SORRY to have to say, my first visit will be my last. The one star is for Lucio, he was very nice and came over to us while we were waiting. My future daughter-in-law took me to Lucio’s for a hair trial for her up coming wedding. When I called i first asked, who will be doing my hair and how much will she charge for a fancy ponytail. Got there and was told to go to one station but at the last minute asked me to change seats. There was a steady customer who came in after me and wanted to get her hair done so they moved me. So i was put with this woman who seemed annoyed she had to take me. I showed her a photo of what i was thinking of but she hardly looked and just put my hair up in a pony tail, nothing fancy about it. Whatever! So i went to pay and was charged 20 dollars more because the lady i was put with at the last minute was a higher level!!! Also, they only have one make-up artist and to get an appointment with her you have to call her cell. It is very annoying that the salon can’t do it for you. We went back and forth with calls before we had an appointment. The woman is very nice but not up to speed with the new styles. Especially the eyes. For the price i was charged I was very disappointed.

This is a salon where the client have long term relationships with the stylists and the manicurists. Maria does the most amazing pedicure. She was trained in Russia where they train under a Podiatrist. Your feet loose pounds after she treats them. Catherine’s coloring is top notch and she really uses the best stuff on your hair. Lou, the owner, is a sweet man. He’s starting to renovate the salon big time so the«Livingston» clientele should be happy. Personally, I like the low key feel of this place.

Lou has been my hairdresser for a long time. I go to him because he always give me a great haircut. He knows what I like and what looks good on me. Its hard to find a great hairstylist nowadays that’s why I always come back here!

I went to Catherine for a while to get my hair highlighted and she does do a great job with blondes. I always received compliments whenever Catherine colored my hair. I stopped coming here because Catherine took a break for reasons which I do not fault her for. Now that she is back I have decided not to return. The main reasons I do not enjoy coming here are that the clientele is very catty and rude. This is not an upscale salon. In fact the salon itself is run down and in need of major updating yet the clientele acts as if they are on 5th ave. When I come to relax I do not want to be surrounded by gossiping older women throwing jabs at one another. Additionally the staff is quite rude and catty with one another and I don’t find any humor when people are picking on someone while doing my hair. And if someone expects me to laugh or join in with them then they are sadly mistaken. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Pros: Affordable, good color Cons: Catherine works limited days, run down, see above Overall Catherine is affordable and does good color. So if you can deal with catty BS and a run down shop then this would be a good option for you. If you want a more upscale and nicer environment with more professional employees and kinder clientele I would go elsewhere.

This is a small mom and pop place not fancy at all. It is not the type of salon I am use to but, the people were really friendly and I needed to be waxed. I was so pleasantly surprised with the job the lady waxed me did. It was the best waxing experience I have had. You could tell she knew what she was doing. She took her time and was meticulous. Definitely a great find.
