Be very careful here. They are thieves. They bill your credit card for amounts that are different than the receipt. I have asked them to fix and they have been dragging their feet for more than 2 months. I have the receipt & I have the credit card bill. They still refuse to fix. Don’t eat here.

Superb! Everything was absolutely amazing from the drinks to dessert. Food was the best Greek food I’ve ever had. I have no recommendations because every single item on the menu is fantastic.

Awesome service. We let them know we had a tight schedule and they served us in exactly the time frame we gave them. I’m coming back for that lunch prix fixe: an assortment of olives and bread to start, then spanakopita, moussaka and baklava Ps. I’ve been back several times, and it’s consistent :)

I was here for a rehearsal dinner and the food was amazing! I have had Greek food only once before. The first time I did, was from a place in the Livingston Town Center. I wasn’t a fan, the food was greasy and«blah». This was not the case at Lithos. The interior décor was really nice and the food was very yummy! I highly recommend the braised short ribs! Yum! I will be back.

I hadn’t been here since this place was Merrigan’s and boy what a change! The décor is really beautiful, especially the brick wall to the ceiling. The old place looks great! I always love Greek food so I was anxious to see how this place was. It was excellent! The lunch menu had so many good choices. I went with the price fixe lunch which was really a bargain. As an appetizer, I had the spanakopita, which is a must at a Greek restaurant. My entrée was the vegetable wrap, then baklava for dessert. Everything was delicious! I’ll definitely be back and will remember this place for future business lunches as well!

This was my first time here although I had been meaning to get to Lithos since they opened! I wasn’t disappointed. The staff was warm and friendly and the menu was very nice. There’s something for everyone here. Our server recommended the fried eggplant and zucchini chips and boy were we glad we listened to him! They were delicate and delicious! The tzatziki sauce was amazing. I ordered the lamb chops which were perfectly cooked. The accompanying lemon potatoes were on point. The general manager, Stephanie stopped by our table to check on us and she couldn’t have been nicer. What a great place! We’ll definitely be back!

I can honestly say I expected a little more from this restaurant. I made a reservation on a Tuesday for my fathers birthday and specifically asked for the booth seating where we could all be comfortable(considering it was a Tuesday) I did not think it’d be a problem. Upon entry we realized they gave us a round table at the end of the restaurant and no booth was given. I Approached one of the hostesses who got the manager and they told us the booth is for only 5 people and they cannot seat us there(my fiancé has sat there with 6 people numerous times in the past, and nobody was sitting in any of those booths, once again, the restaurant was empty until 11PM when we left. Regardless, I am not one to let the location or table ruin my dinner to celebrate a nice occasion, but this was simply nonsensical and came off as rude. We were also told other tables were reserved(nobody ever came to any other tables.) I guess we just were not important enough. On to the food. The menu was pretty good, the food was unfortunately just nothing impressive, the ambiance was beautiful I must say but the food did not match. We asked for hummus spread and cucumbers/tomatoes on the side, the server explained they dont do that, but they COULD potentially do cucumbers and carrots but not tomatoes. Um — OK??? Once again tomatoes and cucumbers are an essential part of any Mediterranean spread, whats the big deal to cut some tomatoes? The Saganaki typically comes under flame, it did not come under flame and was less than impressive. The pasta dish I got with seafood was pretty good, and the pasta seemed to be home made, it was good. My fiancé got sea bass and also enjoyed it. The Osso Bucco was OK, nothing extraordinary. All in all this is a beautiful place, and I have a feeling we were honestly there on an off night where management was not on top of their game, and maybe the head chef was not working. I have heard really good things about this restaurant so I presume in the not so near future I would be going back to check it out on a Saturday or what not. I feel like it could do better. I will gladly update my review at that point in time if the overall experience improves.

We had such high expectations and were really looking forward to this. We walked away from this experience as if we were all witnessing an attempt of «playing restaurant» Drinks at the bar took 15 minutes when there were only four people seated. Appetizers took well over an hour. Mains dishes were all over cooked and had the consistency of rubber bands. Lastly we topped of this evening but being charged for nearly triple the drinks we had ordered. Even after very politely speaking with one of the many managers who were obsessively walking the floor rearranging the napkins of the empty tables they offered no free desert or a % off our bill. Going out to dinner is considered a treat for us and we will never be coming back

Went to Lithos for the first time for my wife and our good friend’s 40th birthday dinners(so four of us — 2 couples). While the food was OK, the service was very poor. Honestly it wasn’t the wait staff’s fault — they obviously had too many tables and not enough waiters for a busy Saturday night. We noticed other tables were unhappy too. We didn’t receive our apps until we were sitting for over a hour. We were also overcharged for drinks, which they fixed on the bill. It’s a shame because the ambiance is nice, the food was not bad(not great either) but they need to step up their game on a busy Saturday night. There are too many better restaurants in Northern NJ to bother going back here.

