If you like bugs in your food, go right ahead, eat here. Gross! My 2nd time eating here. My white plate was in front of me waiting for my pizza to arrive at my table. I grabbed a slice of pizza and put it on my white plate. I noticed a little bug crawling around on my plate next to my slice of pizza which was not there before the pizza arrived. What they do is put corn meal on a square platter then put the pizza on top of that, cut the pizza, then bring it to you. The bug came from their corn meal, disqusting. Then I told the manager they have bugs in their kitchen, the manager then replied: We do not”.She could not even admit it. DON’T EVEREATHERE… Down right nasty.

Very slow service and dirty restrooms about sums it up. We have been going to this location for several years and have noticed a study decline. I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon!

No no no no… This place has snowballed downhill in the past year. This was the second chance of second chances of eating at this location, and yet again it disappointed. Painfully incompetent service, way too many explanations of errors, and slow-motion action to correct said errors. I have seen better customer service at the airport TSA, and that’s saying a lot. I think Buca de Boo-Boo would be a much more appropriate name, because this place needs a major band-aid to get it back to its former quality.

Went for Mother’s Day yesterday, the service was ok. We were seated right away. The food didn’t taste good. Correction the chopped salad was good. The lasagna and meatball as well the chicken dish all lacked flavor. Everything was lacking salt. My entire party was disappointed. May not be eating here again.

We used to love this place… I used to get carry out all the time… they have changed there menu… bruschetta is terrible… haven’t been there since… back to basics guys… they said our new chef came out with it… look at the bright side. Many Italian restaurants in the area… we have not stopped eating or going out to eat, just not there…3 to 4 time a month at 45.00 to 70.00. Dollars, maybe u should rethink your menu and chef… and that was just there that we used to. spend…

Food is not great and way over priced! No surprise there was hardly a handful of people on a Fri night. Dessert are good but way too much money too. Interior decorating is very interesting, doesn’t even have the real parmesan cheese freshly grated. Papa vinos is so much better, in my opinion

Went for a retirement party. Had to wait 5 minutes past the time we were given to be able to have the room. It took a while for the appetizers to be brought out. Food was excellent. Well worth the wait! Absolutely loved the bruschetta. Chocolate cake was very dry, didn’t taste fresh at all.

Would give a negative 10 if I could! It is all about the customer experience and this experience was abysmal, at best! Beyond a concern. I am disgusted. I spent 69.91 for a carry out«curb side» order. FIRST, I had to go inside to get my order, when curb side delivery is advertised. I get home and the«garlic bread» that I had to pay EXTRA for was nothing more than soggy bread with oiled down and barely cooked. The pasta and ravioli was cold and by cold, I mean refrigerated cold. Same with the lemon chicken. Thank God I had balsamic glaze at home to deaden the pathetic Caprese. My family did not eat the $ 70 dinner that I ordered from your restaurant because it was disgusting. I don’t even expect a response because we stopped going to this Livonia location because of how bad it has been in the past and against my better judgement, I chose to order carryout from your Livonia, MI location tonight. We would have been better off eating McDonald’s. Just refund me my money. I do not want any apologies or come here again on us messages, if I even get those. Again, it is all about the customer experience and this experience! The experience was a nightmare, disgusting and appalling!

4 stars only because of the host/hostesses up front! This is my second time here, which was a bit better than the first. My first time here was on Valentine’s Day. Upon arriving we came across about a handful of clueless people just standing there and laughing amongst each other. I got told there was a 2 Hr wait at first, shockingly I looked around saying it’s not even that busy. As I said this to my boyfriend, another hostess comes out and says«it’s only a 30min wait.» wait what. I’m confused. How does it go from 2 hrs to 30mins. Anywho, we got seated at the bar at first and had drinks. I had the peach sangria which was alright– nothing special to order again. Boyfriend had a couple of beers. We were then seated @ our booth, our waitress could’ve been better @ explaining the menu, and even engaging in a convo w/us. Whatever, we didn’t care too much about it. We had the bread that comes out at first which was yum. Our calamari was amazing– my boyfriend really enjoyed the somewhat spicy marinara sauce that came w/it! As did I. And thennn our Baked Ziti came. And oh my gosh, was that something! The small plate was 19.99 $ & the calamari came out to 16 $. The small was enough for the both of us, and I even had some to take home. we finished the calamari within seconds, but you never want to overeat on appetizers so I think a small was perfect! So the food was excellent honestly, the service just could have been better. Now, onto last nights dinner @ this location(2nd time coming here.) it was Friday around 6pm when I called to place a reservation. Seeing how crowded they were on Vday– I didn’t want to wait as long as we did so I wanted to reserve a booth. I guess there’s a 2 Hr timeframe where you need to call in advance in order for them to take your number & name down, which I obviously didn’t. I had asked the girl on the phone if they get busy on Fridays around 8ish– she said no. So we just took our chances and came! As we arrived the parking lot looked FULL. So I’m thinking, great! We walk in & there’s nobody in the waiting room. GREAT. Lmao so we were seated fairly quickly and this time we didn’t get a tour of the kitchen like the first. Which was pretty cool!(If it’s your first time here, I think it’s pretty neat to walk thru!) our server was beyond amazing. Super sweet & came to our table every so often to catch up on us. I ended up spilling my water and he handled it very well. Brought me a new glass within seconds. He told us a couple of his favorite dishes when we were having trouble choosing what we wanted as well, which was nice.(Unlike waitress #1 ^!) we ended up getting the calamari & baked ziti again. Still. Amazing. We were looking at dessert but after seeing their cannoli’s were 12 $?! We passed. Not only that but we were super full! But next time I probably will try their dessert cuz they had a couple that sounded fantastic! Overall, my experience last night was better than the first! Service wise. The food was just as good. So, this definitely won’t be my last time @ bucca !

