Still great dogs being served up. He returned back to Little Rock after a couple of weeks away and is serving up hot dogs in various location until he opens up his restaurant/store somewhere in Central Arkansas.

Hot Dog Mike is great! Unilocaling what was nearby I read the reviews on Unilocal and was literally obsessed with eating from his cart before I left. Fortunately, I had Friday off so I had that chance. His hours are short, but it’s because he’s got a limited amount of space. It’s easy to find him since he’s on Twitter, Facebook, has his website and you can call him too and they’ll all tell you where he is. We got there about a half hour after he opened and we beat the rush, with the line forming after we got there. I figured I’m not going to be back in Little Rock very often so I thought I should get all the hot dogs he had to offer. Mike handles the creations and Mrs. Mike(I think) handles the money/beverages. Mike was really friendly and talkative, asking us where we were from and chatting with us while he put together my four hot dogs. I got the basicallydelicious, the WHOOPIG, the VAN and the Polish, and a Coke. Checking in on Unilocal saved me a buck and it came out to be 14 bucks. The WHOOPIG was tasty with meat on meat always being a winning combo but the slaw made it awesome, with the cool/crunchy/sweet slaw a great counterpoint to the salty goodness of bacon. The Van dog was a slightly sweeter dog-because of the beans-I HATE beans but for this one, I’ll make an exception. The Polish was good, I know that sounds underwhelming but it’s a very well made, good ol’ fashioned Polish sausage that went down well. The basicdog I got with mustard, relish and red onion-per Mike’s rec and it was a good one. If you’re ever in Little Rock you should visit Mike and get a free hug.

Hot Dog Mike is LEGIT. Hands down the best hot dog in Little Rock. Why he’s the best: His dogs are made from the freshest ingredients. His Chicago dogs are as if they came straight from Chicago. The Dogs are as creative as it gets. You can build your own dog or try one off his menu. He’s constantly pushing the game, inventing new and fresh ideas for dogs. It’s a must eat for Little Rock,

I heart Hot Dog Mike!!! He is an awesome person as well as business man. He posts his locations on twitter & facebook. He is very customer oriented and I wish him well in his endeavors!!! I have fell in love with the woo-pig, its my indulgence when I can catch up with him. At this time he is limited to specific locations due to ordinances and zoning blah, blah, blah. I think its because none of those folks have ever had a woo-pig…maybe then they would make a few changes so this man can bring his wares across the river to the north side :) HDM also does catering for special events and is very actively involved in charity for the homeless. If you see him, stop and get you a dog so you can testify!

I actually just recently learned about Hot Dog Mike(somewhat as a result of being featured on the Today show, my morning news fix), and have been following him on facebook since. Turned out he was in my area recently, so my mother, husband, and I decided to check it out. Between the three of us, we ordered Thee Chicago Dog(poppy seed bun topped with tomato, pickle spear, neon relish, onion, mustard, celery salt and sport peppers), WooPigHotDog(topped with bacon, slaw, onion, sweet BBQ sauce and a hint of tangy sriracha sauce), and a Polish Dog. Service was quick and friendly, and the combinations were really good. I must admit, I mentioned Unilocal and received my buck off, although he had no clue what Unilocal was ;)

I am writing another review because he has a new creation. Mark my words, The WOOPIGSOUIEEEEDOG, will make Hot Dog Mike a household name. Pork with pork with slaw with bbq sauce. All that was missing was an ice cold beer and a Hogs game. The best thing about HDM is that he Tweets his location so all you have to do is show up. While I was standing in line, at least 4 people came up and then a news crew showed up. No one can beat his meat. You know what I mean. His wieners are winners. He actually turned a vegetarian while I was there. One down countless more to go.
