Im only giving 3 stars because im nice. I’ve gone to bar Louie twice now. The first time I sat at the bar which was about half-full it took the bartender about 15 minutes to even notice that I had sat down and she walked by me about four or five times and the drinks are expensive and pretty weak. The next time I returned I was with my boyfriend and we got a table it was pretty late at night so they were busy so I expected the drinks to take a while which of course they did. I don’t mind waiting a little while for a good drink if it’s extremely busy like this but they were horrible. We also got something to eat and he ordered a burger which had long hair in it. I would assume this is because the servers don’t have to wear their hair up; yes they look extremely cute but no one their hair in their food. I wish this place was better because I live not even a minute away now I have to travel much further to find a nice place to eat.

I personally cannot eat here. I have trouble with spicy foods and other restrictions such as acidic foods, so this place has became a no-no for me with a limited menu for me and just an overall disappointment with the food. I tried potstickers today, and they were awful — soggy and the super spicy sauce was all over them versus being a dipping sauce(the menu didn’t specify). I could only eat one, because they were too hot. My parents rave about the bruschetta and plating was pretty, but, once again, too much acid. My mother tried a flatbread today, and the actual flatbread part was thin and crispy, but the pulled pork that was supposed to be on the item was a stingy amount. I could only find two little squares with pulled pork on them. We also noticed that there was no lunch menu, unless we missed it, and our server was too spotty to tell us. Service was awful right around 1:30 p.m., but we’ve had excellent service at a busy night time service. Our waitress kept going back to chat with her friend versus watching her small amount of tables and customers. This place feels a bit pretentious to me. It’s just not a casual and comfortable place for me even though I dress up with the best of them. I will never return to this bar restaurant, but my mom says that the food specials during happy hour are good deals. And, the cocktails looked interesting on the menu, although I would not try them at lunch. This restaurant is just a huge no for me; there are too many other good bar restaurants.

Horrid service. Went out with a group of friends and spent most of the night waiting… And waiting… And waiting for our server to get drinks to us and even longer to get a refill. The food was decent and atmosphere was modern and really nice. Drinks were hit and miss. Margaritas were overly sweet. Bloody Mary was good, but when the second one came it was horribly bitter and not drinkable. After it was all said and done our server dropped off the check(which was wrong) and didn’t return for a good 20 mins. I’d also like to add that at this point there were only a few tables in the entire place. I wouldn’t recommend going here on a night out unless you have hours to have just a couple drinks that may be really bad. The service needs a major overhaul.

I have been a customer of Bar Louie since it first opened, and have been generally satisfied through the years. Whether there for lunch, dinner, or just a few drinks, the food is consistently good and historically the service has been fine. That said, I have noticed a troubling trend recently that puts me off. My most recent experience from three weeks ago will illustrate: School got out at 3:20 one afternoon, and I hadn’t had time for lunch so headed to Bar Louie where happy hour starts at 4pm — draft beer half-price. The weather was warm and sunny, so I opted to sit out on the patio. There were four other tables occupied there also. Shortly, a pleasant waitress came by and took my beer order. She passed in and out of the building attending to the other tables, but no beer for me. About the time I was going to ask, a different waitress brought out my beer and said she was going to take care of my table. OK. She took my food order(Tuscan Chicken Pasta) and left. By the time she returned, my beer had been empty for about ten minutes. She delivered the food and took my order for another beer. The pasta dish is one that I have had quite a few times, and it is usually very good. It was equally tasty this time. Unfortunately, my beer didn’t come until I was already finished with the meal. In the meantime, the original waitress was in and out constantly tending to all the other tables on the patio. She was very efficient, friendly, and prompt. While I had another long wait for my check, I had a chance to ask the quick waitress where I should have sit to be in her section. She apologized and said that she had given the other girl my table because the other girl didn’t have any customers in her section inside and she felt sorry for her. ! I eventually got my check and left cash on the table, including too small of a tip. If this had been a single incident, I would just write it off and continue to eat at Bar Louie’s. But this most recent incident is the third time in the past four months that I have been pawned off to different and inattentive waitstaff. I don’t have an explanation for it, but it’s enough to keep me away.

The service was terrible. I waited forever for Someone to serve us. The spinach artichoke dip was cold. The burgers were ok. The atmosphere felt fun. I wasn’t impressed but may give it another try just because I liked the atmosphere.

This is my 3rd time coming to Bar Louie and each time it’s even better! We picked a great day to enjoy happy hour! Draft Beers $ 3.25 and $ 5.00 Speciality Burgers with fries! Great service and a nice atmosphere. Awesome! Awesome! This place will continue to be my first pick whenever I’m in town!

