I lived in Liverpool for an entire year, but almost missed out on Appethaizing — with such a gimmicky name, I assumed the food would be cheap fast-food quality. I decided to eat there on one of my last nights in the area, but only because my kitchen was already packed up and I was desperate. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the food rivaled that of my favorite Thai restaurant in Philadelphia — and now I deeply regret not having this place on speed dial during my year up north. The tom yum soup and pad kee mow were especially tasty. As my husband later summed it up — «Appethaizing — accurate name; would eat there again!» My only complaint was the pacing of the meal. We visited at an off-time, and were the only couple in the restaurant — and without other customers to attend to, the waitress(and kitchen) moved at lightening speed. The waitress brought out our soup and salad(included with our entrées) out together, at the same time as the chicken satay we had ordered as an appetizer. The chicken started getting cold as I rushed to eat my soup — and the instant I was ready to start eating the chicken, my entrée appeared! I didn’t get a chance to fully appreciate any one course because I felt so rushed — our entire dining experience(from the time we sat down to the time we walked out the door) was over in less than 40 minutes!

The food is decent. I’ve had better Thai food though. The waitress is not very friendly. She walks away as you are talking to her and answers you without turning around. She doesn’t set the food directly in front of you but rather on the corner of the table so that you have to reach over and grab your food. No refills on water offered even though the food was spicy. To top it off, she placed the bill on our table when we weren’t even done with our meal. She never even bothered to ask us if we wanted dessert. We were contemplating it too. But then decided not to bother. We had delicious dessert elsewhere.

Not the most friendly place. I had the Green Curry and it was decent and came with a small salad(lettuce and onions). Spicy enough but it was lacking vegetables and the beef was a bot rubbery. Itwas pick up. I did not eat in. Easy parking.

AppaThaizing, is anything but… amazing! I won’t say is was bad Thai food, but I can say that all of the other Thai I’ve had in my life… was better. Ordered drunken noodle with chicken, and chicken satay. Satay was fine, maybe a little on the dry side. Peanut sauce was good. Drunken noodles were below average. Noodles were stuck together in clumps and a bit«crunchy» from being under cooked. Three slivers of red pepper, and 3 small pieces of broccoli tagged along. Bok Choy was tough and chewy, as were the basil«stems». Not sure why white meat chicken should be so «gristly». This is the first time I’ve ever had to salt Thai food to bring out some flavor! I’m guessing… no, hoping… that there’s better Thai food somewhere in Central New York.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. It has a great variety of dishes and are very accommodating to your preferences. You can have your meal mild, medium, or hot(spicy wise). The waitstaff is so friendly and very attentive to your needs. My favorites are the Pad Thai, Fried Rice, Prig Prow, and Green Curry. I love spicy, and they have the perfect balance of seasonings. The curry is warming, especially in the cold of winter. I recommend this place to anyone! Yum!

I was skeptical the first time we came here, being a big Bangkok Thai fan. I imagined nothing that could top the great«Rock and Roll» atmosphere and quality of Bangkok. And, to be honest, appeThaizing doesn’t top it. But it’s a very, very close second. My favorite dishes include the Pad Thai with tofu(hold the egg!) and the Pad Prig Prow with chicken. Everything always tastes fresh and comes to the table well-assembled. Their medium spiciness is pretty warm, so don’t go overboard thinking you need the hottest level. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Always very clean. It has most often been quiet when we’ve gone, so I’m not sure what the room would be like when full. We’ve always had great service. Sitting outside on the patio is nice, too. By far the highlight of appeThaizing – and the one thing that DOES top Bangkok – is their banana fritters: chunks of banana coated in coconut shavings and deep fried. Out of this world. Even if I went to dinner elsewhere, I would in a heartbeat stop at appeThaizing for dessert. Delicious.

