One of the best all-around breakfast meals I’ve had in a very long time ! Firstly beautiful sister establishment to the Capitol Grill. Bright and airy in the vain of a classic French bistro. Severs and service — second to none in town… Better than the grill frankly. I ordered the Irish breakfast, asking to have it deconstructed and layered. Grits were INCREDIBLE! Hands down the best grits I’ve ever eaten any where in country– and people, you can find great great in a lot of place, but not like this! Smooth yet textured, cheesy and buttery with just a bit of snap! The best bacon in the world from Wittenberg, WI… Nueskes’s Meats –consider yourselves informed ;), and biscuits in the square variety that are so airy and lite as to be a contradiction in form, because it weighed a pound! Breakfast potatoes were crispy and seasoned to perfection– AND blazing hot on the inside with just the right amount of firmness. Eggs poached with precision. There is real pride in every facets of this operation — it pleasure to dine here as well experience their pride in service done well!

Little known gem in Little Rock: Capitol Tea Service! We were staying at the Capitol Hotel for our anniversary weekend and when we booked online there was an ad for Capital Tea, supposedly only held the first Saturday of each month. I called to get information and found out it is a British tea service. We paid in advance thru a ticket booking site but didn’t need to. It was all rather unclear, the hotel staff didn’t know when or where it would be held and our server at tea didn’t know about the pre-paying. We ended up being directed to the hotel’s mezzanine level, we found they were ready for us and one other party of 4(who we never saw), but we asked to move outside to the balcony, because it was a beautiful day. Once settled in, we greatly enjoyed the tea service. The tea selection was good; great flavor in the apricot amaretto tea. We loved the savory course: 5 mini sandwich varieties with 2 pieces of each kind for each of us. The sweet course was great too, classic scones with jam and cream, fruit tarts, and macarons. We have had traditional British tea service in Scotland and found this comparable. I highly suggest you try this tea out if you’re into fancy sandwiches and delicious desserts. We made this our lunch, it was more than filling. The hotel or restaurant should advertise this so much more, it’s completely worth it and under-publicized.

This restaurant was beautiful, the menu is very attractive, and the atmosphere is classy. The tuna tartare was flavorful, the filet temperature was requested medium but brought about medium rare but I like med rare myself so I was enjoying it, and the Parisian chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was definitely a work of culinary art. Now for the not so fun part: We went there on a Friday night, me and my girlfriend, around 9(an hour before closing) to be told that the manager of the restaurant has closed the kitchen, although there were plenty of tables empty. The waitress was nice and she reserved dinner for us the next day at 8:30. We arrive there the next day and it’s great, until I accidentally poor my drink on the table, many waitresses walked past and didn’t do anything or say anything until we requested them to(acknowledging us would’ve been nice even if nobody requested help or service). The last thing was that I really wanted to try out their chocolate soufflé but unfortunately the waiter said that they ran out which is really unacceptable at a fine dining restaurant. This is the first time that I get denied a dish because of unavailability ever in fine dining. It was a fun experience, but there were some major issues. I definitely would be back and I definitely recommend this place but I would really love to go there again and come back to this review and update it.

This is the place we’ve been looking for. Brunch was fantastic — my steak was the best I’ve had in a while(not many places in AR seem to get steaks right, I’ve become afraid to order it). My husband loved his traditional midwestern brunch. Both of our eggs were over-easy exactly, he adored the tomato(not my thing) which looked to be… broiled with cinnamon?, English muffins and marmalade were just right. The bacon is to die for — great cut cooked with attention, not under or overdone at all. The potatoes were… great but just a little uninspired — that’s the one item I’d have dressed up a bit. My mimosa was lovely and husband is giving the bloody a 4 star, which is amazing from him. Nice and spicy. They’re not shy with the booze. Service was prompt and polite, non-invasive which is great. We’ll be back for many more meals, and to try out the bar a bit more.

