Tasted like it is cooked in motor oil.
Mac and Cheese was oily and bland.
Brisket was way over cooked.
Baby back ribs were larger than most St Louis.
New name did not help the food quality.

Today we celebrated a co-​workers 20 year service anniversary. She wanted BBQ for her party for 15 people. Now we have a few BBQ places near our building but we wanted to support a local business and try somewhere we’ve not ordered from before. OMG what a huge success! First of all I talked with Justin from Schneids’ Smoke Shack and he was incredibly helpful and very clear and concise what we could get for what we could spend. We needed our food at 11:15 for pick up and it was ready on time.
As I’m eating my food I hear my peers talking about how juicy the brisket was, the hotlinks had the perfect taste, the pulled pork was cooked to perfection. The food was amazing. The sauces were amazing, we had original, hickory and spicy.
My 20 year anniversary is just around the corner and we’ve already decided that we’ll be ordering again from Schneids’ again or Hog Back as the name will be changing soon.

This is probably the best Bar-​B-​Que I have tasted in the state of Colorado! The spicy links had just the right amount of spice but also had a very good BBQ tangy flavor. The brisket just melted in my mouth that I did not even want to add any type of BBQ sauce on it. The pork was seasoned just right. I would DEFINITELY eat here or order from here again and will recommend to all my friends!!! Julian

Under new ownership and management. Food is solid and provides a great laid back BBQ. Try this place! Also they have some sweet catering options.

Tucked away in a little strip mall near platte park reservoir. A great place to get some stuff before or after your visit to Platte river, the reservoir, or chatfield. I got my food to go and ate it by the water. Quick service. I got the porker. I’m going to go porker eating all this delicious bbq but anyway. Smells delicious, looks delicious.. And… tastes delicious. The porker has a bit of spice with green chili and pepper jack cheese on Texas toast and the baked beans had true flavor and a slight spice. Give it a try

Food was great service was horrible. We were treated at the door and seated right away with menus. After ten minutes of reading the menus a guy came over and asked if we needed drinks. YES! He was friendly but obviously not supposed to be our waiter. He took the drink orders and came right back with drinks. After another ten minutes some girl showed up (pregnant and annoyed) and asked for our order. She seemed to hate her job and didn’t want to be there but begrudgingly took our order.
Literally forty minutes later we were still sitting there drinks empty and hungry. I got up to find her as she came out of the kitchen and asked if we could get some more drinks at our table. She came over and we gave her our drink order and she turned around and went to the guy and said «I can’t handle this» and disappeared. It was 4 bottles of beer and only three tables were occupied in the place! WHAT COULDN’T SHE HANDLE?
He came over being super friendly and brought our second drink in almost an hour.
Finally the food came out and it was great. The guy working was super friendly and seemed to be doing everything. The girl was the worst and couldn’t handle three tables. If I go back it will be call ahead order to go, if I go back.

We’ve been here twice. Once for an eat in and once for take out. The service on both occasions is well below average. The food is mediocre at best. The St Louis ribs were dry along with the pulled pork. The brisket was also average. Their sauce is actually good — but the meat just falls short. If you are from the South don’t get the cornbread — as a matter of fact I wouldn’t recommend anything. The green beans taste like they are from a can.
The food just didn’t seem fresh — on both occasions. The menu on their website is outdated (no prime rib special on Thursdays). Given the hundreds of BBQ places I’ve been to this would be in the bottom 10. Save your money.

Yesterday, we had a retirement party for my husband and served Schneid’s shredded pork, beef brisket, potato salad and baked beans. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by over 80 guests – many of whom asked where we got the food. Comments were: «The beans are delicious!» «The pork is nice and moist.» «Wow! That brisket is so good!» «Who made the potato salad?» Thank you, Schneid’s and Justin for making such a huge contribution to our party’s success!

Awesome hush puppies, incredible pulled pork and the best coleslaw I’ve ever had. My husband loved the hot links… definitely tasty. And friendly service! Definitely going back! Took us forever to find good BBQ in Littleton… finally found it!

I order to go 3 – 4 times a week. Great food at great prices! Can’t beat a full rack of baby back ribs and 2 sides for 20 bucks. The homemade ranch and blue cheese are amazing. Mac and cheese bites and baked beans are great. Staff does a great job everytime.

I was really in the mood for BBQ and figured I’d try here. Waitress was incredibly slow to come over to us and greet us, even after acknowledging us at the door and telling us to sit anywhere. Then they were having an issue with the thermostat. We were roasting and asked her to turn it down a little. Next thing we know it was like being in an ice box. Food was ok, but frankly nothing to write home about. It satisfied my urge for BBQ; however, I’m not sure I’ll go back again.

