THEWORST experience I have had with a restaurant. Paid $ 50 for 2 hibachi chicken dinners to go and did not receive salad or soup that comes with it, and the portion was the size of their lunch version. Called and was told it was completed correctly and that they would do nothing to fix this. I called 5 times over the course of 2 weeks and didn’t get in touch with a manger until the 5th call. No one bothered to apologize or correct the issue. VERYRUDE and I am PISSED. Will never ever go back. This is currently in the hands of the better business bureau now. YOURUINEDMYEXPERIENCEAND I WAS loyal repeat customer, repeat WAS. AWFULAWFUL customer service you should be ashamed as a business.

I have been a frequent customer for years at this establishment and I will never go back after the experience I had tonight. To start off we had to wait a very long time for a table even though the table was available. They didn’t bus it from the previous service for at least 20 minutes. Once we were finally seated our drink orders took a long time to arrive. For the most part our food was ok. The chef was very friendly.(Ocko no longer works there btw) The entire reason we visit this restaurant is for the fried rice and this time it was completely unacceptable. When I asked them to remove the $ 6 charge for the fried rice, I was told that since I touched it, they would not remove the charge. This was told to me by the owner. She eventually told me that she would give me credit for the $ 6 but that I still had to pay it tonight. When I asked if she was the owner and attempted to take her picture she forcibly grabbed my arm and my phone. I told her that I couldn’t believe that she would lose a recurring customer over $ 6 but I would pay the bill so I could leave. She then refused to accept my payment and called the police. The manager finally accepted my payment after the owner realized that there was a police officer in our party that witnessed the owner grabbing me. I will never visit this restaurant again after my experience tonight. Oh and if you are wanting to know what is wrong with the rice, it is a different kind of rice(probably a lower quality) it didn’t have any onions or veggies in it at all and it was crunchy like it wasn’t fully steamed before it was fried. The chef cooked it exactly like they always have, so all I can gather is that it must have been the changes made in the back of the house.

THE worst sushi I’ve ever ever had. It was 80% rice; the roll was too big to even fit in my mouth and too thin to pick up with my chopsticks. Avoid if you like good sushi. Nice place and atmosphere but terrible sushi to be called a sushi bar.

This place just went under new management. And it’s by far the worst meal I’ve ever had here. So sad. This has always been my go to place for fried rice etc. I will now be finding another place for my fried rice and sushi fix. As a long standing customer I don’t find myself ever returning here. The food my table had tonight was not good. I felt as if I was eating a salt block. Still tasting it after downing 3 glasses of water! I hate the fact I spent my hard earned money on that. Quite disappointing.

Fantastic sushi! We eat here at least once per week — try the godzilla roll, and the tuna lovers roll! The wait staff is very courteous and very efficient. It’s THE go-to place for Sushi in Little Rock

Don’t go here if you want sushi. Their sushi does not taste fresh. The other items are just okay. But the sushi is bad.

Ordered takeout. Six sushi rolls. Got there to pick them up and they had given them away to another family getting takeout. Waited for them to remake them and got on my way. The rolls were very tiny and thin. The fish was bland. Very disappointing.

Chef Oka was extremely friendly and very creative with the hibachi(teppentaki grill). Excellent filet mignon and lobster tail. Very generous helping. Overall a great family experience.

Worst. Sushi. Ever. Warm, bland, gross texture. Smelled like food poisoning waiting to happen. One star was for my new favorite thing… Spicy edamame. I now can only eat edmamae with sriacha on it.

We were visiting from California. It was a priceless gem to find a restaurant with such great food and ambience. The sushi was delicious, but the freshly prepared, hibachi grill food was the best!!! The service was excellent. The servers were friendly, jovial and efficient making our experience even better. We had dinner there three nights in a row. My children devoured their food, which was another welcoming delight!

Sekisui is good… not great. I haven’t tried anything here that has really stood out for me, but I am open to suggestions. I typically order hibachi(particularly teriyaki chicken, fried rice, etc.) The food and service are … good enough. Not amazing, but by no means bad. I’d go again, but wouldn’t be craving it at any point.

