As this was my 1st time to visit a vineyard and do any type of wine tasting. I was very impressed with Joe in public wine tasting area, Joe was knowledgeable on the wines and very nice, l. One reason we chose this winery was for the tour, which was cancelled due to a release party, which i was disappointed. Joe was aware that I was green to the wine process and let us take a peak in the barrel room and explained the process and answered all my naïve questions. So a BIG thank you to you Joe.

This weekend decided to take our guests to wineries in Livermore. One of them was Wente tasting room. We opted for the more expensive flight for wine tasting, thinking the quality of wines will be better. I cannot fathom why a winery would take out their worst wines for serving specially when you want the guests to buy a bottle or two. Or maybe they were their best wines or there was something wrong with our taste buds. The pro was the beautiful drive and the scenery. Seems like an over rated vineyard. The older gentleman who was serving the wines was doing his job but he and the other employees were completely disengaged. The tasting room itself is very small and narrow. A big part of wine tasting is the people serving wine behind the counter. They can make or break the experience. We went back thinking this was not an enjoyable tasting, and we will not be coming back. Cannot recommend this place.

Wine tasting… in Livermore? I guess I was completely out of the loop on this one. This was the first winery we went to on a wino day. Was really impressed and it was very hard to top. The scenery was gorgeous amongst some lushious green rolling hills. Fantastic prices for great pours. Wound up grabbing a bottle of their GSM because it was simple amazing. The staff was super friendly and accomodating. Would absolutely love to go back and look forward to it.

I give 5 stars for Wente’s 2008 brut sparkling wine, sipped at the Grill next to the golf course while enjoying a cheeseburger. Unfortunately, I find their sparkling wines in the later years to not be as good. Their red wines are okay, yet their pricing reaches heights of some better Napa wines. Make sure you go to the tasting room at the winery, not the tasting«facility» on Tesla Rd(an ill-conceived people pen; the designer of the Tesla facility should be sentenced to spending 20 weekends there per year).

We decided to do our first tasting at Wente in Livermore, since we are members at a sister winery(Murietta’s Well, also in Livermore). Murietta’s Well is closed for renovations, so they are directing members for Spring 2016 straight to Wente, where they will match your benefits(free tastings and discounts). Wente is of the biggest names in Livermore. The grounds here are beautiful, even so on the frigid day we decided to visit. Can I just say how impressed I am with this place? I had a feeling the wines would be good, or at least the reds(I am a red wine gal). But, hello! The whites were a pleasant surprise as well. They really knocked my socks off. We literally didn’t have a wine we didn’t like in the tasting room, and the staff was very, very friendly and knowledgeable. I am not sure if they were especially nice to us because of our membership status at MW or not. But once we whipped out the card and ID, they bent over backwards to make us happy. Our tasting room server even walked us over to the Winemaker’s Studio(on the same property) where we were given the 1st class treatment as well. Here, they have wines on tap… and quite a selection if I must say so. We also loved everything here we tasted as well. Very knowledgeable staff… witty and friendly. I think the«cream of the crop» are hand selected to work in this room(or so at least we were told). I really like it here and plan to come back. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the wonderful wines we tasted.

I love Wente. Even though I grew up in Sonoma I never really went wine tasting until I moved to the east bay and Wente is one of my favorites. They have many properties but the tasting room area is very nice to visit. Great outdoor space plus they have events during the summer months. Would recommend to anyone!

Traffic to Napa was congested so we made a detour to Wente vineyards NYE. Unfortunately, they closed at 3:00 pm and the restaurant was closed, needless to say it was a good time. Wente is next to a golf course with wonderful grounds for music festivals during the summer. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne for the NY, which was fantastic. It is their exclusive for weddings and events, $ 30 for non-members per bottle and not in any sampling. I would highly recommend. Cheers!

Just had a wonderful wine tasting experience at Wente. I am in the wine business, and appreciate that person that takes the time and has the passion for wine and people to ensure a wonderful experience for the consumer. Kevin, the retired cop was that person for us. You rock! Thank you…

Wow came to this winery last year to taste and had a great experience! Today; not so good. Everyone had to pay up front to taste. I have been to hundreds of tasting rooms and NEVER have paid up front. Our server, Bill was extremely slow and had to ask us for each pour what we were supposed to be tasting next. He continually got side tracked. The tasting room needs to work on their tasting system. More than one person should be able to serve each party; ESPECIALLY if everyone pays up front. Thumbs down to this place. Good wine but the tasting experience was not the best.

Love the grounds and environment Wente offers. The tasting room has a great environment, the Nth degree lounge is even better. Wente has a fabulous concert series in the summer and is just all around fabulous! Love relaxing with a glass of wine in the Nth degree lounge. Love this place.

