WHAT A SMELLYDUMP. just gross. Wish i could give it less than 1 star. There’s hardly any people in the place and it’s obvious why. What a shame

Went here a few times in the past 3 years. Most of the comics were pretty good. I do think the overall place and layout do have a lot to be desired.

This place has the potential to be great. It’s in a building that has a lively bar and dance floor area and a restaurant. There is plenty of parking. My last visit was ok. Two of the comics were pretty good but based on the website, we were expecting a different line up. We inquired after it was over and was told the website had not been updated. Their prices have went up. It is $ 18 now. Also there is a two drink minimum for each guest. I had one drink. I did not want two and luckily no one hassled me about it. I like the fact that there are speakers in the restroom so you don’t have to miss out on the show when you have to use the restroom. I did not try the food but I know there is an option to buy a ticket to the show that includes dinner.

I was here for a Holiday party and I must say the staff was great and the food was better than I expected. I had the prime rib and my friend had the farmhouse burger and both were excellent. Comedy club was very funny all and all was a great time. My only recommendation is that my friend really wanted hot chocolate with baileys for an after dinner drink and they said they didn’t have that. I thought this was strange since it’s Michigan and 25 degrees outside you would think having hot chocolate would be available. All and all great time!

The food was a bit over McDonald’s. And the show sucked. Nick Anthony was the comic, main attraction. But the pre show and host was soo much more funny. Don’t go unless you research the comic. Nick Anthony is ALWAYS a no!

The Too Funny Comedy Show was the worst thing I have ever seen. It wasn’t very funny but very juvenile. Guys thought they were shocking but cannot hold a candle to Richard Pryor. Go home and work on your acts before you bore us to death.

I would give the comedy portion 5 stars… I would give the food 1 star… so I settled for 3. Definitely come here for the show but DONOT eat here… there were 7 in our group and only 1 out of 7 could eat more than one or two bites of the meal. She got the ribs and they were quite good… the chicken bianco, tilapia, fettuccine alfredo and prime rib were inedible… we really tried to like it but… just…no.

I had a great time at the comedy show a week ago. The comics were HI-larious and the audience was responsive for the most part. I went with a group of 10 other people who also all had a great time. The tickets didn’t seem too expensive so it’s a great way to have fun with friends without spending too much and sacrificing the night.

This place was alright. Few comedians from different areas of michigan and a couple from out of state. Most were funny. I love comedy, everything comedy. The actual comedy club is atop kickers bar and is pretty big, but people were basically sitting on top of each other. Was very jam packed and to suffocating hot. Never drank so much water in one night. But all in all, wasn’t expensive to get in, waitstaff are alright. Got weird looks when ordering water, sorry ladies I didn’t want cocktails!

Drove 25 minutes from Detroit to catch the«Worlds Greatest Open Mic» this Monday to find a Open Tue-Sat sign on the door. Like the college professor that leaves a «class canceled» sign on the door this was very very frustrating. Please change your websites open mic section to Tuesdays only.

I came here with the living social deal and had a really great time. If you don’t have the deal with dinner and a show, I would recommend skipping the restaurant downstairs and just coming to the show. When we were first taken to our seats I was a bit thrown off by the set up. The seats are all arranged facing sideways to the stage and you’re instead facing the person across the table which in my case were people I didn’t know. Not a huge deal, but they should consider getting rid of their unnecessarily large tables and arranging the chairs in a theater style with smaller cocktail tables. The show was really fantastic. They had 3 comedians to start for the headliner and they were all hilarious. The headliner was alright, I think the openers were much better but I still enjoyed him. The drinks we got were priced $ 6 for a small glass of house wine and $ 5.75 for a decent sized draft domestic beer. Pretty typical for a comedy place. Our server was very nice and came by often to refresh our drinks. I recommend filling out the comment card at the tables because they draw for a free pair of tickets at the end of the show, which I excitedly won! :D Overall I would compare this place to the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase in drink selections and comedians. It’s a bit bigger and nicer, but I prefer the seating at the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase to Joey’s. If you like to laugh you’ll have a great time, you should definitely give this place a shot if you haven’t already.

