I am so glad we caught the Sunday brunch buffet at Cascades Banquet Hall in Livonia. It is run by the same guy who owns Deanglo’s Soul Food in Detroit. It is the last one until the first Sunday in Sept. I know I look forward to going back. It was so good! I filled up. I had fried corn, mac and cheese, dressing, rib tips, catfish, mashed potatoes, fresh baked wheat rolls, coleslaw, cabbage, and lemon pound cake. I also had a bite of Kevin’s fried chicken. They also had wild rice, baked chicken, green beans, meatloaf, potato salad, fruit salad, cranberry sauce and sweet potato pie. Everything was so good!

Sundays from 11a — 4p, Cascade Catering has a SOULFOODBUFFET. I was curious and decided to check it out. Cascade Catering and Banquet Hall opens up the doors to what could easily be your family’s get together/reunion. Everyone is warm and hospitable. Upon entering you pay $ 12 for an unlimited buffet. Buffet consists of salads(potato, cole slaw, fruit) and a whole bunch of choices from the buffet table… delicious cooked cabbage, bbq rib tips, turkey meatloaf, catfish, bbq chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, mac & cheese, cornbread muffins and more that I am just not thinking of. Everything is delicious — and again, you’d swear you were at a family function — the food tastes like everyone brought their specialties! The unpretentious tables are set up with linen cloths and a pitcher of water and a pitcher of weak koolaid. Gotta love it. I will definitely be back. The price was right. The hospitality was warm, and the food was home-style. Plus, I love the oxymoron of a soul food buffet in Livonia,