Came here after the 34th Annual Harvest Wine Celebration, they were honoring wristbands of the Harvest Wine Celebration. Lisa assisted me, she was friendly and very informative! The 2013 Morning Fog Chardonnay was my favorite. The band Silent Partner was excellent!!! A nice way to spend a Labor Day

This was by far my favorite winery in the Livermore valley. They have 2 different locations and this one is just for wine tasting(at least 3 different tastings). Once you came in there was live music and a free glass of Chardonnay(who can say no to that). You can also bring your own lunch since the restaurant is located on their other Golf property. My favorite tasting room was the Winemakers Studio, which featured a lot of mixed wines(more expensive) that you don’t find very often at the vineyards. They also have great membership options with different parties, events, and lots of wine!

Fabulous place for a picnic, one of those where you bring that rustic basket with the checkers mantel cloth in it, porcelain dishes and silver cutlery so you can have a chic afternoon bottle of wine in hand, bread and cheese(and some Californian olive oil you can always get at the tasting room). Looks like there are concerts scheduled for all the summer, which is a great idea as the locale is excellent. Attractive building, set up, easy to get a parking spot and perfect scenery for weddings(my friend and I had the opportunity to see the reception of a traditional Japanese wedding, nice surprise).

Have been here twice and loved the place! Besides the fabulous wine, they have a lovely outdoor area that is perfect for a picnic and some live music on the weekends! I also noticed a pizza truck the last time I was there. I have sampled both the tastings they offer and loved the Nth degree tasting. Will definitely be spending a couple of weekends there this summer!

First stop on a wine tasting day in Livermore. Beautiful grounds, very clean and open. We were greeted with a glass of wine by a friendly gentleman right as we entered. Then headed straight to the tasting room. Lots of bottles to check out in there, as well as a variety of merchandise and food items for purchase. I tried some of their mustards with the pretzel sticks they had out on a counter. We got the $ 15 tasting flight that had a few Nth Degree wines on it. A $ 10 list was also available. Nothing particular stuck out to me, but they were all pretty good. The staff was attentive and made sure to follow up with our next wine after we emptied our glasses. There was a cool little band playing out back that added to the chill atmosphere. Some kids and dogs roaming around too. Didn’t get a chance to check out any of the food.

Wente was my checkin spot for he barrel tasting began(seems one could have joined up at any of the participating wineries). i pulled a sharp right to enter Wente as the Wente front gate suddenly popped up into view. no pre-warning signs,(seems to the rule for almost all wineries) luckily, no tailgater was on my tai; event:LVBTW(3÷21÷15) barrel tastes: –cabernet sauvignonm pinot noir tasted«neutral» version and«new oak» version of both *neutral” smoother, «new oak» more tannin, harsher, more flavor notes. vine notes: –at some point, the neutral wines and new oak wines are mixed together and bottled. this dissuaded me from buying«futures» since the finished product is totally different from the barrel tasting. –barrel tasting room is different from the tasting room. 3.5 stars for the parking space and nice venue. couldn’t comment on the wines since i really didn’t taste any.

Estate Tasting — $ 5 — 5 from Vineyard selection. $ 10 from Small Lot Wine Collection Vineyard Tasting Room — $ 5 –5 from Vineyard Selection and Heritage Block estate grown wines. $ 10 — 5 from e Nth Degree and Small Lot wine collections One of the biggest names in Livermore the grounds here are beautiful with lot’s of Red’s on offer. I’m more partial to White’s than Red’s so it was no surprise that I wasn’t feeling most of the tastings here but I was really impressed with the friendly staff and how knowledgeable They often have Barrel tasting here, which is something I came for and also take part in the Barrel tasting weekend every year.

Our first stop for a day of wine tasting in Livermore. The major and only pro was that we were handed a glass of wine upon arrival. I don’t know if that is a regular occurrence or if it was because of the wineries release party which I will get to next. Cons — there was a wine release party the day we went to go tasting and they held it in the estate tasting room! So they did the tasting for guests in a cold, dank area where the barrels are kept. Honestly, upon stepping in I almost suggested we leave but after traveling there I didn’t want to. Another group did do just that after seeing the crappy space they put us in. If you have people visiting your winery for the first time, getting a first impression why you would stick them in a cold warehouse room is beyond me. Prices were the same for tasting. I inquired about a sparkling wine and was told they didn’t have it ‘out here’. The moveable counter our pourers were using started to tip over when they removed a shelf with glasses in it. We helped hold it afraid it would topple over. It was comical. If they are going to tie up the tasting room for a release party which they have often it would be nicer to have a tented/canopied area on the property then where we were at. Went straight to Ruby Hill which is always a delight and tasted wine, purchased, enjoyed food and enjoyed a consistent experience.
