UPDATE: See original review below. This is in response to the business owner, Jeff Falcon, and his false comments. 1. Jeff Falcon and his company, Granite Galore and More, were FIRED. they did not quit the job. I have email evidence of this fact. 2. Yes, I could not stand the grey«jail cell» tile color that the designer originally picked for the kid’s/guest bathroom, yet I paid for that job in full. The second iteration, with the white tile color and design was fine except for the ridiculous installation, and was repeated almost exactly by the new tile installer, Brad Edwards aka«The Tile Man» who did an amazing job. I will create a review for them and post the photos there for comparison. Jeff Falcon calls into play the overjohn cabinet. This is silly. Four easily accessible screws and that thing is off the wall and out of the way. Don’t buy into his phony excuses. 4. Payment — I have paid out more than $ 100K for this project, all immediately on completion with most being paid in advance. Prior to this dispute, Jeff Falcon had been paid over $ 18K. Dispute was over $ 2300 for which he held $ 7K worth of my already paid for granite until he received every penny of the money he did not deserve. I have not withheld payment from a landscape contractor. That part is just funny. The landscape contractor has not even invoiced me yet because they, unlike Jeff Falcon, admit when they or their crews do not deliver on their word and per provided instructions. They are still in the process of fixing their installation and will be paid in full upon completion. Yes, I had a very unscrupulous pool contractor place a lien on my house for non-payment. If you knew the details, you would have done exactly the same. There are no liens on my house at this time. Reiterating, the fact that Jeff Falcon is so very familiar with the lien process should be a warning to anyone that hires him. GET A LIENWAIVER!!! It will take away his leverage in cases like this where he fails to live up to the contract. 5. The designer that he refers to, Dorothy Greenlee of Dorothy Greenlee designs, made numerous vulgarity laced comments herself, some of which are recorded, about how juvenile and unprofessional Jeff Falcon was to deal with and how frustrated she was with him. Additionally, Jeff Falcon has been banned from The Tile Shop in Dallas because he is so abrasive and again, unprofessional in his professional dealings. 6. Lastly, Jeff asserts that the close-up pictures tell the wrong story. I guess if you want a result that looks good from 30 feet away, he’s your guy. If you want quality that is appealing when you are standing next to it, he is not. BTW, I showed pictures of Jeff’s work to no less than 8 different tile professionals. ALL of them cringed at the results of Jeff’s work. ORIGINALREVIEW Absolutely wretched experience with this contractor. In my opinion, and confirmed by others who viewed images of the work, VERY poor quality work, poor attention to detail, poor management of his workers, failure to adhere to very specific design requests, failure to consult homeowner prior to making design changes, demands payment for very poor quality work that did not match design requirements and immediately started process of assessing a lien on the home prior to even submitting final invoice. Additionally, this contractor picked up $ 7500 worth of granite that I had paid for in full, stored it at his fabricator, and when a dispute arose over the final payment, contractor essentially held the granite for ransom until he received payment in full, in his hand, before he authorized the release of the granite. The whole thing went down like a ridiculous prisoner exchange. Obviously given the quality and delivery issues I had experienced with this contractor over bathroom tile, I wasn’t about to let them touch my exotic granite. See the pictures where they failed to miter corners and cut tiny squares of tile at the window ledge making for a very shoddy look, installed glass backwards AND with the paper still on it, installed bullnose out in the open instead of finishing at a corner, and installed small strips in the corners contrary to specific instructions provided. Additionally, I had to have another tile installer fix areas where they installed floor tile in a haphazard manner that was not with the existing pattern and ended up being visible and not covered by cabinets, and they also had to chisel out two shower tiles in a different bath where they cut huge notches in tile that ended up not being covered by hardware trim. New installer did a much better job of cutting the hole to the proper size. In general, use this guy at your own risk. For my job, contractor was horrendous, unprofessional, unethical, and just a straight out weasel.