Went here for breakfast a few days ago. Had the Irish Breakfast. It was fantastic. I would have it again and again. Also had a Bloody Mary, made with their house-made mix. Also fantastic. Try it. Service was great. Make sure to have their«loaded» grits with breakfast. Also, I had drinks at their bar the night before. Only complaint I could make about this place is that it closes too early.

After the disaster at «Cache» we needed somewhere to have dinner. We walked into One Eleven and told the host we were at their mercy to save our evening. He assured us that they would make our evening wonderful. I won’t make you wait, they did!!! We were immediately seated, water was on the table within a minute and the waitress was there within 2 minutes to introduce herself and take our dink orders. The diver scallops were delicious and the Wagyu beef and Penne noodles is a fantastic cold weather dish. Melanie the waitress was pleasant, engaging and extremely helpful. There is no doubt that should we ever return to Little Rock we will dine at One Eleven again!

It’s was just very ok. The service and atmosphere were great but the pretentious biscuits and gravy was a little over the top. S3 per egg? C’mon on man! $ 30 for subpar breakfast.

I was really impressed with the new décor from their big makeover, so I had wanted to eat here for a while. I made a reservation in advance, but I bet I didn’t need to. I feel like there were a couple empty tables for the duration of our visit. The demographic was probably our parents age, and we’re 35, so… This was Friday night at 6:30. The big red flag was at the bar where we sat down to have a drink and wait for our friends. I saw there were no beers on draft. The bar tender advised that since they weren’t busy, they could go across the lobby to the grill side and get draft beer for me. Yikes. The fanciest place in town’s bar doesn’t have draft beer. It’s also shocking during the local beer boom that’s going on in town these days. Testing out local craft beers is the new spectator sport and this extremely nice restaurant with SOMUCHPUBLICITY isn’t helping me be a part of this. The bottle selection wasn’t representative of the local beer boom either. My husband mistakenly was looking at the drink menu for the grill, so his choice was shot down and he needed to open a new menu and choose from the One Eleven side’s menu. He made a hasty choice and ended up with a very tall, very pink drink in an awkwardly skinny glass with two huge mint leaves for garnish. He asked how he was supposed to drink this and I advised he smash the leaves down into the pink slush. Anyway– The menu was brief. There were no lengthy descriptions of the food. We asked if there were specials and got an answer that left us hanging. The vegetable of the day was the thrill of garbanzo beans. We all ordered meat-intensive dishes and several sides. The guys at the table were left hungry. My short rib was too much food for a lady, but my husband was happy to help me out. We shared desserts, after-dinner drinks and as we were paying our bill, it dawned on us that perhaps the waiter was summoning our vehicles from the valet. We hadn’t discussed this, so we felt like we were being kicked out. We still had pretty full drinks so we continued to talk and visit. Our cars were lonely on the curb and we didn’t see our waitress again. I got the genius idea to just walk over to the grill side. We had more drinks and our cars were put away. Long story short– Just eat at the grill. I’m kind-of glad my curiosity about One Eleven has been stamped out, but no one in our party left feeling any need to come back. I think the food was delicious and wonderful, but the awkward service is what’s stamped in my mind.

Although the environment and service were second to none, we found the food itself lacking compared to its price point. This is not to suggest that the scallops I ordered weren’t superb(they were), only to note that my lady and I expected a greater«wow factor» based on the reviews we’d read and the cost of the meal. I may return at a later date, but if I do, I’ll be careful to lower my expectations.

I went to One Eleven At The Capital last Thursday with my husband for the restaurant’s first year celebration. We both ordered one appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. The special was buy one three course meal, get one three course meal for free. My husband ordered the crab cake with coleslaw and I ordered the chicken meatball soup for the appetizers. Both were very delicious! I couldn’t get over how good the broth of the soup was! Then we ordered the Asian Styled Grilled Kobe Steak and Roast Halibut with Shrimp Tortellini. My husband devoured the steak and I loved the taste of the halibut with shrimp stuffed tortellini on top. I thought the halibut had a great sauce it was cooked in. Then for desert, my husband ordered the caramel Semifreddo chocolate streusel and I ordered the Parisian Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. The deserts were phenomenal! The caramel semifreddo tasted like chocolate caramel coffee desert and the Parisian Chocolate cake was so rich a dreamy, it took me to another country! There were layers are ganache, nuts, a slight crunchy texture and a melt in your mouth chocolate frosting on top. Overall, we wish we could go more often, but we will have to save it for another special occasion. Melinda Dawes

