Red Bridge is a great and fun course to play. The value is excellent as compared to many other courses in Charlotte. Conditions have been very good the times that I played. As mentioned by others, there is nothing special about the clubhouse — but if you are like myself then you mostly care about the golf. Pace of play was good — both weekend rounds I played in about 4.5 hours and one round was cart path only. It is a challenging course, no two holes alike, and great scenery. Only downside is that it is a long drive from anywhere near the city. It is one of my favorite courses in Charlotte.

This course kicked my butt last year and I believe it will continue to do so until I get my golf game in order. Good mix of long and short holes. Well maintained and very quiet. Since this course is located in Locust you can’t really hear any city noises which is great to get away and have a good golf outing. The overall club is still up and coming so the clubhouse is small… when I played last year, the back deck did not have a lattice covering so they’ve been working on it! The staff is super friendly and are very accommodating for group tournament play. The master plan for this place is gorgeous with the mix of single family and town homes being sold at the moment. Currently the club house has a gravel parking lot that fills up pretty quickly since they course offers a lot of low prices to get people talking about it(also the lack of amenities makes the course pretty affordable but I am sure the price will go up as soon as they start building more). There is a neighboring winery to the golf course that I need to check out(mental note)… and also a brand new wal-mart near the entrance if you need some last minute convenience items like say a hat or umbrella. They discourage outside food to be brought in and coolers as well, but an extra Gatorade in the golf bag won’t hurt anyone… especially in this summer heat! I am guessing they don’t want anybody passing out on the course and making headlines.

Clubhouse — one star — small, the single bathroom overused, rude owner, small and limited grub(no chili on the the dogs? come on!) Course Quality — four stars — this was a tough course with difficult pin locations and bunkers always in play. The scenery was great too. Course Play — one star — the course is overbooked on weekends and they recently had to redo the hole numbers to help facilitate quicker play, so expect to be driving back by the clubhouse 3 or 4 times and traveling longer distances on gravel trails. Took — almost 6 hours to play on a holiday Sunday and on hole 18, there were 4 foursomes on the hole at one time — WTF? I feel like this course wants to be great, but they don’t have it right yet…
