The ONLYREASON I’m giving so many stars is because they book solid comedians. We booked online for their Valentine’s special which included dinner, dessert, glass of champagne and the show for 24 $ per person. So 52 $ dollars later(online booking fee) based on the previous Unilocal reviews, we thought we’d have a pleasurable and entertaining Valentine’s date. NOT Dinner was tantamount to a TV dinner. 10 $ for a horribly dry chicken breast, mixed vegetables and a piece of garlic toast that were all cold. Apparently, the microwave wasn’t working. Ok, whatever… so the show was solid. All three comedians were very entertaining(imho the second act Jose outshined the feature). So it’s nearly the end of the show and we call the waitress over to inquire about our desserts and 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. Her answer: «At the last minute the owner decided not to include that.» To which I replied, «But we paid for it.» So she said, «Oh that happened to another couple behind you, too. I’ll check to see what they’re doing about it.» My husband and I were perplexed. So partrons pre-pay an extra 20 $ per couple and they were just going to «forget about honoring the advertised couples’ special?» …extremely BADBUSINESSIMHO. Anyway, the waitress then brings us two pieces of what was some pretty crappy cheesecake on paper plates and two glasses of cheap champagne. Ok I wasn’t at a 5 star restaurant. I didn’t expect much more. It’s the fact that they took our money and had no intentions of furnishing the advertised special. Live and learn. THEFOODSUCKS. THEMANAGEMENTISSHADY. 8 $ per person for a solid comedy show is AOK. The drinks are priced pretty much the way they are all over Little Rock unless it’s happy hour or ladies’ night. So that’s fair. We’ll likely go back for the shows. But as for the rest? Eat at home or go to a restaurant BEFORE the show. You’ll thank me if you do. I promise.

This place is probably the best date night destination in Little Rock. The comedians are always funny and the drinks are unique as the acts. Try the lobotomy it will get you where you want to be and it is delicious. The wait staff is great and will take care of you all night. The food menu is a little less than to be desired but don’t let it stop you from checking out a show.

This place is trashy and a poor example of a comedy club. Loony Bin needs to visit some of the other U.S. comedy clubs and take good notes. There’s a weird odor inside and everything looks dirty. I’m actually afraid to eat or drink anything in there. They make an announcement that customers should respect each other and the comedians. However, on my most recent visit, the customers were so loud and I could hardly hear at times. A group of people were really drunk(or just plain stupid) at the table behind us… and somehow, a barstool ended up hitting the back of our chairs. I believe it was thrown. Regardless, I refuse to return to a place that allows it’s customers to behave like wild animals.

It’s perfect for date night. My husband and I go here regularly and often take friends and family. It’s always hilarious. Plus it’s cheaper than going to the movies.

The loony bin has been around for a long time. It’s located in the Breckinridge shopping center. All of us locals go here a few times a year. It doesn’t get much better than live stand up comedy. This place has never disappointed. Nice dark, laid back atmosphere & good drinks. If I’m entertaining visitors from out of town this is always one of the places I will take them. This is an EXCELLENTDATE night place!

Loved it! I have never been to a comedy club before and this was far better than I had imagined. I loved how casual the atmosphere was, and I was pumped that we went on open mic night. The drinks are stout and the staff is friendly. More importantly, the comedians were funny! I will have to come back another night for sure.

The good: Website with info about the upcoming comedians, so you can plan your night. Also, if in doubt about the comedian you can get a preview of them Friday morning on Alice 107.7 radio – they do a «Funny Friday» bit with the comedian usually around 8:30am. Full bar service. Usually not crowded – might be full, but you have the option to call and reserve tickets ahead of time. Very reasonably priced admission – can’t get movie tickets at this price anymore! Never the same night twice – always fun! The bad: Drinks aren’t as cheap – but still reasonable. Signature drink«the lobotomy» will cause you to forget who you are… you decide if that’s good or bad :) As far as I know, smoking isn’t allowed, but it always SMELLS smoky to me! Some patrons don’t understand we aren’t there to listen to them… everyone wants to be the comedian. Snacks/food is pretty average to poor. I recommend eating first then catching a show. Overall it’s a fun date night or girls night out!

Loony Bin A pretty good venue. I laughed by butt off. Bad odor like urine in the front area where you get your tickets. Prices pretty typical, waitress was competent. Did not eat food, I suggest you don’t either because I didn’t see anything that resembled kitchen service. Even the bar was a back room type deal where the waitress disappears and emerges with stuff. Maybe normal, but I didn’t feel comfortable ordering food, I like to see my food plus you should be paying attention to the talent. We were there on open mic night Wednesday. I am a fan of standup from childhood so I found the wanna-be comics fascinating. This is really raw, unrefined entry-level stuff and it is awesome to see these aspiring folks give it a go and see where it all begins for some. My wife could have done without the amateurs. The pros were very funny… the featured was even better than the headliner. PAYATTENTION to the web site and the age restriction. Comedy can be vulgar… duh! They were supposed to be careful this night which was hard for the open mic folks who feared getting«the hook» if they got too raunchy. Here’s the thing, comedy clubs are not generally for young children, they don’t get it anyway so please spare us grown ups. Look for the children friendly stuff and don’t go to a club otherwise if you don’t know the act or the recommended age limit and if you are a sensitive little worrywart grown-up. We are a little past middle age, so we did appreciate that the show was pretty early in the evening. It’s a comedy club in a strip type shopping center, not a luxury place with fine dining, awesome drinks or comfortable seats. We were overjoyed to find a comedy club though, and we really appreciated that it was there.

This place is pretty good for Arkansas standards. It is something to do on a Wednesday-Saturday evening, and it is pretty inexpensive. The club doesn’t have any frills… it is almost«divey,» but certainly not ghetto-y or trashy. They usually have three comedians each night, and on Wednesdays, they have an open-mic night. I’m not sure how that is because we’ve never been there on a Wednesday, but usually the comics are pretty good. Generally, out of the three, two of them are pretty good. The comics often use sexual and/or drug-related material that could be toned down a bit, though I guess it is appropriate for the mostly younger crowd. The crowd seems to be half 18 – 35 and half 50 and up, without many middle-aged folks. Even so, the older crowd generally seems to enjoy themselves. One of the nice things about this club is that they list their comics on their website, so you can choose which type of comedians you’d like to see, and go on that week. They generally post schedules 3 – 4 weeks in advance. What else is there to do in Arkansas, though? We’ve been there several times, and I’m sure we’ll be back again. For the price and the lack of other options in Arkansas, it is worth the visit. Note: They serve alcohol, but it isn’t an unwritten requirement that patrons indulge.