While this obviously isn’t highbrow dining or the most traditional Italian food, it’s usually solidly middle of the road and scratches the itch for pasta when needed. That being said we went in tonight because we had a Groupon to use, and felt like Italian food. As we walked in I noticed a funny gas-like smell, but I assumed since you walk through the kitchen that it may be coming from that area. Once we got through the kitchen and into a dining area the smell was just as bad, if not stronger. When I asked the hostess what the horrible smell was, she explained that they had their roof worked on today, and that part of it was re-tarred. Once she pinpointed what the smell was, it’s all I could smell in the restaurant. Not even the usual scent of garlic that is a hallmark of the place could overcome it. By the time she had us halfway into the dining room, I stopped and told her there was no way I could eat here. It honestly would’ve been like sitting next to a gas pump and trying to enjoy your dinner. The smell was that strong. She just looked at me and shrugged. All this to say, and the main reason I wrote this review, is to say that the restaurant shouldn’t have even opened back up until the smell had dissipated. Not only was it unpleasant, but I can’t imagine that it was good for the employees in the building, or the food being produced in the kitchen. Seems like an it responsible choice on the part of management and/or the owner.

I’ve been to other Buca di Beppo restaurants in the past and so I was prepared for massive portion sizes and so-so Italian food. This restaurant left a lot to be desired in terms of service. We came on a Sunday evening at 6pm, at which time there was no wait and the majority of the tables were empty. Despite this, the dishes ordered(Chicken Saltimbocca, Spicy Chicken Rigatoni, kids spaghetti and meatball, garlic bread) came out ~30−40 minutes after we ordered, and they all looked as if they have been sitting around for a while under a heat lamp. The rigatoni sitting on top of the bowl was dry and crusted, the meatball had a thick brown char on top, the chicken saltimbocca was dried out). The garlic bread didn’t even come out until we asked for it, and then it was luke warm when it did. I came in with tempered expectations, but the overall experience was nowhere near what a chain Italian restaurant should be. One thing to note: To sit down at a table, you have to walk through the kitchen into the dining rooms. Personally I don’t want to know that my food is being prepared within a few feet from any random diner walking into the restaurant.

Italian food is favorite kind of food so I judge harshly when I go to restaurants. I came here because I had a gift card and I have nothing to complain about when it comes to the flavor of the food. I keep coming back! It’s a family«papi’s basement» style that I like. The staff are very friendly. I get the ravioli. Watch for the spicy food, ask to go light on the chili peppers. I’ll be back again!

My wife and I shared a take out meal of Spagetti and Meatballs and a small salad. The price was outrageous considering the poor quality of food — $ 36.00. Three all beef dry meatballs and And cold spaghetti. $ 12 for a salad made with greens which were brown.

The wife and I went here for her cousin’s birthday/college graduation party. Walking up to the place, it looks like a typical Italian restaurant complete with Roman style sculptures out front. Once you enter, it is a bit less typical and a bit more eccentric. They take you from the front entry way through the kitchen to get to the dining rooms. The interior of the restaurant is designed to resemble someone’s home with multiple rooms. That way private parties can each have separate dining rooms. However, it can be a bit confusing and maze-like to find the restrooms through all of the hallways, dining rooms and bar. The walls are lined with photos to further the impression that you’re in someone’s home. However, some of the pictures can be a bit distracting – child picking his nose, butt cracks, full rear nudity and the like. Some of the pictures are charming. Others are a bit odd. For a gathering the size of our party, the food was served family style. You get bread with olive oil to dip it in. You get fried, breaded cheese triangles. Both are good. You get fried calamari which has a nice tempura like breading, but the calamari was a bit overdone and chewy. The rigatoni with shrimp and fra diavolo sauce was good. The sauce was a bit thin, but it had a nice heat to it. The salads were nice, because unlike some places they didn’t use cheap iceberg lettuce. That meant that I could eat it, because my lactose intolerance prevents me from eating iceberg lettuce. The salmon was nicely seasoned and fork tender. The chicken was also nicely seasoned. Then, there was the dessert. The cheesecake was creamy and delicious. The pictures in the restrooms were the weirdest that I have ever seen in a restaurant. They had pictures of full nudes duplicating the poses of Roman sculptures. They had pictures of people urinating. The place was charming and weird, but my wife and I would go back to eat again, because the food was good.

