This Meat Market now has a food truck that serves beef on weck! Was glad to see them today at the Boulevard Mall Food Truck Event.
I love beef on weck and have never been to this meat market store. I tried beef on weck from the truck today and thought it was pretty decent. See, I like I beef mooing. The bloodier the better. The beef here is medium well-​well. Not my favorite but a good effort! Comes with pickle and horseradish on the side.

Meet on the Street with the Meat
I can’t say enough about Washburn Street Meat Mkt! The first thing you might think is, «AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Washburn!!! Lockport!!!» But its okay. The guys there were nice and helped me pick my meat. Its a very small shop and they have lots of meats’. And a real butcher block! And a real butcher! But not in the horror movie sense, more in the meat sense. If you heard the story’s I heard about Tops meat, you’d go to this market, too! Real, clean, meaty meat. Lock your car doors.

Before chicken wings were the local flavor it was a beef on weck. I’m told and it must have been a long time ago. That the local pubs used to give them away to have the patrons drink more beer. The weck was a hard roll with coarse grains of salt and caraway seeds. The meat and the sandwich can be found here. Back in the day others had the pleasure of serving this delicacy. Now it almost a lost art form.
