Burger King

I like this BK. It actually has a homey feel and the employees are very friendly. Dining room is bright and clean. And i’m pleased that BK fries have improved in the last year, must have switched the recipe

I normally rave about any restaurant where I can get a vegetarian meal, BK is normally not an exception… until today. I went to the location on Middlebelt just north of 5 Mile and I will never go back.
My daughter had a certificate for a free kids meal for reading a bunch of books. Great! We will buy 2 more kids meals as well as meals for both me and my husband. Not a bad scheme they have going on!
They wouldn’t substitute a veggie burger on a kids meal. Ok, not a huge shock. We will get her some Mac n Cheese. Nope, they don’t carry that anymore. Ugh. Ok, what CAN you substitute for the meat in a kids meal I ask the not so pleasant cashier. Nothing, not even a side salad. Really? Not a stinkin’ side salad??? Are you F’ing kidding me? Nope. Not even a «nope» with a sorry.
So we left and went across the street to McDonalds, who happen to be VERY veggie friendly! They gladly make a grilled cheese for kids and will take $ 1 off off the price of a salad if you get it without chicken. So BK lost out on feeding a family of 5 because they were unwilling to substitute a burger for a side salad.