Small, squished in… HOT were the negatives. GREAT comedian, last night(Bozeman). He was HILARIOUS! Laughed from the moment he hit the stage until he left. I appreciate that the first comedian didn’t allow hecklers to ruin the show. He put the heckler in his place. The crowd was great. Not a lot of chatting, talking over the comedian. Great waitress. She was hustling and did it all with a smile :)

A friend of mine was performing here, so I went. He and the main act were hilarious, but I was really turned off by how security handled some hecklers. I understand the sudden urge to become Chatty Cathy once you’ve had a few drinks. But if you don’t know how to control your chattiness, why come to a comedy show? The crowd is there to watch/listen to the comedian, not your side conversations about something or other. We weren’t even sitting within earshot — but we could hear the mumbles of someone trying to talk above the guy with the mic. Security came to kick the person out … until he realized Ms. Chatterbox is an employee! So she stayed. So the message you’re sending is: We don’t care how our employees act, they’re staying. Well, we’re not, then.

Two reasons drew me to this comedy club — knowing someone who was performing there and getting a Groupon. Not sure that I would return for other reasons than these. The drinks menu on the table was not up to date. I began to order from what looked like only two basic domestics on tap when my server informed me that there were actually other choices. As for food, our group ordered two nacho dishes, one with chicken and one with beef. Both were large servings for the price but not anything exciting. The menu is limited to typical bar food, so I would do dinner some where else before going to a show here. Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is when businesses do not train their employees or have good communication about how to handle Groupons. When the hostess seated us, she kept all of our group’s Groupons. Then, when the server began to take our orders and I mentioned the Groupons, she looked confused and said we needed to present them to her in order to redeem them. I directed her back to the hostess. Right after the show ended, management turned on the lights and asked us to finish drinks downstairs to the adjoining bar so were able to hang out for a bit. However, most people seemed to have jetted out with this abrupt request. The atmosphere seemed a bit off at the bar because it felt like an out-of-place lounge from a club, with its Top 40 music blasting and tall circular leather booths.

I attend comedy shows all the time(2+ times every month). Joeys is HORRIBLE. The worst I’ve ever been to by far. I recently attended a show last week. The hecklers took over the show. Nobody was kicked out. Security just watched. I emailed them the next day explaining my displeasure and never received an email or phone call back. Very unprofessional and just horrible all around. If you want to see a GOOD comedy show in the area, go to Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase or Comedy Connxtions in Toledo. Joey’s is horrible. Take heed in my warning and advice or you’ll have wasted your money yourselves. I keep trying to give this place more and more tries(I went there again this past weekend)… and it proves time after time how horrible of a «comedy club» this place is.

Just went last night for a work function. Limited dinner menu + the comedy show for $ 16 per person. This deal cannot be beat… especially when the comedy is actually funny! We saw Matt McClowery(opening act) and Phil Palisaul(main event). Both were just raunchy enough to make me happy and clean enough so I didn’t squirm with co-workers. They mentioned that you receive a free show for you and 5 friends for your birthday. Probably only good during the week, but still a great deal. Show started at 8pm(actually around 8:15) and went until almost 10pm.

We’ve seen a few good comedians here, including the house acts. The seating and arrangement are pretty comparable to what you’d find at any comedy club. The drinks are decent, which is important if you’re there with your free birthday passes. Once you sign up for their mailing list, you’ll get a pass for yourself and some guests the month of your birthday, but it stipulates a drink(two drink?) minimum purchase. Still a good bargain! I also know some people have set up charity events here, where your organization can get a cut of what’s going on that night depending on how many people show up at your invitation. I’m not sure on the details, but what I’ve heard of it makes it sound like a good option for fund raising.
