Nice bakery offering the usual cakes and pastries. Some notable differences, they do have a hot kitchen. They sell omelets(limited choices, western, goat cheese, vegetarian, or spinach). They have a french toast bagel! Never seen that before. And can’t take a pic, sold out. The bagels are cold or room temp so if you want it warm, better order it toasted. They also sell chicken salad, egg salad, and whitefish. So like a mini deli section. Coffee was piping hot but slightly watered down. Not rich or aromatic. Oh well. I’m giving it three stars only for the options, the nice counter folks, and for variety of baked goods. They are also very generous with the spreads on the bagels but that’s only if you like it thick. Ask for a knife to wipe some off.

My mother ordered a cake for me for my sons first birthday for us to pick up. She gave them a picture of what I wanted and they said no problem. It wasn’t anything difficult so we were told. What a joke ! Take a look and judge for yourself. I could have made a better one. I was embarrassed to have this at my party and My mother was so upset that this is what was produced :(

Good, solid spot for bagels on the morning sprint to work. Sometimes there’s a bit too much salt on the everything bagel, and sometimes the veggie cream cheese doesn’t look so «pleasing», but it’s a decent spot and definitely very reasonable pricing wise. Would just stick with the plain creamcheese. Iced coffee isn’t bland compared to a lot of other bakery/café spots that are similar. Girls behind the counter are always very helpful. Egg sandwiches take a bit too long if you’re in a rush or parked out front without paying the meter(haha). Also — no REAL bacon here, only turkey bacon :( And their chocolate/nut twist bread babka thing is amazing. Would give 3.5 stars, but can’t.

Good neighborhood bakery. The goods are pretty fresh and they offer bagels and breakfast sandwiches too. There’s seating, so you can relax with a cup of coffee and a treat. My favorites are the black and white cookies, the rugalah, and the fancy cupcakes. Parking is available in the back. The street parking is deceptive — the cops ticket the metered parking frequently, so pay the meter or be quick!

Stopped by for a cup of coffee while my fiancé was getting his haircut at Sergio’s. I’ve passed by many times and have seen cute elderly groups hanging outside, chatting while sipping on their coffees and nibbling on baked goodies, but have never stepped my foot in. I was caffeine deprived and in dire need of some java the day I did, and boy I wish I could’ve retracted that foot. The coffee was pretty nasty, for a lack of better terms. It tasted like a cigarette bud soaked in a hot cup of water with a spritz of milk. Not that I am a smoker, but I’ve had enough coffee to know how to describe them, and that’s pretty much what it resembled to me. Mind you, the service seemed great, despite the long line of elderly women inquiring about nearly everything, the staff remained calm and collected. They weren’t smiling(I wouldn’t be either), but neither did they display aggravation that a typical New Yorker would handling these customers. Let’s raise a glass to them! If I am feeling daring enough, I may give them another chance by sampling one of their cookies/cakes next time …

I live close to this bakery but will drive out of my way to get a cake somewhere else because their cakes are stale and disgusting. I was boycotting this place for the past 5 years because of this reason, but passed by and saw an «under new management» sign and decided to give it a shot. I wish I hadn’t. Got a fudge and vanilla cake for my daughters birthday and it was too dry to even swallow. The person who wrote on the cake put slices in the cake and the writing wasn’t neat. Never again!

Great coffee. Support local business instead of crappy dunkin or gmo fueled starbucks. Downside: Don’t expect a quick stop during peak hours as the staff work at a slow and calm pace. Staff isn’t always smiling and I have seen fights with each other in front of customers… but hey. guess you get dinner and a show. What else do you expect when you hire teenagers? Overall: Decent bagels and desserts always look good. Went to purchase a cake here and the staff helpinh was honest and said«don’t get(that one).this one is fresher.» Always appreciate honesty.

This bagel bakery is sure to please. They were very crowded when I came, with a pretty long line. Service was very friendly and efficient. The selection is huge, with different bagels, cakes, little pastries, big pastries, Passover options, etc. Everything is large and looked fresh. The pricing isn’t too bad, but it is one of the only decent bakeries in the neighborhood so it could charge whatever it wants. We got a seven layer cake, which was really delicious. It was moist, chocolatey, and flavorful. We also got one of the croquembouche type desserts, which was pretty good, coated with a sweet honey. We also got a peach cake, which was also quite good.

