Stayed here on Saturday night while in town for a wedding. There aren’t really any other hotel options around here, but I’d recommend driving to a neighboring town if you need somewhere to stay. We got back to the hotel late, and after an hour or so of sitting in bed and watching tv, I got up to wash my face and brush my teeth. When I got back to bed, I saw two tiny bugs. Some quick googling confirmed my suspicion that they were bedbugs.(Hint: don’t google image search bedbugs unless you want to itch forever.) They were both young bedbugs(called«nymphs») and very small, but one was bright red and filled with blood, so it had already bit me. I turned to wake up my boyfriend, who was already sleeping in the other bed, and there was a full-grown bedbug by his pillow(see pictures). Although the front desk staff person was totally nice and offered us another room and a refund, we immediately got out, requesting a trash bag for our belongings so that we could isolate them for the long drive home. I’ve heard so many horror stories about bedbugs, so we weren’t taking any chances and immediately put everything in the washer and/or dryer when we arrived home at 3am, even our backpacks. Once bedbugs infest your home, they are very expensive to treat, and you may have to throw away furniture, clothes, etc. to prevent reinfestation. Please beware, this hotel has clearly tried to treat their infestation — the room was very clean, and I even checked the mattress when we first got there — but bedbugs are good at hiding and very difficult to kill.

The suites were nice and spacious. The beds were comfy too. The breakfast is served from 6−9am so you can just imagine the ridiculous line for the waffle Iron. Every time someone used the toaster or microwave the waffle iron would shut off because of the outlets being overloaded!

The best in town, no doubt, but in need of some TLC. My main complaint was a «key lock security» back door that didn’t work. Being on the edge of town, that door should be locked at night, even if not during the day. «Broken» does not say the right thing to a solo guest. Refrigerator in room was not working, until the cleaning crew came in to reset it. Again, TLC lacking.

This hotel was great except the beds were not comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered in the mornings was fantastic and the hotel and property were clean and nice. My only issue was with the beds. Initially my co-worker and I were sharing a room, but after one night and much snoring(I snored and she couldn’t sleep), we got a second room. So I was able to sleep in two different rooms. Both beds were hard. I mean these beds were about one step up from sleeping on the floor.

If you have to stay in Lockhart and don’t want to stay in some motor lodge that charges by the hour, this is about your only choice of a real hotel. The rates are pretty expensive for what you get. The AAA rate I got was $ 89 per night. In Houston, Dallas or San Antonio I could stay in a 4 star hotel for that price. The hotel is newish and has a pool, workout facility, and is a real hotel where you enter through the lobby. My room was clean, decent size and had a fridge/freezer combo and microwave. Pretty much what you would expect from a Best Western.

Booked a 2 kingsize bed suite for relatives coming into to lockhart to visit. Happened to be nascar weekend so their rates were high. The room was suppose to be $ 249.00 a night. They did have double queen rooms but there was only a $ 50.00 difference. But… When they arrived they received a 1 kingsize bed suite. I went down to front desk to complain and the girl at the counter was totally rude and wanted to argue with me about the«notes» she took. They switched my company to a double queen room with the rate the same as the kingsize room when they had just quoted me two days before that the queen would be $ 199.00 for Friday and 249.00 for Saturday. So they were over charged by $ 50.00. The manager, whose name is Charles and lives on the premises, never could take the time to call us and make things right. I will never recommend this hotel and I hope Charles realizes that the bad review was not worth the extra $ 50.00 that we got charged. The manager contacted me back two days after the above review and made things right as far as the rate and reimbursed my company back. He said he would reprimand or retrain the girl at the front desk. As far as the room there was no complaints. Prices still too high even if it was Nascar as far as I am concerned.

I’m not sure how many«nice» hotels there are to choose from in Lockhart. We stayed there on a Friday & Saturday and the rate with AAA was $ 125 a night. Certainly not worth that. The rooms were OK. They didn’t provide a TV channel guide in the rooms. The tub had no place to hold shampoo, razor etc. The wifi was plenty fast. The breakfast was really bad but there is a delicious Huddle House a stones throw away. We were part of a wedding party and everyone stayed there. I recommend shopping around for a nicer hotel or a cheaper rate when in Lockhart.

Rooms are nice but the the wifi is slower than 4g. the exercise room is small but the air is cool. Not much to choose from if you need to stay in BBQ land.

I made a confirmed reservation directly with the hotel on Saturday 8÷27÷11. I ask the rate and was told $ 79. I ask if AAA would help and I was told yes the rate would be $ 69. When I arrived that night and they did the paper work the clerk said it would be $ 96. I told him the clerk that made the reservation said it would be $ 69 and I had a confirmed reservation # 307 – 45. He said sorry they were busy and they could not give me that rate it would be $ 96. I declined the room and went else where. Really is that a way to do business! Richard Walters
