our 2 dogs. I wasn’t going to bother but then when it was about 10 lbs I decided that the dogs could use it and it was Merrick Grain Free Duck (5*) and Fromm Duck (4*). I asked the woman outside and she thanked me for thinking of them & told me to come in. Inside, the much younger male stated that ‘we don’t take food that’s not in an unopened bag”. Gee, I didn’t know that helping out a homeless dog meant that it had to be all new stuff and a starving dog needed to have food from an unopened bag. REALLY??? I sharply stated that was fine and I would just throw it away! I was livid to say the least… the older woman said that they may not be able to take it however they could give it to the shelter! I today’s paper there is something that says «WANT TO HELP HOMELESS PETS IN LODI?» …and it lists PALS! I will NEVER again bring anything to them much less checks that I have given them. It was bad enough when I was looking for another JRT and the two *SHELTERS” in Lodi never returned my call or emails. I wish they would never post articles in the paper unless they do more research

I called here to ask about volunteering and the lady on the phone was so rude. She acted like iI was stupid and I was waisting her time. All I wanted to do was help them but I guess I will go some place else. I feel sorry for those animals having to deal with that mean lady

The volunteers at PALS are absolutely amazing and so wonderful to work with. We adopted a dog from them and they were incredibly helpful and willing to go out of their way to make the process as smooth as possible. You can tell they really love the animals they have rescued and are excited when they find new loving homes.