What would you expect from a upscale neighborhood bar and grill? Draft beers that come in one size, balanced cocktails, and above average bar food. They’ve got all of those things with a modern restaurant concept, attractive to large groups or pulling a chair to the bar. After a few friendly rounds at our local brewery, we stopped by for a nightcap and a snack. We sat ourselves at the corner of the bar. There’s comfortable selection of draft beers to choose from. We didn’t have to browse the menu beyond the appetizers. We asked for the Loaded Tots, Wings and the Dumplings. Couldn’t be farther apart on what we wanted. By far the prize was the Loaded Tots(my choice), crispy with a warm center covered in a white cheese dip with cooked jalapeños and celery. They were outstanding. I’m not sure why more restaurants don’t do Tots for a appetizer or snack. Overall … Good experience, great location, and plenty of choices. I wish we had one closer to home.

Never been impressed with the food or the bar. The service is almost always slow. I would understand if the food was lacking if it were JUST a bar. But it’s not so no excuse!

Food is good but be prepared to drop about $ 100 for two. No menu prices and the mojitos are a whopping $ 10! Will find a much more reasonably priced place next time.

The food was pretty good, but not amazing. The atmosphere was nice & lively. Our waiter was super friendly, and very attentive. Prices? Meh.

It’s an okay place. I only go during their $ 1 burger night(Tuesday after 5pm if anyone is wondering) during their happy hour time. Can’t beat a $ 5-$ 6 meal consisting of a glass of Blue Moon and a Bacon Cheeseburger.

Not a great place for dinner with the family. Not sure why they even have a kids menu.

If you like pretentious cougars in sequins; this is your place! It’s not so much the bar that I dislike, it’s the crowd. Everyone was snobby. I felt out of place… which is hard for me to do, considering i’ve lived in several big cities and have gone to far more upscale establishments. Get over it, Little Rock. You will never be «upscale»

After numerous visits for dinners, birthdays, and other gatherings — I’ve decided I really do like Bar Louie! And here’s why: 1) They have a great, spacious location with a good atmosphere and menu. 2) They have tons of specials. I’ve enjoyed happy hour specials such as half off appetizers, $ 5 buckets of beer, Tuesday $ 1 burger night, and Wine Down Wednesdays($ 5 buckets of wine, $ 5 Bruschetta and other select appetizers). They also offer Martini Monday. It’s seriously a steal. 3) Their berry mojito is my favorite drink in town. It has fresh strawberries, blackberries, and mint… non of that flavored syrup crap. 4) Their weekend brunch is different and delicious. They offer complimentary donuts and Mini Bloody Mary’s with every brunch order. 5) Did I mention I paid $ 1 for my full sized turkey burger with lettuce, ketchup, and mustard? Other toppings range from 25 – 50 cents each. And it’s a tasty turkey burger, too. 6) You can reserve a table for a large group without paying beau coups of money — they always seem to gladly accommodate.

Eating and/or imbibing here is okay if you just happen to be in the neighborhood, and as long as you don’t expect much from the food. A bit overpriced for the quality unless you get a Groupon deal. Service is okay but uninspired. If you go, I’d recommend the breakfast/brunch over lunch or dinner. Go and judge for yourself.

The food here is surprisingly good, considering the trying-too-hard trendy appearance that often bodes poorly for… well, everything. I’d even go so far as to call some of the burgers excellent. The shrimp po’ boy is also solid. The other menu items I’ve had range from mediocre to above-average. As far as drinks go, they make a decent martini for a slightly high price. Everything else is not worth the cash, considering we’re in Little Rock, not Chicago. The crowd is generally pretty fun and somehow doesn’t radiate douchiness as some of the other similar bars do(read: Ciao Baci, Ferneau). Basically, come here if it’s Tuesday and you want a good, cheap burger or if you’re just having a drink or two and hanging out. You can do better otherwise. 2.5 stars, but rounded up since I love me a good $ 2 burger.

Strange lame wants to be upscale vibe. Most of the food I have had here is decent if overpriced. The waitress from Idaho was amazingly sweet and sincere. The bartender was obnoxious. My grilled tuna sandwich was tasteless and Luke warm. I know that most tuna is supposed to me med rare, but this was tough and gross. I covered the steak with a napkin, waitress noticed it after taking it away and made sure that I was ok, offered to get me something else. She rocks, the place is painful. Good selection of beer if you don’t mind overpaying a little.

I’m not big on chain restaurants, but since we don’t have this place in Charlotte I was wanting to try it out. It’s over in the Pleasant Ridge shopping center, which has quite a few places I like. I love Orange Leaf, The Fresh Market AND rumor has it they’re building a Chipotle over there(!!!). Anyways. The interior is pretty cool. It’s elegant/modern/trendy all at the same time. The service was fine. Nothing special, but not absolutely horrible like I’ve experienced at other places lately. The menu is pretty big, which I appreciate. We started with drinks. My husband had beer, and I had a strawberry fizz. DON’T ORDERIT. It tasted like Nyquil. It was very pretty, but definitely not worth the hefty price tag. The food was good, though. I had the mediterranean salmon and my husband had the chimichurri steak. Both dishes were VERY good, but mine was SALTY. It’s to be expeted when it comes with olives, capers and artichokes. I LOVE salt more than I should, so it was perfect for me, but still. Whoa. I definitely will be returning. There are many more things on the menu that I can’t wait to try!