Passing this spot all the time; I have regret it. Being hungry, had to take my chances. And it was worth it. First glance, busy during the morning for a reason. The range of good pastries and the huge breakfast variety. Second, the ambience and décor is great and really roomy. That’s important. To my anticipated breakfast, prices here are mad good. 4.25 gets me a warm hot chocolate, a mini éclair, as a mini blueberry pie. That’s a really good deal in spite of so many mouthwatering delicates to choose from. Fruit pies are worth the trip here, perfect amount of sweetness while maintaining the flaky crust. One of the top recommendations worth your while. After this experience; I’m so excited to dive into more sweet treats.

I order all my custom cakes from here. Tried Red Velvet Barbie cake and ordered a 3 Book layer Carrot cake for a Medical school party! The flavors are a hit. The cake master is very sweet and is does a great job to accommodate all requests and decorations. Fairly priced and I keep returning whenever I need to place an order for custom cakes! You won’t be disappointed!

Ok, you must get the Mandel Bread(Mandelbrut). It’s not bread. It’s a cake with walnuts shaped like bread with chocolate drizzled on the top. Have them slice that sucka in the bread slicer. Serve to your guests. Nothing’s better. Nothing’s better. Parking in front n back. Credit cards accepted. Everything there is delicious.

Great Bakery! Came here since I was a kid. A lot of older people come since it is such a nice open environment. Good prices and variety! My grandma loves the onion bagels and I enjoy the chocolate croissants! The Birthday cakes and pastries are good too! Its a nice family spot! The parking in the back is hard so try to get a spot up in the front!

There is always a fast-paced line for hot coffee and a bagel in the mornings. They also make omelettes and egg sandwiches in the morning as well. Service is great, the girls are always helpful and caring for the orders. There are an assortment of fresh bagels in the morning, they make it only in the morning until like, 10am. The whole wheat bagels, sesame bagels, sunflower bagels are my favorite. They also have sweet egg /dinner rolls that are pretty delicious with egg salad or chicken salad. Tip: you can always ask them to put chicken salad or whatever sandwich you want onto the rye bread slices. Great place to hangout for lunch. They have a variety of sandwiches including cold-cuts and salads. They have soup in the winter and various other goodies in the summer such as smoothies and fruit salads. The variety of desserts they provide is tremendous as well. There are cupcakes, cakes, traditional Jewish pastries such as rugelach and hamentashen. The apricot one is my favorite. There are also sugar-free options for hamentashen and rugelach and gluten-free chocolate almond horns. The cakes are really good, they often have a certain amount 7″ sizes in the display case but I like to order them fresh. The strawberry cheesecake is to die for, and I love the fruit tarts. The strawberry shortcake is not too sweet which is good considering how my family likes it.

The best bagels in queens. Better then Utopia Bagel… There is said it !! You would never expect it from the looks but the place has very good bakery options. The only critique is that there are few bakery items in my opinion

Unfortunately we ignored this gem too long. We would use Richer’s for desserts on the go(family gathering, friends coming over, canolis for Pittsburgh) and each time it was a hit. But for some reason we used them too infrequently. Now we make sure to stop there for a very good bagel and coffee.

This is a great bakery! Their fruit pie is to die for! I grab one for every family get together and have taken it for friends, and all have always complimented it. Their whole wheat bagels are good. Cream cheese or eggs and cheese are made well. They’re liberal with all the ingredients. The staff are young and polite. They’re attentive and care about your order. There is plenty of room to sit inside or outside. On the weekends a group of old men hang out chatting with their newspapers, which is always interesting to watch.

