This is a local institution and definitely the cheapest meal you can find in Little Rock. A local regular took me here for a take-out lunch on a recent, sweltering afternoon. It’s a little mom & pop grocery with two options for lunch — the fried case and the grill. The former offers options of a fried pork chop or fried chicken, each served with four potato«logs»(wedges) and a dinner roll. The latter offers up cheeseburgers, sandwiches, standard flattop fare. I’ve heard the cheeseburger is killer but I couldn’t resist the smell of fried. And I’ve never had a fried pork chop(breaded and DEEP fried). It was nothing special in the flavor department but tasty nonetheless. I gnawed the bejesus out of that thing and thoroughly enjoyed every second even if it was a little fry soggy from sitting under the heat lamp. Here’s the thing though. $ 2.79. Total. A full, totally satisfying meal for under three bucks. I dunno where else in the U.S. that happens… especially when pork chop is involved.
