We tried this restaurant because of the«catchy» name and décor, which is really neat, but won’t be returning for the food. When we arrived, our twins were being crabby and the waitress was very helpful in getting them settled with crackers, drinks with lids and straws, and crayons and a color page. The décor was amazing! The food came out quickly – but ugh! Not good! My baked potato was burned and tasted awful, the seafood was poorly fried and rubbery, the hush puppies were unrecognizable and we couldn’t eat them. If we returned to experience the neat décor, we would probably just get dessert and hope for the best. The food was not good! But the staff was nice, the restaurant was clean, and it was a great photo op! Go, just to feel like you are under the sea for awhile. But don’t go hungry!

Got there at about 11 am on a Sunday. The place looks fantastic the décor is great the food was ho-hum. I had the shrimp po-boy. I had to order the sides separate which i find odd that you don’t get a side included. The shrimp to me seemed of the farmed variety which is disappointing being in a shrimp area. The po-boy was good but nothing to write home about. The fries were a bit soggy and the coleslaw was drowning in sauce/mayo. It was a decent meal but nothing fabulous

This is a new restaurant for the small town of Lockport, located right off Highway 1. Hard to miss with the giant crab on the façade. The interior murals created by local artist Hans Geist are worth the trip alone. Make sure you check out the details in every room. We as a family ventured here when my nephew from Tahiti was in town. As a Unilocaler, I always order a little bit of everything from the menu. Upon presentation, the food looked spectacular, but… Well here’s my thing… I can never understand 22 $ for a seafood platter of fried food. It seems to be the going rate, but for that price it should wow you. I’ve obviously been spoiled by Mr. B’s and their Barbequed shrimp as I didn’t enjoy Crabbys recipe and actually couldn’t eat it. All other dishes were okay, but nothing spectacular. The best thing was the raw oysters. At an average price of 30 $ per person, I could have taken my family to Fremin’s, Milanos or Christianos locally for fine dining. I noticed that they also charged me an additional 6.50 $ for nothing… hmmmm more than fishy… Overall the food was simply just okay. Cool atomosphere for a beer and freshly shucked oysters… maybe a poor boy, but nothing more expensive than that…

I walked in to an ocean of panted walls & thought I’d fallen in the sea. The song ’ under the sea’ from The Little Mermaid’ wouldn’t get out of my head. Then we ordered & the food came! It was then time to get serious. The gumbo was full of shrimp & crabmeat. Delish! My boiled shrimp salad was super & seasoned well. The fried shrimp were huge & tasty! We were all happy as a clams! I’m going back soon for more gumbo! Yum!

When Crabby Crab first opened it’s doors I was thrilled. A nice restaurant close to home with good food was a dream come true. Unfortunately, the food is no longer keeps me from a trip out of town. The place is beautiful and the people are nice but I hope they can rectify this problem with the food before they go under.

I’m pretty sure Sponge Bob was flipping crabby patties in the back. And while we weren’t in Bikini Bottom, we were surrounded by water and sea animals. Sea animals. Like, with legs, eyes and antenna… still on when served. And barely dead. Fresh, and I’m pretty sure were all looking at me when tabled. At all of us. A little scary! So, before I go further, let me make it clear that we are from the Midwest. I can see how this place would be revered by southerners. Fresh fish, served warm, looking like they came right out of the drink. Eyes and legs included. So, I’m sure this place would be a 5 star joint to anyone born south of Tennessee, but it was just different enough to hold it to a 4 for me. And there was no cocktail sauce for the shrimp… what’s up with that? But, we had a great time, ordered several different platters, and shared them amongst ourselves. Moving appendages and making small talk with the fishes was great fun, but eating them(as barbaric as that may seem after becoming friendly with them) was awesome! Fresh shrimp, crab cakes, soft shell crabs, seafood gumbo, hush puppies, and other items we sampled were all top notch! Décor was very nice with a flair I didn’t quite expect on this very long road that goes to the southern tip of Louisiana. Just be forewarned, if you are from the north, this isn’t your mama’s kitchen!

Service was excellent but no one in our party was too excited with their food. It was just OK. The seafood platters were huge but no one cared for the breading. Spaghetti sauce was very watery. Would like to go back and try again.

Waited five minutes before anyone sat us and it wasn’t busy. Once seated service was decent. Food was good. Generous ratio of crab meat in their entrees. The crab au gratin was full of crab. Crawfish bread was very good.

I happened upon this gem while traveling to an oil rig. They just opened up August 31. They are right next to the port, so you know the seafood is fresh! The artwork is AWESOME! Hats off to the artist Mr. Hans Geist from Houma, LA. The staff was courteous and available. The restaurant is clean. Large dining area. There’s also plenty of parking. Also, the beer is nice and CoLd!!!