Lithos is the reason I don’t always write a review on the first date. My first time here was a disaster. I ordered Chilean sea bass which came frozen in the middle. The second one they brought out was exactly the same. We left and the check full of apps and drinks was handled by the restaurant. Given that they were somewhat new to the area, I decided to give it another try. And another. And another… Lithos is literally one of the best restaurants in Livingston for a variety of reasons. Their service is great — from the bar to the host to the servers. They have an amazing bar that is so warm and cozy and inviting, full of wines, beers and specialty cocktails(try the lemon ginger martini or berry gin cocktail). I could sit here all day. They even have an outdoor space behind the bar which I can’t wait to check out in the warmer months. The food is really good too. While I enjoy their entrees, particularly the ionian kakavia(clams, mussels, lobster, scallops in a fish broth pasta), their appetizers are just as good. So good, we have made full meals out of them. They make some of the best tzatzkai, delicious mussels and clams, and fresh lobster salad. There’s a lot to choose from, both entrée and app wise whether you are a sea, land or veggie lover. The atmosphere here is really fantastic. Warm fireplaces, clean white linens and a fresh fish bar right in front. They accept OpenTable reservations and have valet parking. Definitely perfect for date night or special occasion meal.

I went to Lithos for a work luncheon and was surprised with the big space and seating areas in the restaurant. The service was good and the people were nice. The spanakopita tasted good but it was a little greasy when I got it. The olive and hummus dip was really good with the pitas they serve and the calamari was tender and light. I chose the chicken souvlaki and was pleased with my selection. The chicken was tender and not dry. Since I ordered from the pre fixe menu it also came with a dessert. The baklava had great flavor but it was also very heavy. I would come back to try the other menu items. maybe the lighter fare.

Was here for a private party. On the outside, it looks small, but inside there is a big dining room and a private room with a wine cellar downstairs. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our party. The food was outstanding. I really enjoyed the lamb and orzo. Their hummus was amazing. I also loved the baklava. There is valet parking, but when we arrived, it wasn’t set up yet. Just be prepared for that. I plan to come back here to have dinner in their main dining area.

Nice atmosphere and REALLY great wait staff… but the food was really lacking in flavor. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers to start and they were great. Meatballs, fried calamari, hummus, and spanakopita were all really fresh and very flavorful. However, our entrees left us sad and hungry. I ordered grilled salmon on a bed of spanakorizo. My salmon was severely lacking in flavor. Others in my party ordered different seafood platters, all of which were just okay. I have to say, for the price, our entrees should have tasted waaaaaaayyyyy better.

This by far is the best restaurant experience I have had in quite some time! The food is incredible, atmosphere great, wait staff professional, knowledgable and not in a rush! Eli was our waiter one of the best servers we had experienced in a very long time. I eat out for lunch quite a bit during summer months with my daughter and at least 1−2/wk takeout as well. To finally feel comfortable while eating out does not say much for other establishments; to have food and service impeccable! There is also a full service bar. Although it is on the pricer side, well worth! I once remember Arthur Schwartz the legendary food critic saying«if the service is poor and the food is adequate, why bother going out? Might as well stay home & cook»! Mr. Schwartz was so right, you want the overall experience to be a really good one! Congratulations to the owners, Chris & Mike for achieving overall excellence!

Pretty disappointed with Lithos. Came here last night for dinner with my date. The service: Very good. Our waiter was super nice and very attentive without being annoying. The drinks: Dear God… my date ordered the«Sojarita» which tasted pretty crappy– like seltzer with a teaspoon of liquor– no flavor. I ordered the«Fig Martini» …it tasted like NyQuil. BELH. He actually sent his back and ordered a beer instead. I didn’t have the heart to send mine back as well so I just stuck with it and finished half. The appetizers: We ordered the«cheese assortment theory» which was described as four cheeses with«roasted fig jam, toasted almonds, and pita straws.» We got cheese &3 pita straws with a raw fig cut in half, a handful of raw, non toasted walnuts, a couple of grapes, and raisins!!! whats up with that??? We also ordered the grilled octopus which was actually cooked well and tasted delicious. No disappointment with that one. The Main: My date ordered the lamb chops, which were cooked perfect and tasted delicious. I ordered the soft shell crab special. Not good. Their shell was crunchy and not appetizing and the flavor was just overly salty and gross. I could only manage a few bites of it. Dessert: Of course, we ordered the baklava. It was very tasty. However, I personally like authentic turkish baklava as its made with only pistachios and serbet instead of walnuts and honey. BUT, if you like Greek baklava, this one definitely meets the expectation. So all in all this place was a disappointment. Unfortunately I will not be returning any time soon, nor will I be recommending it. :/

