Links Golf Course-Highlands Ranch

Flew in Sunday late afternoon and decided to get some golf in. Course was only 10 mins away from where I was staying so I decided to check it out. Nice little executive course. Short par 4s and lots of par 3s — l played the front nine and I think the longest par 4 was just under 400 yds from the white tees. If you want longer I suppose you can just move back to the blues (but I’m a hacker so I stayed with whites). I played the front 9 and it was enjoyable. Helped that I was a one-​some with nobody behind me and only a two-​some in front who played efficiently. The course is pretty well maintained and there is some course character so it’s not like your typical muni. Very walkable. Golf shop front desk was very nice — two nice ladies helped me check in quickly so I could hop on just before the two-​some. Overall a pleasant experience — when I’m in town again, I will be back.

Okay, keep in mind that I’m a lousy golfer. On a par 72 course, I shoot somewhere north of 120.
That said, the Links is a course that’s pretty much my speed. There are no par 5s, and their par 4s aren’t very long. The last time I golfed there with my wife (who is similarly lousy as a golfer) we finished 9 holes comfortably in under 90 minutes.
If you’re a good golfer looking for a challenge, you probably won’t find it here. If you’re a lousy golfer or you just don’t want a long outing, I think you’ll like the Links. The course is well maintained, and I’ve always had a good time playing.

Overall it’s a nice executive course but I just really don’t like playing small courses. It was super busy when we went and it took a while to get a tee time. I think the price is almost $ 30 to walk which is quite expensive. The only scenery you get is looking at retired people sitting on their back patio. The course is in decent shape but for the money there are better deals to be had within 15 minutes. I would play here again if they lowered the prices but for that price I can play a full par 72 course.