Thumbs up, all around! My friends and I had been CRAVING Thai food, and we have been to a few of the other Thai restaurants in Syracuse, so decided to try this one in Liverpool that we’d never been to. The location was easy to get to, right on the parkway, and the place itself is decorated so modern with an unbelievably cute vibe. The service was outstanding! Our waitress, Malisa, was a sweetheart. She was friendly, very informative, and most importantly, patient! Not to mention the food was outstanding! We had the appethaizing shrimp and egg rolls to start, then Pad Thai, Curry, and Duck entrees — with plenty of leftovers to bring home. Safe to say, we can’t wait to come back. My one request? Let’s see some Mango Sticky Rice!!!

I love this place, I come about once a week. Their Pad Thai is delicious and so is the Appethaizing shrimp. My only gripe is that I frequently dine alone being a relatively independent single lady and sometimes the wait staff is awkward about that. Now that I’ve been there a couple of times they seem to be used to me and they’ve become less awkward about me dining alone. Otherwise, come! It’s a perfect date night stop, quick drive by for take out, or a solitary stop for a glass of wine and Thai food.

Stopped here on way home, via thruway, and looked to Unilocal for restaurant recommendations in an unfamiliar place. Very pleased with our meals and we had wonderful service-even with our toddler!

Just finished dinner here with my parents and boy are our tummies satisfied! Right as we entered we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly and patient with taking our orders; my parents wanted to try something new and took their sweet time figuring out what to get. We ordered the chicken satay for an appetizer, and for dinner: shrimp pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, and gratiem prig Thai. Honestly, everything came out perfect. The food was nothing short of delicious and it came out pretty quick too. The portions were just right. It made us full but not TOO full. It was a nice night to come in; there wasn’t too many people. The only thing is that this was my third time stopping by. The first two times they were just closing. Hours are pretty short but it’s not worth losing a star over. Definitely give this place a go. You won’t be disappointed!

When I came to Appethaizing, the place was disappointingly closed and wouldn’t open for another half hour. While debating if the wait was worth it or not, one of the servers happily opened the restaurant early for us :). When I first entered, the place didn’t look much like a Thai restaurant at all. The inside and outside looks pretty modern and has it’s own style which is pretty unique. After receiving our complementary salads with peanut sauce(which were great), we received our pad thai dishes. My god were these delicious. I don’t know what the chef did, but it tastes a lot better than the traditional pad thai I’ve had. I honestly thought I could finish it all but the portion size is a lot larger than you would think. The only problem I had was that I expected the food to be a lot spicier seeing as it is a Thai restaurant. Other than that, the food I had was amazing and the service was fantastic. Combining modern and traditional appeal makes Appethaizing a must eat restaurant.

I’m a fan of the appeThaizing restaurants in Syracuse. I have been to two of the three locations and the food is always good. I ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and the Beef Thai Salad. Both were very good, albeit, I think I like the Clay location better. Nice setting near the water.

Nice atmosphere and really great service. We have certain dietary requirements that the chef was more than happy to accommodate. Wonderful flavors, fresh vegetables really set off each dish. Just a side note. I can’t stand it when other reviewers complain about the price of the meal and then plug another cheaper joint. One word of advice; The gum on your shoe might be free, but that doesn’t mean you should chew it. Seriously.

We visited appeThaizing for dinner on a chilly Friday night. The place was pretty much empty so we had our pick of tables. They have a nice gas fireplace so it was pretty warm and cozy. If you’ve read my other reviews you will know that I tend to judge all Thai restaurants by their green curry with pork(always pork, nothing else is as good) so I decided to try it here. The«medium» was hot enough that it made me glad I hadn’t chosen«hot». It was very flavorful with a nice portion of rice on the side. It comes with a small salad with really good peanut dressing. We also split the egg roll which was ok but definitely nothing to write home about. We’d really liked the location up on the hill but have not gone there often as parking is always such a pain so it’s nice to know we have a good alternative in Liverpool.

Ordered take out this afternoon. First time at Appethaizing. I had the Pad keemow. It was very very good. The place was renovated very beautifully as well. Look forward to coming back for dinner. It cost me about $ 9.50 for lunch. A little disappointed with the serving size. Can not afford to spend $ 10.00 for take out weekly so this will only be a once in awhile lunch spot. You can get the best Chinese in Syracuse at Kings Chef in Liverpool and their lunch specials run about $ 5.00.
