Captain Mike and his son Colin provide the best fishing in Rhode Island! Captain Mike makes sure everyone catches a fish, and provides coaching to make sure you leave a master fisherman or women! He also provides cooking tips, and don’t be surprised if you see him on the Food Network someday! Colin can filet a fish like a pro, not a bone to be had. We caught a BIG striped bass, blue fish, sea bass, fluke.

Best fishing charter I’ve been on. These guys are a Little Compton treasure. Captain Mike and his son Colin took us out yesterday for a fantastic fishing excursion. You can bring up to 5 people. I went with my father-in-law, and my two boys aged 9 and 10. Captain Mike and Colin were friendly, skilled and knowledgable. First of all we were onto fish about 10 minutes after leaving Sakonnet Yacht Club. We spent the afternoon moving to various honey holes off of Newport and in the mouth of the Sakonnet River. At each spot time we hooked up a couple of times. We caught eight or nine fish — a fairly even split between blue and stripers. The capt. worked hard to keep the boat moving in such a way that would keep us all comfortable in spite of the choppy water. When he thought the motion might be getting to us he would find a quieter spot for a little break. Having been a commercial lobsterman here for over 20 years he knows all the right places and times to find the fish. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who could do a better job. We’ve been on a few charter trips out if bristol, as well as some out of Ocean City, Md. but none have come close to this experience with Islander Charters. It’s no surprise they have a lot of bookings. It’s worth the trip from Newport or Bristol to come to Little Compton for a trip with Capt. Mike and crew.

Mike and his crew provide us with a wonderful sunset boat cruise along the Sakonnet River and out to the Sakonnet Point Lighthouse.
