The food here is out of this world amazing!!! The potato ham and cheese soup is, the best I’ve ever had and the ham and Brie cheese sandwich, soooo yummy. The two times I’ve been there they’ve had to go next store to another business to make change for my bill, but it doesn’t even bother me cause the food is so good, and everyone is always nice. I can’t wait to go back

Food and service was great– The Big Dipper & Gulf Shores both delicious. Bread for both sandwiches were excellent. The Parmesan fries were perfect! My wife loved the slaw which had a Asian flair. I really enjoyed the Nutella donut for dessert. We are from out of town and wish this restaurant was in our city!

Came here with a friend for lunch and the hostess was very nice. Service was a bit slow but for dinner, service was great — thanks to Brandi! Farmer’s Chopped salad: greens, avocado, corn, bacon, tomatoes, goat cheese and sunflower seeds served with a creamy basil sauce — my favorite Homemade Chips & cheese dip: just ok & the pimento cheese sauce was spicy! I’d prefer the fries over the chips Artichoke & cheese dish: very filling so order if you’re hungry! It was pretty good. Pasta fromage: penne pasta, chicken, pancetta, sun dried tomatoes, and onions in a creamy white sauce — it was pretty good & not too heavy on the cream sauce(no onions and sun dried tomatoes) dish comes with a side Caesar or garden salad Kids meal: half cheese sandwich with fruit and milk — kids ate it up! Pimento cheese burger: angus beef, bacon(do you see the bacon theme) And no, we didn’t order all of this on one visit :) Overall, food and service was great. We will definitely be coming back!

I absolutely love this place! The artichoke cheese dip is amazing! And the Big Dipper sandwiches is great! I also really enjoy the Gulf Shores and the Gutshot! And you can not leave without a Cheddar donut! The Apple cobbler AL la mode is great too, tho I liked it better before they started cutting back on the crust so much, now it’s basically just apples with ice cream on top. The Loblolly Cheddar Cheese ice cream is to die for!

I went back to the main cheese and I did think this time it was much better. Took my daughter and her friend and they both got salads. They both really liked them both the salads were large and had lots of ingredients. They both took some home. I got a pasta special with a lemon vinaigrette and it was very good. Our service was good so I will probably go back some time. I did say last time I could take it or leave it, the food was much better but I probably spend my money somewhere else.

Very good artichoke dip. Had the main cheese and added tomato and avocado. Highly recommend it. Service was excellent too. This was my third time here… Twice for dinner and once for lunch. I had not really enjoyed my first two dinner experiences around when they first opened(i thought there was not much cheese to be called a grilled cheese). This experience so much better!

Really good first impression. Speedy service and the prime rib dip was wonderful. I had to take half of it home it was so big. I can’t wait to go back and try another sandwich!

It was good. Staff was friendly. Restaurant is really clean. It’s always nice to find a restaurant with gluten free bread options. I got a grilled zucchini with gruyère and pesto sandwich. So, so good. The only downside was the bill. I’m not sure I’d spend 35.00 plus tip again for two grilled cheese sandwiches with fries. Maybe on a special occasion if I’m just really itching for a good grilled cheese.

Extremely overpriced. And mediocre. Great concept. I’d just like better follow through. 30+dollars for a small sandwich, thimble of tomato soup, soda, and tiny chocolate cake slice…

This is a five star sandwich shop in my opinion. I only have been there once, today, so I haven’t tried their soups or salads. I had the special with scrumptious cheese, zucchini, and pesto. It satisfied all of my grilled cheese sandwich dreams. The bread was paired beautifully with the ingredients and the zucchini was cooked perfectly so that meat was not missed at all. I tried the coleslaw after the waitress said it was really good, and she wasn’t kidding! It might be the best I have ever had. Not too sweet, greasy, or full of mayonnaise. Yes, I will go there again after I lose the weight I gained from eating there today! When it came out after a very brief wait time, I planned on taking half of it home after seeing it. Unfortunately I couldn’t stop and wiped my plate clean.