There were a lot of bad reviews, but we tried it anyway. Turns out, they’re under new management. YAY!
We ordered a rack of ribs, and some rib tips. When they couldn’t provide the tips, they gave us a free rack of ribs. Tender meat, amazing bbq sauce, and tasty baked beans. Glad they’re nearby.

I can’t believe all of the bad reviews I have been reading. I just a wonderful tasting set of smoked baby back ribs and a couple of sides and I spent just under $ 20. Maybe they were visiting from Cherry Creek (?) The workers are always wonderful to me!!!

Terrible food for the price. Bill was screwed up, we were overcharged and had to go back multiple times to get it corrected and were told it was a new machine. Everything looked and tasted like it was frozen or out of a can. Overall terrible experience and not worth the price!

Awesome BBQ. I buy their BBQ beef by the pound. The beans have a few different kinds of beans it them. If you make pizza at home, try their BBQ pork as a topping with some red onion. Friendly service, too.

We stopped here one afternoon when we had a lot of time to kill before an appointment. I got the Saint Louis ribs, which were pretty good. There was a lot of meat on the bones, so it was filling. I tried the sauces and didn’t have a favorite, although I liked them better after I mixed them together. The cornbread was cold and it didn’t seem like it was cooked all the way through. I had the bananas dessert to go, and the pieces seemed more like fried cheesecake, which I didn’t like. In all, I don’t think we’ll be back.

Service stunk, food stunk, my bbq pork sandwich tasted like boiled meat with bbq sauce on it. The wings we were told were smoked were not and were not good. I would be surprised if they stay in business another year.

Been here a few times and the food is good but way over priced for a sammich. The service was kinda off and the place just has a off vibe. If you live in the area its a good place to try but I would not go outta my way for it

I was really excited to try Schneid’s. My son and I were in the mood and decided to try it. I have driven by several times and smelled the BBQ cooking — one of my favorite food smells.
When we first walked in, we weren’t sure if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. The woman behind the cash register noticed us and told us we could choose a side. One side (right) seemed to be too air conditioned, while the other side (left) was warmer. We sat on the right as nobody else was sitting on this side.
After about 7 minutes, the same lady (I assume the owner) brought us our menus and told us that we could help ourselves to the fountain drinks on the other side. We made our decisions and were ready to order. I let her know we were ready, and she said she would be there as soon as she finished checking out the customer at the counter. That took a long time, long enough that another customer got in line. She began checking out the other customer next. Then she went into the kitchen and came back out to the counter. By that time, there was another person at the counter to pickup take out. She ran back into the kitchen to check on his order. A younger female (possibly a daughter) came out of the kitchen and sat at a table. She just sat, looking bored. Meanwhile the cashier/​server/​possible owner came back out of the kitchen and started ringing up the take-​out customer. Occassionally she would let us know that she would be right with us. It took at least 15 minutes before we got to order. She was nice and friendly during the process.
By the time the food got to the table, we were hungry and excited to try our ribs. My plate contained the fattiest «baby back» ribs I have ever tried. There was no sauce on them, as you are supposed to use the various sauces at the table. Since this was a smoke shack, I decided to try them without the sauce just to see how the meat tasted. It tasted fattier than it looked, but not much other flavor. I started blending the sauces to find a flavor that would make my ribs palatable, but even with that, I could not get them to taste good. My son, who loves ribs, did not like his either. He did love the chili cheese fries though. I had two sides: cole slaw and baked beans. The slaw was bland. The beans were strange. There were various types/​colors of beans, and they had a strong, sweet flavor — possibly some vinegar too. It wasn’t great, but the beans were better than the ribs and slaw.
Overall, I was disappointed with this restaurant, which was understaffed and certainly not of the quality I would have expected. I feel bad leaving a 2 star review, because our server was very nice and friendly, and I love supporting small local businesses, but this experience didn’t give me a choice. The worse part was that we had to pay $ 56 + tip to learn our lesson.

Good stuff! Took my girlfriend here. The place has terrible «curb appeal» but… its a little shack! The food came really quick! We shared ½ rack baby back ribs, beans, cole slaw and shush puppies. And had a beer as well. The rims were full of meat and the servings of the sides were good! We both got fat, felt good and had a beer for $ 21.00!!! Awesome!

As a chef I can tell you this is honestly one of the top Southern BBQ places in town. Not only are the staff friendly and very willing to accomodate special orders, but they have hands down the BEST Mac n Cheese bites in history as well as FRIED OKRA TO DIE FOR! As a Southerner, this is a religion and they hit the nail on the head every time.
