I love the concept of this winery… the church provides such a cool and unique atmosphere which sets them apart. However, we weren’t impressed with much else. Firstly, it was absolutely freezing cold inside of the winery when we arrived. It made the wine tasting just a little less enjoyable. Secondly, the wines just weren’t good at all. We aren’t necessarily picky wine drinkers but we just didn’t like the taste of any of them. On the other hand, I did appreciate their unique wine names/bottle labels. If I was back in the area with new people, I’d take them here but only to see it… likely not to taste.

Wines would be a 3, atmosphere would be a 4(it’s a neat place!), winter tasting room would be a 2(very uninviting). The wines didn’t have any price list, and weren’t on display. The taste of the wines were very typical; nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible. Very average.

The tasting room for this winery is housed in and old church… this place has so many atmosphere. It is a photographers wet dream. We probably spent an hour photographing the place before we tried the wine. And it was good wine. Not all of it of course, but they did have a very good red… my wife and I are white wine drinkers so it was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Was so excited to go to this winery but come to find out after our two hour drive it was closed for cleaning on Tuesdays and Thursday. It was our first stop. No closed sign, walked right in and was asked did we have an appointment. We said no sorry closed for cleaning no offer if we liked to try a tasting or anything so we were bummed but looked cool inside.

I agree with the other reviewers that this place is so cool to visit! I was visiting Finger Lakes for a wedding(we’re from Chicago), and searched Groupon for wineries in the area. Well we ran across this place and I thought, «Winery in a church, that’s awesome!» We bought the Groupon for a wine tasting for 2 and a bottle of wine to take home. When we arrived, it was a Thursday around 4, so we were the only ones in there(except for a group that came and left in 5 minutes). The owner was very nice, explaining to us the history of the church, showing us pictures, and even teaching us how to taste wine(I had never been). The story behind the place, and the owners’ story is really cool and unique! Also, she said they do weddings there, which is awesome. Overall, great experience, good value, the service was exceptional, and a cool venue. How can you go wrong with this? Perfect spot for people who are not experienced wine tasters because they explain everything, and good for people who like good wine!

Really cool place to visit. Wine tasting room inside of Old church, how cool is that? They don’t grow their own grapes yet but they are on going process to make those thing happen. Abby who is the owner was so passionate about wines. She explained us about winery symbols and how they transformed old church to winery. Their wines were pretty okay. Liked Gewurtztraminer and white ghost wine. They also brew their own beers, I loved them all. They all have special character into it. They don’t open Tuesday and wednesday. It is worth to drop by if you like sweet wine and also hand crafted beer. If you are lucky you can meet their dog who is extremely welcoming and sweet.

This is an old Presbyterian church turned by the owner into a winery. The old setting remains with it’s original lock and the wineries logo was made from its original stained glass. It’s architectural is magnificent. What an art. The place is beautiful and huge. As you come in you’ll meet Matuk(a mixed of Great Dane) who’s so playful and a huge dog. Who’s also there to entertain every guest. They have great selections of wines and they make their own beer. Wine tasting was $ 5.00 and still charge you even after purchasing, maybe that’s how some wineries are. Still We went back twice to bring in more friends. The owner is friendly and efficient. She knows her stuff. Me and my friends got more wines after the second trip. It’s a must to stop and see. A place I would go back again.

Would have never stopped here had it not been for Unilocal.Very cool place with lots of potential. I agree with a previous rater, Mr. Tasty was worth the stop! Not much for the sweet wine drinkers, but my sister, who tends to be a real wine-snob, enjoyed the Reisling — and she usually only buys reds. Will be back to see what the future holds for this unique place.

The owner was a tall drink of water. Our group nicknamed him«Mr. Tasty.» ;-) The dry reisling was as delicious as the owner. He is doing great things with this place, can’t wait to see the mural. Looking forward to our next visit.

So this place is insanely cool to go to! The owner bought an old church from the 1800s and turned it into a winery. You do your tastings at the old pipe organ spot that’s been turned into a tasting bar. There is a very friendly dog named Marook(may have that spelled wrong) that makes the rounds and greets everyone with his throw toy. The wine from this place has a little something for everyone. It makes a really good dry set of wines including a Chardonay and Pinot Noir and it makes some really good sweeter wines one of which is named for the dog. Now that we found this place we are definitely adding it to our standards for the wine tour. They are supposed to have beer but we missed their first offering of it by one day. Next time we’ll have to see how good their beer is. They have a large area on the inside set aside for art work, gatherings, weddings, etc. What better place to be married then at a church that’s old and it serves it’s own wine and beer? This place is great and I’m glad we stumbled upon it.

I am starting to feel jealous of those living in Lodi, NY. The secret is about to be exposed ya’ll because I am sharing my love of Eremita again. We pulled into Eremita on Saturday after a tour of South county which included Trumansburg, the Finger Lakes forest and Lodi. The drive between the two spots is amazing. The views reminded me of Europe. We are all lucky to live in such a great place. Eremita was hopping this past Saturday! We felt like we were crashing a party, but not to worry we were immediately recognized by Joshua and made to feel very welcome. We left with 5 bottles after a quick tasting of the wines that have come on board since our last stop. One being a white Pinot Noir, delicious, elegant and perfect in the warm summer months. I just love this winery and their product and the WORKING owner which is rare.