Pleasantly surprised by Richer’s Bakery ! My hubby found it searching for fruit pies for me. It is not hyped up but deserves to be! I finally gave up on Fairway’s pies because they changed their recipe and when I have had communication with corporate about it they do not even know when the bakery division is lying to them. So my hubby searched far and wide and found this bakery. Then I saw that one of my Unilocal friends Leanna P gave it 5 stars. This is what their web site says. —— «selling Kosher & Non-kosher Food. Bakery offers Continental Breakfast, Sandwiches and Daily Lunch Specials. Seating Available Indoors and Outdoors.» They seem to specialize in Jewish goodies. But have just about everything. They have an A rating for cleanliness from the department of health. Many NY bakeries and restaurants have low cleanliness ratings. I am happy about the A rating. We were pleasantly surprised to find fresh pretzels better than I have had in NYC in decades. Richer’s has only traditional pretzels but really good ones! We did try pretzel rolls because of Unilocal reviews in Forest Hills at The Gourmet Bakery and Deli and as you see I did post a picture but didn’t bother to review it. Not worth my time. The pretzels here at Richer’s are really good and unlike Forest Hills worth a trip. The Gourmet Bakery and Deli in Forest Hills only has a tiny pretzel roll that is not worth the trip. The pretzel rolls in Forest Hills at the Gourmet Bakery and Deli is not bad but not worth the trip and nothing to write about. That was a pleasant surprise since we went for fruit pies. The donuts were good but not as good as Storks. Maybe because they had the traditional raspberry and Storks had Black berry. But the donuts were fresh! The raspberry roll or whatever it was didn’t thrill us. The bagels were good and it is hard to find good bagels anywhere near Queens or LIIMO. In fact they are the best most authentic bagels we have had in Queens and my hubby’s family moved to Flushing when he was in college so he has years of experience eating Queens bagels. He says it is better than Utopia Bagels because Utopia Bagels are more bready not truly authentic. Usually for authentic and good bagels you have to go to Brooklyn or Manhattan. So Queens residents should rejoice! Richlers has great authentic bagels! The pretzels bagels and pies are where they shine IMO. The pie crust was a queens pie crust but softer and flakier and better. Pie crust and pizza crust in Queens is a bit thicker like Rose and Joe’s. But I like this better at Richer’s. It is lighter and flakier. The fruit filling is really good! It’s not that sugary goo that Fairway now has and didn’t used to have. But it is mainly fruit. The taste is fruity not sugary though it has sugar in it you taste the fruit itself not just sugar like other pies in Queens. This is more of a traditional bakery and may not appeal to hipsters looking for something like what they make in Brooklyn which is high on style but low on taste. Richer’s is the real deal. I gave Four and Twenty Black birds in Brooklyn 1 star. If that is what you like no service, poor taste and very limited selection in a crime infested neighborhood, this is not for you. I liked Blue Stove in Brooklyn but this is less crowded and excels on the filling. Blue Stove excels on the crust. Richlers unlike Blue Stove has bagels, Pretzels and other pastries too! I do not usually get cupcakes from bakeries since anyone can make them. But I have tried Martha’s and they are not good at all! Martha’s though has great Strawberry short cake. Martha’s service is usually rude in Bayside, hectic at the other locations. Service here was friendly and normal. I do not think you can rate a bakery on one item alone like cupcakes or bagels. So we got a mixture. The mini eclairs were good not great but they did have a few with chocolate custard that were really good! My hubby says the Rugelach was old school and very NY and very Good. Rugelach is not my thing so it is the only thing I didn’t try. He said newer bakeries try to mimic Rugelach but usually fail. He says this was perfect. Rugelach is a traditional Jewish food that is eaten any time of year. Despite the fact that it is not fried in oil, they are traditional on Hanukkah. True New Yorkers will understand the genius and authenticity of this bakery. Transplants probably not based on what they hype. It is an authentic Jewish bakery. So go for the Rugelach, pretzels, bagels and fruit pies!

I had to add this bakery on Unilocal.Im addicted to cupcakes. Im actually begging my boyfriend to get me one as I type… unsuccessful. I stumbled upon this bakery about a year ago, and in the words of Usher«OHHHHMYYYGOD». Best cupcakes i’ve ever had. The cupcakes are pretty big, the frosting is delicious they dont cake it on like Martha’s horrible cupcakes. They’re always moist, not too sweet, just perfect. They keep it simple, I believe they have the standard vanilla, chocolate and red velvet. Their cakes, danishes and bagels are also great.