Ordered to go… I had the farmer’s market and my husband had the pig trail. To go took about 10 – 15 minutes. Our sandwiches were good. nothing spectacular… & Price came to about $ 22 for the two sandwiches & fries(which cost extra). Definitely would not pay extra for fries again as they were not great and the amount we were given was laughable! This place had a lot of potential but overall wasn’t impressed.

I was excited for this place after I read all the reviews but I left a bit disappointed. When I came in, they were busy so there was about ~35 min wait. Décor and atmosphere wise is nice. I ordered the Gulf Shores and I was not too fond of it. I realize that this place is called the main cheese but the gulf shores was too cheesy that it overpowered the shrimp and crab. I think it is weird to pair grilled cheese sandwiches with slaw, so I opted for french fries. My sister ordered the The Pinnacle which she thought was just«okay». I will re-try this place again and order something different next time.

This place was great — the waiter was super friendly and clearly into his job, the décor was cool, and the food tasted fresh. The cheese artichoke dip was probably the best artichoke dip I’ve had. Try it!!! There were a lot if tempting options. We shared the farmers sandwhich that had avocado & muenster and the ham and brie(minus the ham). Apricot jam, arugula, and pairs made this one our favorite. Def try the cheddar ice cream. Sounds nuts but it was really tasty and the consistency perfect.

Different and Good! I have enjoyed the ‘Gut Bomb’, Farmers Market and Ham & Brie. I enjoy the simplicity mixed with a bit of refinement. I am a fan of the homemade chips. The service is very good as well as the desserts. I’m still waiting to see if the put apple pie with a slice of sharp cheddar on the menu.

Besides being a Big Orange rip-off, this place was just OK. Everything was OK, but not great. Like, all of it was one ingredient off. For me, it was the sauces. The sauce on the ham and brie wasn’t what I’d put on it at all. And the dipping sauce for the chips was not mixed well or something, because it legitimately detracted from the flavor of the chips. Meh. I probably won’t come back.

I love the concept, yet my particular sandwich wasn’t all that. I opted for the Ham & Brie In Harmony(Shaved ham | Brie | Arugula | Pear slices | Apricot jam | Herb mayo | Sourdough), while most of the rest of my party tried the Pinnacle(Grilled chicken breast | Cheddar | Swiss | Pinnacle sauce | Roasted cashews | Sourdough). We had a mixture of chips, fries, and slaw. My husband made the comment that he felt that a restaurant that is called«The Main Cheese» should include more cheese on their sandwiches. I do agree, it felt like a typical sandwich, versus a «gourmet» grilled cheese sandwich. I don’t know… I just wasn’t crazy about it. With this being said, I would go back and try something else. Being new, I am sure they are still working out the kinks. Worth noting, the restaurant itself is very hip and clean, and our waitress was very friendly. Also, the cheese donut was good — probably not worth my $ 3.50, yet you decide.

Soft opening and there is a short wait… went here tonight with a friend who really wanted to try this place. They just opened very very recently and you can tell. My friend asked for a sweet tea(don’t have any), and then a lemonade(don’t have that either or ran out). She ended up getting a Dr.Pepper. We got the Caponata as an appetizer which was pretty tasty. As our entrée, she got a Farmer Market Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich with Tomato Dill as her side as she likes to call it and I got the Main Chese House salad sans cheese and pecans. Farmer Market — She said it was good but really greasy. The bread looked different as well. It was pretty stuffed with avocado but you can tell it was super greasy. Tomato Dill soup — She said it was eh. Tasted like a fresher campbell’s soup really Main Cheese House Salad sans cheese and pecans — Nothing special and some of the lettuce was actually not fresh at all. There were also small pecans bits at the bottom which annoyed me. Also I asked for Shrimp which they didn’t have any. Also asked for red bell peppers which they ALSO didn’t have any. I get it that its still soft opening but come on those aren’t exactly things that you need to scour the earth for. Also our appetizer came out SUPER fast and then it seriously took forever for our entrees to come out. Props to the employees though, they were mad nice. Nothing to special about this place really. You can make those sandwiches and salads at home.