I LOVE it here. Can I say it again? I REALLY love it here. We came here for date night and returned every week for 3 weeks because we couldn’t stop talking about it. The food: I cannot say enough about the food. The octopus appetizer was delicious. Lobster souvlaki also got an A+. The calamari comes spicy(you have to ask for it specifically) and they will toss it with hot peppers after it comes out of the frier. And the fried zucchini/eggplant app was also nice. It comes in a cone and the ones on the bottom tend to get a little soggy but otherwise the flavors are good. And the avgolemeno! It doesn’t come in a cup, only a bowl but you have to get it anyway because you won’t want to stop at just a little bit. Most of the main dishes we have had were also excellent. The exception was the langustine special. They have you 3 large langustines cut crosswise and grilled but they just became dried out and you ended up with no meat and just a langustine-flavored goo in the shell. I think they don’t have this special anymore. Anyway, their menu is extensive and I could go on and on. The service: Spot on. I wouldn’t say it is exactly like the Michelin star restaurants of NYC but they try to be close. Your server will clear the necessary plates when you are finished, re-set the table, and clear crumbs away after the bread. They are all very unobtrusive and as far as I can tell, work well in concert with each other. None of the main dishes come out too early(super pet peeve of mine) and you always get your drink before the bread/appetizers come. The ambience: Dim lit without being too«cigars and steaks» in the decorations. The background music stays where it should — in the background. I hate when the music played in restaurants is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, much less carry a conversation with your dinner mates. Bottom line: GO! Go to this restaurant already! PS: Order the Xinomavro wine. Yummy!

Love Lithos but I do have a couple of small concerns. First of all, they made me what was absolutely the worst Bloody Mary I have ever had. I actually sent it back which was a first for me. Also, you should be mindful of what you’re ordering. A friend of mine ordered a piece of sea bass the other night and it was $ 58. I think that’s ridiculous. Now that I’ve gotten those things off my shoulders, on to the good. This is a stunning restaurant. Visually striking and spacious. The layout is quite nice with a comfortable bar area and plenty of room for dining. A word of caution, however, is that you should have a reservation if going there on a weekend. Waits can be long and finding a seat at their bar can be tedious if not impossible. Many people opt to simply order their meals at the bar so there isn’t much turnover in seating. Love the fresh fish bar where you can see exactly what it is you’ll be ordering from its pristine state, to weigh in and onto the kitchen. It’s particularly nice for a large party where you can order a variety of fishes and share them amongst yourselves. Their food is delicious as are their drinks(Bloody Mary excluded, of course). Service is extremely professional. Lithos has become part of my regular Livingston area rotation along with The Strip House and McLoones. Of the three, their food is the best. You really can’t go wrong but again, make sure you have a reservation.

Wonderful! Fantastic! Incredible! I could go on and on. Great food, great service! Fresh seafood is laid out on ice for viewing. Probably the best grilled octopus I ever had. I’ve had it as an appetizer and over a salad. Both were superb!

Oh Lithos… how is it that it took us nearly two years to get here?! Let me first preface by saying that greek seafood specialists like Milos, Molyvos and Avra in the city are some of my absolute favorite places to dine. And how I yearned for something just half as good in suburbia. Despite its odd location on Eisenhower Parkway pretty much in the middle of nowhere, this destination is well worth the sacrifice if you’re accustomed to eating in the more mainstream and nearby dining scenes in Montclair, Summit and Millburn. There is certainly nothing like it for miles and miles. In Lithos, not only do you have a quasi-NYC quality fish place but the atmosphere and service really transport you out of the same olé same olé NJ restaurant scene. While the display of fish on ice is not quite as expansive as it is in some of the city joints, the array certainly is pretty to look and will really entice you while you enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine at the bar. We had the coolest bartender who let us taste not only each glass of wine we ordered, but also the small craft batches of vodka and gin for our martinis. Service really does shine here both at the bar and in the large cathedral ceiling dining areas. The assorted spreads, grilled calamari and prawn appetizers were delicious. Between the four of us, we enjoyed the sea bass, lavraki and royal Dorado and the more typical grilled salmon. The Horta that accompanies the fish(which is grilled and served with lemon and olive oil) is perfectly garlicky and so yummy. We also had a side of grilled asparagus. The fish was just spectacular and the seasoning and textures were perfect. Too full for dessert… the portions are generous to share and share we did. Everything from appetizers to entrees and aide, we were able to taste so many dishes. So many of the wines are Greek and quite good. But if you’re particular about another region there is certainly enough to choose from. Don’t be shocked by the prices which, in my mind, are fair given the quality of food and experience. Will definitely be back here soon.