Outstanding in every respect. Attention to detail shows in salt and pepper grinders along with beautiful flowers on table; butter not only fresh, but also soft. Fresh, modern décor is complementary to the historic Capital Hotel. Superb service by knowledgeable, attentive staff. We enjoyed appetizers, entrees, and desserts – all prepared with the finest ingredients. Excellent wines including by the glass offerings. A bit pricey perhaps, but value is expertly delivered.

Breakfast was great. The Petit Dejeuner was anything but petite, and they were willing to change the fruit selection to accommodate my wife’s dislike of melon. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, but my only complaints is that they skimped on the gravy. The biscuits should be almost drowning in gravy, not just adorned with gravy.

My friend and I decide to mark our one year anniversary of our meeting in Paris by grabbing a drink here, having no idea that it is ran by a French sommelier, two French chefs, and a French restaurant manager! It was superb. The cheese was stinky, runny and moldy the way it should be! The cocktails and champagne had bubbles for days! The shrimp Cobb salad was a revelation and the best Cobb I’d ever tasted. Would go here a million times if I could! The bartender and fellow bar goers were wonderful and friendly and we had a ball!

The food at One Eleven is excellent — fresh and expertly prepared. I miss the focus on local ingredients that defined its predecessor, Ashley’s, but couldn’t really find any fault with any of the dishes. I started with the tuna tartare which was quite tasty, if just on the verge of being too salty. However, they didn’t cross the salt line, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. My husband ordered the cheese plate, and here comes my first quibble: in a restaurant of this quality and price point, I would expect the server to be thoroughly versed in what I’m eating. When my husband asked our server to identify each of the cheeses, he could only confidently identify three of them, and couldn’t tell us more than«that’s a blue cheese, guyuere.» Another thing to keep in mind is that the menu describes the entire dish — my husband’s plate only had steak. No starch, no vegetable. Again, I would have expected a better server to explain and ask if he wanted to order a side dish. To sum up, good, but I expected great.

A recent work trip brought me all the way to the great state of Arkansas. I journeyed from Los Angeles with my British boss and, needless to say, we had a great time. Our first three nights were in Downtown Little Rock, less than a mile from the capital and right in the hoppin’ part of the city. We enjoyed the sights and sounds, as well as the healthy dose of historic buildings to feast our eyes upon… My boss treated me to an early birthday dinner at a restaurant that was walking distance from our hotel. One Eleven at the Capital did not disappoint. It was recently opened as an additional restaurant option at The Capital Hotel. The open feel of the restaurant and clean, yet historic details inside instantly peaked my interest. We got there around 6:30 without a reservation and they were able to get us a table(my feeling is that we were extremely fortunate and our timing was impeccable). Started off with a nice glass of Viognier(whenever I actually see this wine on the menu, I have to get it!) and then jumped into my first course: Crab Cake with Coleslaw. The consistency of the Crab Cake was less fried and more fresh. The crab must have been caught that day. Yum-my! My main course was the Seared Divers Scallops with Sun-Dried Tomatoes. The scallops were cooked to perfection and paired with delicious, farm-fresh vegetables. Portion size was also just right. It shouldn’t surprise you that dessert followed my meal at One Eleven. I chose the Caramel Semifreddo with Chocolate Streusel. This dessert was so delicious and unlike anything I have tried before. Perfect balance of flavors coupled with a nice crunchy chocolate and caramel explosion in your mouth! They even wished me a happy birthday in chocolate! Next time I am in Little Rock, I will definitely come back to One Eleven. My experience on that fine August Arkansas evening was simply divine.
