Well its been a while since I dealt with this company, but seeing these two poor reviews I figured I would put my two cents in. I am a fly fishing guide in Colorado, so my equipment is very important to me. I bought three fishing reels from Next Ascent. Two of them were crap, the drags completely slipping and letting my line free-spool. These are reels that I was going to use for client rods. So I obviously can’t do that. To their credit, I returned them and my PayPal account was refunded. I live near the owner so I was able to just drop them off at his house. BUT… now the third one? The drag is completely slipping on it. And this is a reel that was fished MAYBE5 times. So it’s not because of it being used extensively. It still looks brand new, but is a complete piece of junk. They are just crap reels. I will not be attempting a 4th reel from them. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because of the prompt refunds. I see others have not had such good customer service, but I can’t base my review on that. If I was only reviewing the product, it would be one star. I see they have an F rating with the BBB, and a «bad vendor» report on another website. So probably a company to just AVOID.

I placed an online order for several clothing items, all size small. The order came quickly, but one item was incorrect. They had sent me a large. I double-checked my order confirmation, and I did indeed order a small. I contacted the company the very next day through the«contact us» link on the website, which sent them an email. I received no response, so I began calling them. And calling them. They NEVER pick up, but you can leave a message. After about a week, I left a message. No response. So, I had to pay for shipping AND insurance(to be able to track the package in case they claim they didn’t get it) to send the item back as a straight return. Well, still haven’t heard from them. Next step: Disputing the charge on my credit card, since I never actually received one of the items that I ordered. What a mess. And oh, they have a Better Business Bureau rating of an F. Apparently this is common practice for them. They should be shut down.