This was one of those i used the GPS to find something close when I should have checked Unilocal instead places. The place looked great, nice atmosphere, shushi boats riding in the little waterway around the bar, elevated seating area, …just really lifted my expectations… The Sake was some of the smoothest I’ve had. The unagi was pretty decent… the other two rolls ordered were bland… almost no flavor at all. thank God for wasabi… I should’ve went elsewhere.

Food was ok buy they started making our food before the soup and Salad came did not like that then we had one of the coupons on the phone that did not say lunch or dinner and the manager was not the nicest with that and finally said she would take it off got the bill she never took it off but she took it off the phone. It’s not my fault you wrote the coupon wrong plus if she would have looked we had upgraded steaks on our combo so our bill was more than enough to make a deal out of 5 bucks plus we won’t go back there and we were went there I would not say alot but about 6 – 7 times a year.

Not my favorite Japanese joint in Little Rock, but not bad, either. The food and service is on par with Benihana. The sushi bar has a little moat with sushi boats that float around the circumference of the bar area, which is a neat touch. Teppan/hibachi tables, sushi bar, and traditional tables In the same building and upstairs from West End Smokehouse. A little on the pricey side for the quality, IMHO.

I had a good experience here. I like the sushi boat concept where sushi I placed on boats that float along a river that surrounds a seating area. The sushi itself was Ok, but that is not what I came for. The habachi grill experience wasn’t bad. The food was good and u get enough to make u uncomfortably full. I had the scallops and they were cooked good. Atmosphere was fine. I had not been to any other Japanese restaurants in the area, but I ha no problems with this one.

Tokyo dinner plate was a ton of food. Quality, not so much. Chicken and shrimp tasted like they spent too much time in the freezer. Subpar food, lots of it, decent ambiance.

Came here with friends. I’m accustomed to sushi back home in Louisiana. Sushi here looks very nice but tasted just ok. Something wasn’t quite right. Some of the fish had little to no flavor at all. Presentation was nice. Overall for the cost it was a good evening. If I had no choice I would come back here. I will continue to search for good, fresh sushi in Little Rock.

I’ve been to a number of sushi restaurants and this isn’t it. We ordered Tuna and Salmon Nigiri, a Spider roll, and another roll which was baked and set on fire when presented to the table. The Tuna and Salmon Nigiri had no flavor. I believe the fish was set out to thaw as it was frozen on the hand pressed ball of rice. The spider roll had fried pieces of something, but I could not discern what it was. There were large pieces of Romaine lettuce(huh?) rolled into the roll to keep it taut, but it didn’t help. It was a very disappointing experience.

Let me preface this review by stating that I did not consume any food from Sekisui Sushi Bar. That said, it exactly resembled the sushi you might find tucked away in a grocery store and I’m sure it tastes the same. We went during Happy Hour(4 – 7, if you want to check it out yourself) and the boats floating around all contained either your standard-issue ginger and wasabi or california rolls. Given that each boat contained 4 pieces of california roll and the 6-piece california roll was only $ 4.75 on their menu, I can’t see how you’d be saving much money during Happy Hour. The menu was suspicious. I’ve eaten at Sushi Café in Little Rock a few times and I was surprised to find that several entrees at Sekisui(Wok Fired Edamame, Crispy Buffalo Wontons, the Fish and Chips, Sweet Potato Fries and the Grilled Rack of Lamb, which stand out on a sushi restaurant menu!) seem to be lifted wholesale from the Sushi Café menu! I can’t prove which menu was first, but given that the main Sekisui website(which doesn’t even acknowledge the Little Rock location!) has several menus of their other locations available, none of which have anything like the examples I listed, it all seems a bit strange. The ambience was similarly odd. We’re talking a large restaurant, larger than a basketball court, cavernous even, with maybe a handful of people at the sushi bar and a family at the hibachi bar during dinnertime. All these warning signs culminated in us leaving without having bought any sushi. I recommend you not even walk in the door.