Nice Italian chain. I had a gift card so the meal was free for me but I thought it was a bit pricey for what it is. Really great service! The waitress was informed of an allergy at the table and went above and beyond anywhere else to make sure said allergy was acknowledged by the kitchen staff and brought any possible issues to the table for consideration. The prosciutto stuffed chicken and the chicken carbonara were excellent! A nice visit here was had!

This is my first Unilocal review! Last night my husband and I ordered carryout and it couldn’t have been better. I felt the need to call the restaurant to say thank you! All of the packaging kept our food warm. The packaging was awesome for leftovers and easy to dispose of. Some places fill your garbage with bulky containers, not the case here. THEFOODWASDELICIOUS, as delicious as if we were dining in which invites me back. I have tried other restaurants carryout and decided there is no need to dine in because the Carryout was so terrible. Thank you Buca for a delicious, warm, perfectly packed carryout dinner. We will be back soon. Your chicken with lemon is my favorite!

I worked with Buca to organize a corporate event and they were beyond amazing to work with! They created a special menu for us that was within our budget and were extremely accommodating. The chef clearly makes things fresh and the day of and the staff is so friendly and helpful — I am so excited to see how wonderfully our dinner will turn out. Thank you to Buca for making this process quick, easy and successful! I would absolutely recommend Buca for such events! Ask for Angela Esquivel and she will be amazing and help you :)

This is a bit of a review for their«special event» hosting. Came here for my friend’s baby’s sex reveal dinner(that’s a mouthful!). It was a small group of her closest family and a few girlfriends who got together to find out if she was having a girl or a boy. We also ate a lot of carbs. My idea of a good time! We had a small private room in the back(this place is FULL of private rooms all configured in a maze-like way) with a massive round table that we all filled in around. It was the pope room so it was decorated with papal memorabilia and the centerpiece was a huge bust of Pope Francis. It was magical. We felt blessed. Actually, some people might think it creepy but we thought it hilarious. Book it for your next party! Aaaaannnnnnyway. The evening consisted of family style dishes like spaghetti with marinara, salads, bread, roast chicken and green beans. The table had a bit of a lazy susan in the middle so we could easily rotate all the plates throughout the group. Easy for taking seconds without making a scene, too. The food was good. I feel like anytime something is served up in a huge batch it can be hard to maintain quality control but they did a pretty good job. Everything tasted good and I definitely got my fill. It wasn’t the best Italian that I had but it got the job done and we had a lovely time. For dessert my pal had a cake that she cut into with the frosting inside indicating the sex of the baby. We brought the cake in from another another bakery but the staff at Buca was awesome about helping us serve it. In general the servers were fab. Very attentive to our giggly little group. I’m not sure I’d myself do a full on shower or something here but for smaller scale, casual celebrations where you want an easy night and some fast, filling food it gets the job done.

I was thoroughly satisfied with the experience I had at Buca di Beppo! I was not expecting such a delectable experience. First off, the restaurant is a maze with lots of turns and twists. I love the décor. There are a lot of interesting photos on the wall and the ceiling is covered with empty wine bottles. We(group of five) sat in the Gangster Booth, which was awesome! The service was good, not particularly friendly, but it was good. The real highlight was the food. We had mozzarella sticks(they were actually triangles) and the house bread for appetizers. The bread wasn’t anything special, but the marinara sauce with the mozzarella sticks was excellent. The cheese was perfect, not too hard or too stringy like some other places. For our main course we had chicken parmasean, baked ziti, and manicotti. The texture chicky chicky parm parm was very tender and the cheese on top was sweet and perfect. The highlight of the meal was the manicotti. The mixture of cheeses stuffed inside was just so delicious and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce on both the manicotti and chicken parmasean was sweet and delicious. The baked ziti, however, left something to be desired. Some of the pasta seemed like it was not cooked long enough and was a little hard. I was really let down by the state of the facilities. The(men’s) bathroom was pretty bad, which was especially disappointing considering how clean and beautiful the rest of the restaurant is. Overall this place is great, I love the family style eating. In our group of five, we had one vegetarian and two picky eaters, but we still managed to all thoroughly enjoy the food. I highly recommend this place!
